I just got HTC Desire 816G Dual Sim, but there is no Sense UI on it? Is it version based or? It's a new phone so it's NOT a custom ROM, I just wonder does it have Sense UI or not?
Also, is it possible to install CyanogenMod 12 on this device?

Noooope, that's stock(AOSP) KitKat UI with Blinkfeed launcher. Sense UI has White settings and it shows Sense UI version in About Phone. This phone has a mix of AOSP and Sense UI and I don't understand why, guess I'll have to check with HTC

Whoops your right. Probably since the 816g is less powerful they gave it a lighter, less prevent sense version. Very interesting...

Sense is what the default Stock Evo looks like.
This is what a vanilla or ASOP rom would look like:

You can't run Sense Rosie on AOSP, it depends on HTC framework...

No, coz Android 3-4 uses .apk's wat doesn't work on earlier versions of Android, tried. And IF it would work, there will be no widgets etc. coz it's another Sense version.
Ok which means I guess it correct different system framework

Think about apps wat are ported from ICs, for example Google Music. No root needed, and it don't need any system framework changing.

Hi, I have an idea about a ROM wat has Sense 4, but it has addition from Sense 3.6. How many would be interested in this ROM?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Honestly that's like saying you have an idea for an apple that's going to taste like an orange. It might be possible but will take a ton of work. The two are so different on the surface and under the hood.
Sent from somewhere using something on some kind of phone.
additions, for example? the HOX is my first sense device so I don't know features of previous senses.
For example= sounds, wallpapers and other things. I did these things before on Desire Z, and it worked. So why not try?

For all the work required would it not just be easier to create a zip for all the wallpapers, sounds etc and provide them for people to download to their own devices?
Sounds and wallpapers are relatively simple. You can add your own sounds and wallpapers to most android phones, so all you would need to is find the Sense 3.6 ones.
If you want to bring widgets or apps across, that requires a bit more work.
EDIT:
Both of these dont really need a new ROM to be created, you just need the individual files or apk's for what you want to add.
What I really miss however is the HTC Reader app from previous versions. It is sadly omitted in Sense 4.0

then show me how to read an saved ebook on Google Reader ...Aldiko is not as nice or as integrated as an alternative. And with Google Books you cannot read your saved ebooks on the sd card
I'm gonna start work on DualSense (propably ROM's name) tomorrow. The worst thing is that se don't have 720x1280 Sense 3.6, so I need to rescale if ppl wants apps from Sense 3.6.
There's the Rezound leak.

Hello, i'd like to know if I am able to install the HTC apps(camera for example) in the cyanogenmod 10 ROM. Many thanks.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
No, as they require HTC Sense framework. The camera for example needs HTC Sense to access the Imagechip.
So it's impossible to install isn't??
And there're any way to install the HTC sense framework in the ROM or that is a foolish?? Thanks

In theory yes, in practice no. I would require to reverse engineer Sense to know which part it would need, it is technically possible but without any documentation (which HTC will never provide for various reasons) it probably would take a lifetime.
Usually people/rom builders go for a compromise to take a Sense rom, strip out unneeded parts and use it with a custom launcher like Apex. The renovate rom in the dev section had a senseless version while keeping the HTC camera app and functionality as example.
Thank you very much.

Hello.
I'm curious - is it possible for a developer to integrate the Sense framework into a ROM so that apps written for Sense would work. Also, if this was possible, would BlinkFeed have to be included? Thanks.

More than likely, No.
People have tried porting sense to other phones and they never, NEVER could get everything working cause of drivers.

How about an HTC phone with Sense firmware? It should be possible if the only problem are the sizes of partitions.

you don't need to build the sense framework on a custom rom......HTC did that for you already. All the custom sense 6 roms are build from the original stock one that HTC released.

I'm planning to create a Sense ROM with the stock Android UI. Basically, it's CyanogenMod with the HTC kernel and framework, so that apps written for Sense can run on this ROM while the ROM itself looks mostly like stock Android.
Sorry if anything is hard to understand. English isn't my native language.

I see what you're saying... It's like when I had my S4. Having a MIUI rom based of Touchwiz witch means TW camera and apps worked on MIUI.
I don't know if it works for Sense but you may try... Use CM as a based and use a stock Sense rom with the same android version and see if it works out for you... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245786

Seeing as GPE Roms for HTC can only support a small assortment of HTC Apps even with the HTC Service Pack I don't feel that it will be possible. I've heard of people using Sense Roms and then using Rom Cleaner to make them look more to stock, but thats still considered a sense ROM.
