Hi, pretty sure I'm being thick but having spent the morning searching I haven't hit upon the right terms to find the answer one way or the other.
I have a D855 which I unlocked, bumped and rooted when it was still KitKat and have kept TWRP in place. Having tried CM12.1 it's not stable enough for me (fair enough it's at nightly stage) so I thought I would try stock Lollipop. Found a flashable zip for it and it installed great. Tried it out, mostly great but, for me, the biggest problem with LP is that Bluetooth rSAP is borked in 5.0. This seems a common issue and looks like it might be resolved as and when the D855 gets LP 5.1 or Android M, but without knowing how long that might be I'd like to downgrade to KitKat again.
So my question is, and the thing I can't find, is there a flashable ZIP of the most recent KitKat based firmware I can use from TWRP? I think it would be (for the UK) this would be V10L (according to here , but the best I've found is V10E (according to here...
Have I missed something obvious, or alternatively should I create my own zip from the Stock KDZ or perhaps just use a custom ROM but with minimal debloating - but not too much as I like quick circle.
Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is obvious.

PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) works fine for me, why do you require only rSAP ( remote Sim Access Profile) so bad?
It's always your Car That decides the Bluetooth Policy, be-it, PBAP, Handsfree Profile, IrMC/SYCH Profile or rSAP ( which as I say, can only transfer Sim Contacts).
Please, if you are going to be flashing Roms', consider Backing-Up with TWERP, as that is one of it's Major Functions, allowing you to revert back to previous Builds.
Search for reverting to stock by @hyelton (I belive) and use the KDZ you have......

Thanks for the response - reason I want rSAP is so that the car can take over the SIM for data services. i.e. The car takes over the SIM allowing it to connect to the mobile network - this allows it to download things like Google Maps and live traffic for the Sat Nav. This is separate from the contacts (I have no SIM contacts) which still get transferred via PBAP. The key is those data services for the car.
The alternative is I can slot a SIM into the dash but then I need to 'hack' the car to enable the SIM to do data and simultaneously allow voice over the phone bluetooth (not an issue in later Model Years for the car hence it can be configured but isn't a manufacturer supported feature). But as my phone is cheaper than my car affecting the warranty of my phone is the lesser of two evils...
I can't recall - are all KitKat stock ROMs bumpable - i.e. would I be able to flash the KK ROM (going back to complete stock) and just repeat the process for bump and root?
Your comment regarding the TWRP backup is bang on and I did make one at the time I first installed TWRP however I can't now find it/may have deleted it.
Or... maybe I should just use it as an excuse to get a new phone.

