net::err_name_not_resolved and I have no apps installed - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed cm11.0_codina.nova.20141215.zip and ace2nutzer.kernel.4.4.x_20150725_codina.p.l.zip.
Problem 1
I have no apps. The browser says The web page at www.google.com/....... could not be loaded as net::err_name_not_resolved.
I have turned off the mobile network because I only use my wifi network when at home and the phone is connected to wifi.
If I could browse to google play then I could install some more apps but I do not know how to overcome the net::err.
Problem 2
USB connection to my main computer is not showing that the phone is connected to it. This implies that the usb drivers are missing from the phone. If so where do I get them? I could send them across using ADB.
R

Browser still a problem. USB solved.

All Messengers inactive when connected to pc

ok i have several instant messengers and programs ive been trying out and they all work fine as long as im not connected to the pc. once im connected to the pc using active sync or not, all IM programs stop working, cannot run resco file explorer to browse files and cannot recieve picture messages.
Is there a way around this?
Does your Micro SD Card appairs while connected to your computer ?
In ActiveSync there is a setting that says something like "Allow data connections while connected to pc." I'm guessing that the messengers probably use your data connection, so possibly try checking that off?

I'll give that a try at home but i seem to be having the same issue with my work computer and it doesnt have active-sync installed. I'm just trying to use the usb connection to charge the phone, which it is, but I still cant use messenger programs or file explorers until i unplug it.
Any other options i can look into?
and yes, my micro sd card is fully accessible from the computer when it is connected with or without active sync.

Unable to connect to network.

I just flashed the original ROM to my phone last night as an attempt to clean it back up. So far I've installed: Google Maps, Seven, Opera 5 mini beta, Microsoft My phone, Advanced Config tool, .Net 3.5, eras2r 3G CommManager Addon, Marketplace, and MS 3.5.
I had the latest Facebook app installed and it worked, decently. When I uninstalled it and installed an older version I started to not be able to connect to FB or to my internet. I've tried resetting settings, and restoring a lot of items to default. I have sense uninstalled FB from my phone completely but still can not connect to the internet on my phone. I am able to receive e-mails. I'm connected to 3G (showing an H connection) and tried to switch it over to Edge but still no dice. I'm connecting to Media Net for any connections that try and access the network.
I did make some headway by connecting to the WiFi at work. When connected I can connect to the internet just fine. This however is limiting and I don't like connecting to wifi if I don't have to.
I was using ActiveSync to transfer some cabs to my phone from my pc and just unplugged it when I finished the last transfer, hopefully that didn't cause the issue. I've performed numerous SoftResets but still having the issue.
Anyone know what I can check? I'd like to avoid Hard Resetting if possible as I hate having to set up everything again.
Edit: Forgot to add the error message when trying to get on the internet:
"Connection Failed: Unable to connect. Please review your network settings."
Is anyone able to help? This is really frustrating me
An update (hope this helps): I ran the "Enable hidden proxy" feature that the ROM comes with and switched opera over to a Socket connection. This allows Opera to work fine, but not in HTTP mode (like it was this morning). I am still unable to connect to Facebook.

You are going to need to provide more information. Which carrier (they have different Internet settings), which "Stock ROM" version.
Sorry, I'm using the Tilt 2 on the AT&T network. I eventually got frustrated enough with it yesterday that I performed a hard reset, which fixed it. I flashed the March 17th version of the 2.5 Energy ROM and had a hiccup at one point. I don't know if this is related or not, but I had plugged my phone into my work laptop and used active sync (it's now set to file transfer instead) so that I could charge my phone. About 5 minutes after unplugging it from my laptop I was unable to go to any website. A soft-reset resolved it.
edit: I really think it may have something to do with my plugging it in to my work computer. Right now I can't connect to FB via the app, I can open Opera and google search, but when trying to go to a website it gives me: "Could not find proxy server"

[Q] Internet pass-through troubles

Heres the situation:
I'd like to use my computer's internet connection. So I plug in my phone and select USB internet pass-through in the popup dialog. The problem is that after about a minute or two it fails, with a popup saying that either I don't have HTC Sync installed or another phone is using it, whereas none of it is true. I do have the very latest of HTC Sync and driver installed.
I am running Vista (Home Premium) and using a USB 3G Modem. The phone is stock HTC Desire Z (EU).
Please bear in mind that I just don't have any other way to connect my phone to the computer or the internet other than the way I am trying. Also I don't want to root the phone. Not yet.
I have tried:
Installing HTC Sync & drivers through "Run as administrator".
While the phone was trying to activate the mode I tried reseting the local area connection (this shows up when you select the mode) - worked for a while, kept disconnecting me every few minutes.
I first activated the internet passthrough (somehow it activated) then connected the usb 3g modem - this worked it didn't disconnect me, but after a restart (the next day) none of the above worked. The phone seemed to be confused because in the wireless & networks it said that "connect to a pc through usb, please" - acted like its not connected at all.
I know that the phone should be ok, because at work (WinXP) it enables in a few seconds - although cannot use internet bec. android does not support proxies.
The passthrough service is running.
I have disabled the firewall.
Any ideas would be very welcome..
1.Right click on the network icon in the task bar
2.Click on Open network connections
3. There would be two local are connections. Find out your HTC mobiles connection.
4.Right Click and select properties.
5. select Internet TCP/IP and click on properties
6. Select Obtain an IP adress automatically

usb tether

For the life of me I can't get this to work! I don't like to start any new
threads and I read all the ones addressing this topic but I'm still stuck.
1. Downloaded wired tether for root, downloaded sync to get the correct
driver, installed it in the proper location following the directions on the google
code site and everything seems ok. When I go to device manager everything
is fine. When I click on the app. I see that its trying to connect but then
gives me the error "network has limited connectivity"
When I go into "My networks" it shows connected with no problems, I know I'm
missing something simple here but I'm stuck, I disabled my wi-fi network,
tried making a new network but nothing works.
Any ideas??
No support for wired tether I have realized. Either try pdanet or easytether if you don't need to access https sites or get a paid version of either. Newest version of wifi tether is working though if usb is not a must for you in your tethering.
Scratch the no support for wired tether. Sorry bout that. The google app is supported and requires drivers that I couldn't find. If you search for the HTC Sync drivers, those work- install them and it works. Restart your comp then reconnect usb. Hope that helps.

Can't use internet pass-through

Hello!
I have a problem with the internet pass-through.
-I installed htcSync latest version on my laptop
-Turned off windows firewall completly
-Plugged the cable
-Choosed internet pass-through
-It installed the driver ok under windows 7 64
Then nothing!
Can't get any internet from laptop to my HOX
I am using Pokemon 5
Might be blocked by your carrier
How come?
Internet pass-through is to take internet from PC lan to the phone and now the opposite
tried and frustrated by this feature, in the end I don't use it.
You don't need any app installed nor htc sync, plug it in let driver auto detect and install.
The big problem is, it does work, but only for like 10 minutes, after 10 minutes the connection simply didn;t work anymore until you disable the pass trough and enable it again, but then after another 10 min same thing, over and over, so.. yeah.. unusable.
I think it must be the office server's proxy, at home I have no problems at all with the desktop PC

So you got your problem solved?
Nop!
As I said must be something in the office's firewall or network rules because it's working at home
