As soon as I rooted on ofe I tried to restore wifi access points which prevented wifi from turning on. I have tried restoring the previous access points, wiping cache & delvik, and flashing the kernel for root again. What else can I do without wiping data?

I just flashed DC 3.1.2 earlier today via rom manager. I wanted to use my wifi tether but every time I try to turn on the tether it force closes. I would try to uninstall and reinstall it but with DC it is protected. Does anyone know how I could fix this, and if it involved uninstalling and reinstalling it, would it be safe since its part of the rom, and how would I go about uninstalling it?
Try this.
Go into your recovery again, wipe everything, reload the rom, and then try to reinstall wifi tether,or just wipe everything and load a custom rom that already includes wifi tether on it. No sense in trying to figuire out why the app won't work. Just wipe/factory reset, dalvik cache and then flash the rom again.
What i did:
I updated my phone a week ago with the ota EL29 then the next day i rooted my phone using the tools in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101
Then i installed clock work from:

The wifi problem is when I try to connect:
I type in my PW as allways, and then its trying to obtain IP and then it disables and keeps doing the same thing over and over.i flashed the blazer rom following the directions countless times wiped everything and used the Calkulin's Format All before installing but no luck.
Any one know what i could be doing wrong?
Whats funny is that i did this for someone else and everything is 100% lol.
-update-
-i did a factory reset but still no luck, then i restored el29 stock rooted but sill nothing
Try flashing a ROM. Any ROM will do, but when you do:
wipe data, cache, dalvik and format system (under mounts and storage). Flash new ROM, check to see if wifi works on the new ROM. if yes, then go find a stock EL29 ROM (Do NOT restore your old one) and flash it after wiping data, cache, dalvik and formatting system again.
That should do it
Have you tried rebooting your wireless ap/router? Have you tried configuring a different channel on your ap/router? Have you tried ##72786# reset?
going to try both of these now, thanks for the replys.
Are you sure your not typing in the wrong router password?
Nah just messin with ya!
k everythings working now flashed a stock rom then wifi worked, then i wiped everything and installed blazer again but wifi did not work so i downloaded blazer again wiped everything again then it worked?maybe the first was a bad download but im good now thanks guys for the help.
my wireless router likes to do this to me, i just reboot the router and it gives my phone an ip
I have been running 4.1 for about a week now, last night I had to reboot and after rebooting it wouldn't come back up. I had this issue previously and wiped Dalvik and it would boot, however, not this time. I've tried everything I can think of. Nandroid (4.0.4) restores fail on data, I've tried wiping data, cache, dalvik and trying to install a clean ROM (4.0 and 4.1) to no avail.
Any suggestions? I would really love to get my data off the phone before I have to delete absolutely everything. When I go into mount usb storage, I can't access the phone from my PC...
When I try to wipe data, the phone reboots itself into CWM and data is not wiped. This is causing problems when trying to switch ROMS. Thanks!
Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy note 4 sprint. I currently was on stock 6.0.1 then i flashed cyanogen mod 12.1. at this point i was happy and what not, but i tried turning on wifi and it stuck on "turning wifi on" I tried factory restoring, wiping both cache/dalvich cache, reflashing, updating (only cmremix through settings on mobile data). i also tried flashing cmremix 13 and stock 5.1.1 deodexed rooted and i tried wiping cache factory restore... Anyone know a workaround or a fix for the wifi?
also on cm, when i uninstall an app the phone soft reboots, and if i try to add a lockscreen security it says settings has stopped. i tried going to /data/misc and deleting wifi folder and I tried going to /data/data and deleting the settings folder.

I was having issues with the stock 6.0.1 baseband(s) myself, try flashing the modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin from OG5 stock rom.
