Problem during back to stock. Red text dispositive property of htc. - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I come back to stock regulary from viper but now during the first boot of my m9 it appear a red text under disclaimer that say phone is for testing and it is property of HTC. This is not true I've bought my phone regularly in a big mall. I tried to flash another Ruu but results is the same. Somebody can help me to take off that red text.

Hmm - I've got the same testing message (visible when I go into recovery), but it doesn't say anything about property of HTC. Just a warning about being a development build.
This message is given when the phone is bootloader unlocked (or if it is S-OFF, I think). Perfectly normal.

I have two m9's one a developer edition (using wwe firmware, custom rom) and one an at&t edition (using tmous firmware, custom rom) and they both have the red message. There is firmware that will remove the red message here . Just look for a match to your version and follow instructions very carefully. Instructions are here . If you need them.

[solved]M8 turned into a demo version?

after getting a M9 i wanted to return my M8 back to stock so ive
- locked the bootloader
- reset the tampered flag
- changed the cid to HTC__002 (which might be a error)
- flashed the ruu from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934518148
after the reboot ive discovered the demoflo.apk on the phone and figured out that ive uses the wrong cid
so then ive changed the cid to HTC__102 (whats the correct cid for me)
flashed the ruu again and the demo stuff is gone
but when i tried to turn of htc and related stuff, the phone still syas that its a demodevice and property of htc
ive got the phone from my provider and ive wouldt be very p****d if they sold my a demo-device
the phone is working fine, but unsalealble because of this fact
ive solved this problem
i simply forgot to put the phone to s-on
with s-off and stock rom it will act like a testing device from htc

If your phone is S-OFF your phone displays at reboot an red text message "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC...". It says nowhere about a demo device. That's because what you have then is a Developer ed. device. There's nothing to be concerned about. The phone works either way the same.

Ok, that's one of the messages from the initial set-up. It's because of the S-OFF. I would not be alarmed and leave S-OFF for good. You could brick your phone changing it back to S-ON and flashing a rogue rom on it. Did you use Sunchine to make it S-OFF? Preferably to leave it S-OFF.
this message appeared after ive flashed a stock ruu
ive put S-On and every thing is fine, the phone is now back in full stock, so i can sell it because ive moved to the m9

HTC One M9 AT&T US. Wishing advice on getting back to stock enough to receive OTA

Greetings! I've been unlocked / rooted for a while using HTDEV / TWRP / SuperSU with S-ON and would like to revert back to stock just enough to start receiving OTA again... and eventually Marshmallow. Sadly, I'm getting older and would rather limp along the stock road as I don't find myself tweaking as much anymore. Some facts:
HTC One M9 AT&T US
Android 5.1
HTC Sense 7.0
2.11.502.18
*** Software status: Modified ***
***RELOCKED***
***S-ON***
I unlocked bootloader via htcdev and made sure to make a backup of my stock rom before doing anything so I have that.
What I've done so far:
-TWRP restore my stock ROM (message popped up upon completion stating that device is not rooted, do you wish to root and I chose NO)
-Found (what I think to be) correct replacement stock recovery and flashed via fastboot. It was 2.6.502.16 (Android 5.1) AT&T US stock recovery download from andromods
-"Relocked" bootloader.
Is this all I need to do? I see some walkthrough that involve using Sunshine for S-OFF along with MID/CID and RUU back to 100% stock, but do I need to do all that with all I've saved during my original unlock/root process?
I saw right away that there was an 80ish mb update already so I decided to try and install the update but it stalled out about 10% with the red "!" phone graphic.
I follow you guys quite a bit over here at xda and really dig this community. Any help would be much appreciated!
Have the same problem with my HTC one m9 but with unrooting and installing the ruu 3.35.161.12.
New Update received to android 7... It restarts and install it but until 25% comes the red triangle with the exclamation.... Need also help

Red warning text after relocking bootloader

So, I unlocked by bootloader and went s-off in order to turn my HTC 10 into the US Unlocked version, so that I could get Nougat. Everything went well, I unlocked it using HTC dev, installed TWRP, flashed super su, installed Sunshine, went S-OFF, changed CID and MID, relocked, used the RUU.exe to get Nougat.
But now, even when the bootloader is relocked, I still get that red warning text that appears when the phone is booting up. Is it normal? Back on my old M8, relocking the bootloader took out the red text, as far as I remember. I tried to go back to S-ON, but the command failed.
Is there any way to get rid of that red text?
something like this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/development/bad-sprouts-hidden-red-text-aboots-t3397548 you need something like this just follow it step by step
Yes, that text. But there is no firmware for the Nougat version I have on my HTC right now, and returning to Marshmallow to get rid of that text would pretty much cancel the thing I made this for from the beginning.

