I'm on the TMO variant, so it's definitely not Verizon only.

[Q] What are RDF files?

I noticed that there have been new RDF files posted (EI04, etc.) but I don't know what those are.
Anyone care to help out a noob?
Thanks in advance!

Resource Description Framework file. In other words a spec list and versions of everything on the phone.
And what we have right now are the versions of Gingerbread being worked on. EI05 being the latest.

as already stated, verizon.
If this does happen I'll be pleasantly surprised, but considering they've already pushed the official 4.3 update back a month, unless they skip that and go right for 4.4, then we won't get 4.4 in 90 days
They talk a lot. I'll believe it when I see it!

The real thing is source. We need the source. I would have finished with my kernel by now if we had source and I didn't have to port one over.

No worries, Newt will have us on Android 5 before 4.4 ever sees the light of day on Verizon

Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC America, just said on Twitter that the Verizon One will not be skipping 4.3 and go straight to 4.4. So yeah, it'll probably be delayed for us.

dammit - I tweeted to him suggesting they skip it. they probably have the s-off patch in place, and dont want to lose the progress...
Verizon is more like 900 days...uggh!
Yeah, it's a shame that Verizon may cause delays. They already delayed 4.3, who knows how long for 4.4..
Damn I got excited for a second....

I already started a thread about this when the news first broke.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506161
not that it matters but this one was up first. they can be merged or this one can be deleted. doesnt matter as long as the info gets out haha
Perhaps the reason 4.3 was delayed was that 4.4 was so close they wanted to focus on that version?
Yeah....I know it is a dream, but dreams are nice

Well damn. My fault man. You beat me by less than a half hour lol. Didn't pay attention to your original post time. Idk why I didn't see your post in the thread list when I started the one I did. With it being so close together I should have seen your post.
Mine had a different title which I edited to avoid confusion. I'll see if we can merge these or get this one removed.

Anyone know if this actually works? Something doesn't seem right if no-one at xda has found root.
Sorry, devs feel free to move to a more appropriate section

How reliable is this information? I just bought a really nice and clean tmobile version and after learning about the lack of MM and developmental ROMs, I think I'm going to return it.
Are these just inside sources you have? Future as in next year?

Custom development will live on even without a M release by Samsung. I sadly can't set a time for when but everything i have heard it should be soon.
So I love this tablet, its in Mint condition but being the T-Mobile version is causiung more problems then its worth.
The Samsung native App "WatchON" cannot be uninstalled in 5.0.1 - and was only fixed with a 5.0.2 update by Samsung...Something that T-mobile didn't get. WatchON is a video app no longer in service. I can't disable it, so I get Widget errors every time I change the screen orientation. Its extremely irritating and frustrating that a lack of updates and fore site cause so many silly problems.
Is there really, truly a Marshmallow update coming got the T807T ?

The way I did it was edit my build.prop. There are threads on how to do this.
I read somewhere that Google will be rolling out an update to the messages app by the end of June to enable this as it is taking too long for the carriers to adopt it.

Has Google finally learned its lesson to not trust these scummy carriers? Lets hope so. Still RCS doesnt matter for me until Apple adopts it since most everyone in my family uses iPhones

How did you do it? I've searched and can find no threads on how to

The only problem I had doing this was that when you switch to the front camera the app crashes.