Hello there,
One of main functions I use is the GPS. GPS performance is being very disappointing on my Xperia M dual. It’s not anything related to signal strength, conditions etc. I used to GPS for so many years with different devices, including Garmin units, it’s really some problem with android. After researching the subject I discovered lots of users having similar issues starting from android 4.2.2. I tried upgrading to 4.3 but still having bad performance. I want to downgrade to 4.1.2 but can’t find the ftf file for Xperia M dual in this version.
After various tests I discover that GPS gives me stable fixes if I turn wifi and network OFF. So what I want is disable wifi and network GPS scans for agps data. Problem is there’s not such options to disable these scans on the Xperia M. How to do it manually or any app I can use to change these scan settings?
With network enabled, GPS is very unstable, losing fix every time followed be extreme slow fix. It’s incredible that I have a faster fix without agps support. In the end all this technology is worthless with this buggy android.
In the official google android forums there are google developers stating that there’s a know issue with gps until 4.3 and ask people to wait to be fixed on kittkat. What they expect? That I throw my phone and buy a new to have a bug fixed. That’s ridiculously lame.
Well, any clue on how to make wifi and network scans OFF is very appreciated. Something I can add to gps.conf to have this?
Thanks
Unsure on the GPS thing, but there's no 4.1 firmware for Xperia M dual. If you really need Android 4.1 in Xperia M dual you can crossflash Xperia M single firmware, but you'll lose the functionality of the second SIM until you flash another Xperia M dual firmware...
Hi mbc,
I see some threads about crossflashing M dual ROMS on C1905 but nothing about doing the contrary (C1905 ROM on C2004). Do you think it’s ok doing it? Should I just flashtool C1905 ROM, marking the option to preserve boot or just flash it entirely, including boot? I’m afraid of bricking my phone using a boot not designed for my model. Anyway, if things goes wrong with boot is always possible to restore old ones using fastboot mode? I’m really not sure what are bricking chances in this scenario, any clue is welcome.
I'm being really disappointed with this GPS issue. Tried everything, patches, GPS fix apps but nothing makes GPS stable. I contacted Sony support and by the way, they asked to run fix on Pc Companion and send device to warranty if that doesn’t help. My hope was sending it to warranty but it really seems to be a issue with android anyway. Im not alone: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-M-M-dual/Problem-with-GPS/td-p/514313/page/2
In the worst case your phone would just flash the LED red and nothing more, but you still can go in flash mode from that state. If you are afraid, you can flash only kernel and system from C1904/C1905, I think that is sufficient. If something get wrong, you would be stuck in a bootloop, but in that state you could easily go in flash mode and flash C2004/C2005 firmware again to get rid of the bootloop...
This is funny ( it really is? )... I flashed just the kernel and system and after the process, at boot phone asks "enter password to decrypt storage".
My best bet is that I need to make a full flash to get rid of it, I hope. Arrrghhh.
Good news for me. I used a C1904 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410913 and eveerything works perfectly, except I lost the dual SIM capability, what’s OK if I can get the damn GPS working right.
Interesting enough, despite of the fact that the ROM is from India, it presented me the “Brazilian Portuguese” tick already checked on initial screen (yeah I’m Brazilian), with the custom keyboard, dictionaries and everything. For documental purposes I will post here if this ROM fixed the AGPS fix issues after testing it for some days.
Hello guys,
A few days ago I was able to update my unrooted HTC One M8 to Lolipop. This was an official update, received as a notification on the phone. Again, the phone is NOT rooted, the Lolipop version should be the official one.
However:
- 1st thing after the update, some applications lost access to the internet. games and applications which used to work before stopped working saying something along the line sof 'you need an internet connection to continue'. This while the phone was connected to the Wifi, and playing online radio.
- online searches gave some solutions for this problem: forget the network and reconnect, reset the router, change the wifi channel, even factory reset. tried all, with only one result. now even more apps don't have internet access (Facebook, HTC Internet, Chrome browser are among them).
So, basically, the Lolipop update changed my phone to a really, really expensive not-so-smart phone. I need to revert back to kitkat, and i need your help. Please let me know if i can revert to kitkat without rooting my phone? i don't want a custom ROM, I was pretty happy with the original htc ROM.
if somebody else already asked this question, I appologise. I searched for a similar problem but didn't find anything, just a lot of problems and fixes for rooted phones.
Hello to everyone! I have Samsung Ace 2x (GT-S7560M) with Public Mobile, Canada. After the phone become incredibly lagging, I have decided to flash it with custom ROM, which I successfully did following instructions on this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7#post50909757). I like my phone back again, the ROM is amazing.
BUT there are two huge issues - it is not connecting to Mobile Network and Bluetooth can not be enabled. (WiFi connects and working fine).
As I mentioned earlier I am with Public Mobile and able to make calls and recieve/send SMS messages with CM11. After every reboot there is message : "SIM card added. Restart your device to access the mobile network." , which can be easily bypassed by pressing right bottom button (not sure about the name, probably "Escape"). The phone indicates TELUS Network.
I read over the posts on this forum and tried to change settings in Prefered Network to GSM/CDMA auto(PRL). Also checked APN to Public Mobile (tried Telus as well) but no success in getting back 4g network.
Any suggestion? Really do not want to go back to official ROM