Hi, just a bit of warning when using the modified aboot, flashing this carelessly will result in an unrecoverable brick, search for the Sneakyghost thread for flashable zips, he explains very well why he dropped support for them, too many bricks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/2016-05-27-fastboot-flashing-firmware-t3387520/page112
This is an example of someone bricking their phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/htc-10-brick-t3521251
For your particular case, I think I read somewhere that changing the MID could cause the red text to appear, but I'm not 100% sure on that, in my case I only changed the CID for the US unlocked one and left the MID the same, I don't have the red text and I'm on Nougat, S-Off and unlocked, so relocking is not necessary to get rid of it.
I have seen the red text but only flashing a different kernel, running the Nougat RUU got rid of it.
Just my 2 cents, maybe it's not worth to have a brick just to get rid of some text you only see when rebooting.

Well, I surely didn't want to risk that, so I did what you mentioned. Yeah, the problem might have been from the MID. I changed it back, and flashed the RUU with the original software I had, locked the bootloader, and the text is gone. Thanks!

How to reset HTC ONE M9 to stock and factory state !

Around one year back , I followed some topics from this great forum to modify and root my HTC ONE M9.
Now I want to get it back to its Factory mode, where it become as original when it just came from factory.
I was checking alot of topics online and here but I got confused and I really need help.
I will describe the state of my phone now so you can help me;
When I just turn on HTC ONE M9 I get the following:
1- White background with HTC Logo, then
2- White background with HTC logo and right under it "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC’s written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action.", then
3- Animated HTC Logo with white background., then
4- Normal open
5- Mobile Software number: 3.35.401.12
6- When checking updates it says there is an update with number: 3.35.401.32 ,and then after installing the update and after the self restart, it opens normally with no messages, but when i double check the software number of the device, it is still the same old software number (3.35.401.12)
7- When I Power On the device with Volume Down Button: unlocked
8- bootloader mode: Software-Status: modified, S-ON
You cannot apply updates in a modified state. You must return the device back to its stock state to apply updates.
Follow flippy's thread in the general section stickies.

Can't update phone

It doesn't let me update my phone OTA or manually - it says 'we have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software. please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update.' Phone is locked S-ON, software version 3.35.617.12. What should I do to enable update access to the current version of my phone? Can you send me a link with the appropriate software? If you need any more information, I can send.
P.S. I have bought two identical phones - one for which I was able to update via OTA without no problem, but not the other. They both have S-ON and both are locked.
If you already tried flashing a RUU and that didn't fix the issue then I'd say chances are very high that the phone had been S-OFF in the past and that it's currently using the SuperCID/SCID (11111111) instead of the CID that actually belongs to your current firmware. Unlike on older HTC devices, the SCID breaks the ability to receive official OTAs on the M9. There have been many similar threads to yours in the past. People bought phones that got converted by the sellers before the sale. However, the conversion didn't get completed (in other words: the phones still had the SCID) although the sellers reverted the S-OFF status back to S-ON.
Boot your phone to download mode* and see what CID your phone is using, at the moment. BS_US001 or BS_US002 are both fine. Everything else isn't.
You'll need to re-S-OFF the phone if want to change your phone's CID. The needed instructions can be found in the ReadMe thread (Root & S-OFF, Change the CID).
* Power off the device, wait some seconds and turn it on again while you keep volume down pressed until you see a black screen with red, blue and yellow text. If you see a white screen with multicoloured text then you're facing the Bootloader mode. In that case you can navigate to "Boot to Download Mode" with the volume keys and select the option with the power button.
Unlock bootloader,
flash twrp,
flash root,
s-off for $25
Change cid via "htc_fastboot" to BS_001 or BS_002.
Download the stock FIRMWARE "ZIP" that is the same as your current version*,
rename to 0PJAIMG.zip**,
copy to external sdcard,
put card in the phone and boot the phone to download mode
Press vol+ to flash.
Sit back for 5 mins while it flashes and you'll have an updatable phone at the end. No data lost.
*, the first and third octets must match eg 3.xx.617.xx (xx can be anything). Version and region are important.
** double check the filename as different regions have different filenames. It could be 0PJA10000..
Hello,
I have the same situation but my phone is already S-OFF (locked, scid 11111111).
Do I need Unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash root or can I go straight to cid change and stock flash?
