[Q] Screen issue - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I've been having this issue where my screenn will then off then it won't start working for 5min. I can feel the vibrations and get calls. If I squeeze the front and back of the phone the screen sometimes comes back on. I think it's just a loose internsl connector. Anyone know how to fix this?

YouTube man...But I've heard that working on your own HTC device is nearly impossible, so its best to send for warranty

Touch problem when not holding the device

I experience that the touch becomes bad and even stops to respond if i have the phone on my desk and only using a finger. Its like a grounding fault. If i have the USB cable or charger con8nected there is no problem, or if i have one finger on the casing or holding the device, its no problem.
But when the phone is lying solo on table, its hard to use touch. (i have no screen protection)
I will post a video of this to better explain what i mean.
Im wondering if capacitive screens is ment to be this way, or if i should get it replaced.
This will make it hard to use in car having it in a holder...
I have noticed exactly the same and been investigating about it.

Does not happen to me. I put the phone directly on the desk, I have a screen protector on, using only one finger on the touchscreen works perfectly.
I just got my invisible shield, and the problem just got worse.
I guess i have to get it replaced :/
Donnt wanna be wihtout it ><
Yep I would get it replaced, just check mine at it works fine any which way.
Works OK here, just tested it out.
also no probs
Ok, thanks guys.
Maybe it does'nt like my fingers

LED flashlight not working?

so i think one of my LED lights died... b/c when i turn on my flashlight only one of them turns one... and the one that stays on seem to flicker sometimes... anyone know anything about this?
so update:... apparently the led's can become loose if you have this problem also, press down onthe leds with a little bit of force and it will start working perfectly again

if u look the design is sorta flawwed, the connection can become bad over time.. since its only pressure
hey so has anyone else had this problem? it happened again and i had to push on the LED to get it to turn on again...
Why not just try and flash it back to stock (or brick it lol) and warranty it?

[Q] There are a way to test touchscreen?

Hi,
I started to have some issues with my touchscreen by surprise.
Yesterday my phone was working pretty good, I turned off because I had very low battery and today I charged and turned on again.
After a few hours of use, the touchscreen stop working.. It's work randomly, sometimes works pretty well without problem, but then stop work.
I made a hard reset, and re-install the ROM (I have the virtuous sense). After that the phone was working fine, but now again the same problem.
When I lock the phone then takes long to know that I pressing the screen, but a few seconds the screen start to work normally
How can I test the touch screen, to know if it's a hardware or software problem?? Anyone have any idea..
I dropped the phone a few times, but I don't remember any issue the lastest four days. I don't have warranty, because I bought the phone in Canada and now I am in Chile...any suggest?
Thanks
PS: I was using the same ROM since 4 month ago.
Chances are its the main flex cable causing your problems, the only way I know how to test the digitizer or flex cable is to swap it for one I know that works, if someone knows of an easier test id be glad to know as well, but I doubt it.
If wiping full and flashing a known working rom won't fix your problems than almost certainly its hardware failing

Smart Stay Error

Just this evening I noticed when I put my phone under a lamp with a bulb, the phone thinks the lamp is my face and doesn't turn off the screen. Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

I experienced the same thing though it happened randomly. I tried to put my friends sgn2 side by side with mine and his phone doesnt have this problem.
Is this hardware problem? How to fix it?

I don't know. Seems to happen on my note 2 randomly.
Today it happened to me in dim litted situation. So it seems not limited only on bright situation.
Yes, I had this problem some days back! Damn, I was going to wipe my device for this, then thought about un'smart' stay and just rebooted the device, got fixed!
Btw- The smart alert feature is also not responding for me sometimes! When I pick the device up from the table beside my bed it vibrates sometimes, but most times it don't. Don't know what's going on!

These smart features use the front camera as the sensor to determine the condition. Should there be any defect on the hardware, itu must be the front camera. But I find my front camera to work well on taking photos. So I wonder what caused this? software? I don't think so since I was using the same version firmware with my friend and only mine got that problem.
I have no idea what is the cause of the problem.
If anyone had these problem, please describe it here so we can get an idea what might caused these.
The software does what it can. It confuses our eyes with other things. it has happened to me. I think it's more meant for you to look at your phone and not turn off rather than being able to 100% distinguish your face in all situations and know to turn off the screen. Most of the time it works though. I'm happy! But usually to not waste battery I turn off the screen when I put it down.

HTC One M8 Touch screen problem

Hello folks,
I have had my HTC M8 Dual sim for over a year now and had no problem with it whatsoever. On January I think I had an official Android upgrade after that top screen started malfunctioning. It was like I am pressing with finger on top of screen all the time. And then, the same area stopped responding to touches at all. Screenshots with screen test is attached.
Soft and hard reset did not help.
Any idea what could be wrong and how I can fix it?
I have same problem with my m7 tried doing everything however didn't suceed. I'f someone could help even I would be happy
I had the same happen on a One V, I had to replace the screen to fix it. The digitizer was damaged by something. The phone did experience a few drops, and was in my pocket when I fell.
The connection inside may have come loose as well. It is something that can only be fixed by opening it up at this point.