Unfortunately your issue with Bluetooth is super common with this phone and roms. In fact, as far as I'm aware there's not a single kitkat rom that doesn't disable Bluetooth. You might find a solution buried in one of the other threads pertaining to this phone, but I'm almost positive there's not a solution.
Just about every rom I've flashed for this phone gives me the sim card added message when I start it up, ignoring it is the best fix I've come across. Regarding your inability to connect to a network, it seems you've already tried everything I would have suggested. Which cm11 build did you flash, by the way?
If you can't get that sorted out you aren't stuck with going back to stock. There's also another cm11 build for the IIx/ Trend, as well as Omni 4.4.4, PAC 4.4.4, Beanatalk 4.4.3 and ALLEGEDLY SlimKat (I can't find the download link to save my life, but a few people have said someone ported slimrom to this phone).
Sorry I couldnt be of more help bru.
about my ROM
thank you for response, I am currently using CM11-20141114-UNOFFICIAL-kylessopen (240DPI) with gapps - kk -20140629-signed.
Hmm, the first time I flashed that same build I had quite a few issues and they rectified themselves when I flashed a different gapps. I think it was the January 2014 4.4.4 full package (when I've got some free time in an hour or so I'll let you know the exact one), which I found odd considering it was super out of date and yet cured what ailed me. Next time I flashed it the 20140629 package worked fine though, so who knows. You've tried redownloading that gapps package right? Sometimes an ever so slightly corrupted gapps zip can do this kind of stuff. Unfortunately I'm not super familiar with the ins and outs of this phone since its just to tide me over until I can afford to replace my Note 4 in earnest, so my ability to help here is mostly guesswork and drawing parallells. I hope you get this on the ropes dude. If you can't get it sussed out in the end I'd recommend going with Beanstalk. It doesn't have a working theme engine unfortunately and is ever so slightly more buggy (well, less buggy I. Your case I guess), but it's waaaaaaay more feature rich than either of the cm11 builds. If you value stability more than customization than Omnirom is your best bet. ALL of the roms for this phone are kinda glitchy, but I found Omnirom to be the least so.
I already had this problem with ICS (I never upgraded to KK) but only occasionally - Ever since I upgraded to Lollipop (5.1.1 French version) the phone constantly loses the connection to the network (and of course also to the data) while WIFI works perfectly, rebooting the device things are back in place, until I move again(specially inside the house).
At first I installed the TWRP recovery (full wipe) and the rooted the phone, then thinking to solve this BIG trouble I flashed Lollipop again, remade the wipe of all, left all the bloatware that the first time I had eliminated - but it didn't worked - instead of the triangle where usually appear the notches of the connection there is an "access denied icon", and when I try to call appears the message: "NOT CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK" - by the way I can not receve calls too while in this state (unreachable).
Has anybody had the same problem or can help me anyway? Should I downgrade to KK or ICS? (but I'm reading that's not going to be possible from 5.1.1!) Maybe I can try flashing another Modem? The rest of the telephone is perfect, battery consumption is better, camera, movies, fluidity: everything is ok but the telephone!
My BASE BAND is N7505XXUDOK4 and my BUILD VERSION is LMY47X.N7505POUDOK2. Thanks
:crying:
First I'd like to say a hearty 'Thank you' to all the people outside there providing LOS and assistance for the Moto G5 generally.
I updated my XT1676 with/from LOS16 (incl. TWRP, Magisk and Gapps nano) to LOS17.1 (incl...) succesfull following the short step by step tutorial recommended from "TheFixItMan" in one 'ROM'-threat a few days ago.
Now I need help with a telephony problem, which occured after the update and I didnt expect: Building connections works, I can hear my conversational partner, but he can not hear me. This occurs not only calling via mobile network, but also using the Signal-Messenger for a call, independent who of both establishes the connection.
'use-microphone'-privilege is set for the telephone- and the Signal-app.
device microphone works, recording voice with the recording-app and voice-notes via Signal are possible.
Using a headset works, too, but it has to be plugged in before a connection is established. Plugging the headset while connection does not work, unplugging the headset while connection and re-plugging loses voice.
The behavior of the telephone-app and Signal (voice AND video-call) is is similar in that case.
Does anyone know what to do? What can I do, where and what should I read?
Downgrade to LOS16 or waiting for a new nightly?
Thank you!
Edit:
Probably this is a the solution. Does that mean, simply flashing a stock oreo and re-flashing LOS17.1/Los Mint after that should solve the problem?
Did I got that right?
Can I use simply last cedric TWRP for that?
What means 'fastboot-firmware'? Ist that firmware part of the Stock-ROM?

If you flash a custom rom then the firmware it's based on needs to match the firmware on your device
Custom roms for this device from android 9 and above use oero stock firmware as their base
The parts that are different that are effecting you would be the modem part of the firmware
Flash the latest stock firmware via fastboot then you can flash the latest custom roms
Note looks like below server is down so either wait or find elsewhere
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com
Success!
That was really the solution! Thanks to 'TheFixItMan' and 'Andrej_SK' for his "HowTO"!
I got some trouble keeping TWRP permanently stored, though I followed it's instructions, but downgrading to a former version and reflashing the latest solved that. Maybe it was an issue of an 'invalid/bad key', what occured while flashing the firmware ROM and was notified later on the "yo-can-not-trust-this-device-screen". It has disappeared, N/A is shown now.
Now I've got a device with LOS 17.1, GApps, Magisk, TWRP working fine. No phone/voice-Problems remaining.
