There's no such function in the device ... but i think u should try lazy swipe to get this feature back

1. Its called iSwipe and is apart of the Clean Master App that came with the phone.
2. Just open the app > me > Settings > iSwipe Settings.

All of these preinstalled apps lived a very short life on my device

[Q] First time ICS/Nexus user group of questions that have been asked before

I imagine many of these questions have been asked before but I didn't see a FAQ so I thought I'd compose a list of questions that I think others such as myself (inane) might ask upone their first use of the GN.
1. Can I move the google search at the top to another location or make it the size of a single app shortcut?
2. Can I move the apps shortcut at the bottom from the center to the right.
3. Is there a toggle button/shortcut/widget i can put on my desktop that easily allows you to switch from 4G to 3G (and 3G to 4G) without going through the settings? - preferrably right at the very top where the indicators are - I'd like to put an on off for wifi up there too.
4. Why does Voicemail take so long each time I open it - says Please wait- Verifying your account information this may take a minute - I have already configured my voice greeting and my personal name and a security code.
5. How do I get the configure menu in apps - I used to click on something that looked like the top half of a paper with a few lines on it - I want to customize some settings withing some apps but don't know how to get there. - Found that while asking this question - far right bottom of the screen - within an app a few dots like a : with an extra dot.
6. I want to change the way the screen lock works. I typically hold the phone in my right hand and want to unlock swipe it with my thumb. My thumb would much better swipe from bottom middle to top right corner of the screen - not directly across. Silly question I know but I don't want to have to use two hands to unlock my phone.
7. I heard there was a tweak for cranking up the volume - does that require rooting?
This is in reference to stock:
1. No
2. No
3, No
4. Dunno, I use Google Voice.
Thanks for the quick answer.
I don't see a shortcut for google voice - all I want to do is listen to my voicemails, know when I have them (e.g. number count on the icon). Is google voice something I need to install?

It's a static search bar at the top across home screens. You can definitely change this if you're rooted. But you can change this without rooting if you use a home screen replacement app such as Nova Launcher (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher).

Again, you can't do this in stock as adrynalyne said, but you can if you use something like Nova Launcher.

There's no built in shortcut for toggling this option. If you have an app like Tasker (costs money), or some shortcut creator, you ought to be able to do this. You can always search for LTE or 4G toggle in Google Play (Android Market) if you just want this singular function.
4. Why does Voicemail take so long each time I open it - says Please wait- Verifying your account information this may take a minute - I have already configured my voice greeting and my personal name and a security code.

I'm not sure why this is happening, but if you use Google Voice, you should be able to see via notifications and/or widget whether you have a voicemail or not. It is a separate app installable from Google Play (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.googlevoice&hl=en).
5. How do I get the configure menu in apps - I used to click on something that looked like the top half of a paper with a few lines on it - I want to customize some settings withing some apps but don't know how to get there. - Found that while asking this question - far right bottom of the screen - within an app a few dots like a : with an extra dot.

The menu button has been switched in ICS to a conceptual options bar. Some apps still use the menu function as you described with : and an extra dot.

My thumb would much better swipe from bottom middle to top right corner of the screen - not directly across. Silly question I know but I don't want to have to use two hands to unlock my phone.

Not sure how to configure the lock screen to your liking, but WidgetLocker (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker) might help serve your needs.
Thanks -
I just noticed the indicator at the top - I was using the Smith Micro voicemail app, but I like it better than the default so when someone blurts out information like a different phone number I can playback just that part of the message.

One handed feature + remove Google Assistant Search bar + Center homescreen pannel

Hello,
I have 3 questions :
1) Is the "one-handed" feature available in native on Android One MI A2 Lite ? I didn't find it in the settings.
2) Is it possible to remove the "Google Assistant Search bar" at the bottom of the homescreen ?
3) is it possible to make the homescreen pannel centered on a middle pannel instead of the far left one ? I didn't find any homescreen pannel management menus.
Thanks in advance for your help.

System / gestures. To enable the one handed feature , at least this what I think your referring to. 3 : I think trebuchet allows full sizing.

[GUIDE] (Non-Root) How to get back the old OnePlus Gestures from OOS 9 - 10 (Kind of)

I am on the OnePlus 8 Pro with OOS 11. Two apps you need.
SetEdit and FNG (or any other gestures app you want)
Steps:
Go to settings and turn on "Navigation Gestures"
Open SetEdit and find "op_gesture_button_side_enabled" and set that to "0" instead of "1"
Open up FNG and set it up with all the permissions that are needed
Disable "bottom edge" in FNG and only use "left edge" and "right edge" since there is conflict when "bottom edge" is used
Set them up the way you want, and now you can use hamburger menus again!
This should work for any OnePlus, and any version since this tutorial is from the OnePlus 5 and 5t
You can disable the activation of Google assistant by going into Settings > apps and notifications > see all apps > Google > disable
Can't believe no one gave you a thumbs up for this.
Nice one.
Very nice guide.
Now I can use LMT Launcher with Stock OOS Android11.
Great guide! Kudos
Is there a way to get this to work on AOSP roms?

I never used the gestures from prior versions. What is the difference between the standard android 10-11 gestures and the one you describe?

The old OnePlus gestures were a simple two button operation, from the middle of the bottom, it was either home or multi task. And the side of the bottom was back. Now the new ones change position when you flip your screen, so when watching a YouTube video, you have to swipe up twice from the bottom. The old ones you just had to swipe towards the camera from the charging port. The new gestures also have a really ****ty back button, the entire edges of the screen are back buttons now, which means no hamburger menus will work anymore. I am very frustrated by this change, so i hacked up a little solution.

I never used custom roms before, I have no idea if this works or not.

Question Swiping bottom to top

Hi everyone,
Ive been searching for a way to alter the gesture but i can't seem to find it. Would gladly have it the same as a samsung (just normal android feature) phone where you'd open the apps overview instead of nanokits.

Swipe to the right on the nano kit screen. On top you have the selection for Apps and Widgets.

Question Avoiding Whatsapp tablet mode.

Whatsapp has started to open in inner screen in two columns, as in a tablet.
On the outer screen it works as usual: 1 column.
I dont know if cause is whatsapp version upgrade, or one ui 5.1 , but I want the one column layout back to my inner screen.
I can't find a setting for that
I can't promise that this will solve it but: look in the Galaxy Store for Good Lock. Install it and also MultiStar. Multistar allows customization of displays for apps that cooperate. Let us know if that does what you want.
Thanks, but B4 asking for help, had been tinkering with Multistar to no avail.
Can't get back to traditional 1 column layout. Stuck on tablet 2 column mode as soon I open the fold to use the I ner screen
Open the phone in to tablet/unfolded mode, then go to Settings->Advanced features->Labs->App split view and disable for WhatsApp (on my phone, that is the only app lised in that menu)
I'm bumping this, because I noticed my WhatsApp had changed back to split screen. So I went to change it back and the option I described above is now missing. Very strange.
Anyone else having issue?
Yep, I have Whatsapp NOT listed in the app listing for said option.
I'm wondering if an update to WhatsApp has removed this functionality
That is my guess too

Hi. Have you tried looking in the settings of WhatsApp itself?
Not such a setting. Or its very well hidden
Yes, I've been through all the app settings and it's not there.
Either an update to OneUI or WhatsApp is needed I think.
Solved
Whatsapp has finally included a setting for one or two columns in latest release!
Thanks!
For those wondering, it is in the App settings -> Chats -> Side-by-side view
