[Q] Bluetooth Borked - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Hoping someone can help shed some light. Googling didn't turn up anything. My S6 after the 5.1.1 update, bluetooth is borked. It is connected to my Sony Smartwatch 3, Gear 2 Neo, and was connected to my Fibit Charge HR and Microsoft band. The Fitbit Charge HR got a firmware update and then would not pair with my S6, but would pair with my work iPhone. So I thought it was defective. But it pairs with my old S5. So I went into bluetooth settings and did a scan and it will not see it. So, I stupidly unpaired my microsoft band and now it's now recognized at all. The SW3, G2 Neo are paired, as well as my Sync in my car, but show up in bluetooth as "Not Connected" even though they are. This is frustrating and I don't want to go back to my S5. Everything else seems to work okay - just the bluetooth. Anybody have any thoughts? I'm on the latest OTA, OFE.

SO no one's got any ideas. I have wiped cache both while normally running and by booting into recovery. Bluetooth still hosed. Would a factory reset help?

@kbboykin Does your devics keep a bluetooth pairing history? If so delete it and try again. Have to do that with a lot of my devics

I don't think it does. See screenshot. All of these devices are paired and connected, but bluetooth says they are "Not Connected".

Galaxy Nexus Bluetooth issues.

I have Galaxy NEXUS yakju, otad stock 4.1.1 stock everything. But every time I try to connect to my platronics k100 it doesn't show on the list. I have to reboot both devices several times before my gnex sees the platronics. I then go to pair the device but I get cannot connect to pk100 either wrong pin or passkey. I cannot find away to enter a passkey. I tried clearing the Bluetooth cache to see if that helps but nothing. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a fix? Could this be because of the new radio that dropped? I never had this issue with ICS.
I'm also stock 4.1.1 GNex. I had perfect BT behavior with several devices with ICS, now have a problem with my car's built-in BT hands-free phone (2007 BMW 328). Pairing is fine. About every other phone call I'm told they can barely hear me over the noise but my audio is fine. I've paired and unpaired, and I did a complete wipe before installing JB. Very frustrating since everything worked great with ICS. Also no problems with 2 other BT headsets and connecting to 2 different PCs via BT.
Hello,
Did either on of you find a fix for this?
Thanks in advance
Bluetooth Connectivity Problem

I can pair bluetooth, cut it wont connect!!

Hi all,
I have been using a N7100 for nearly a year now, and this is the first time this has happened to me.
I am currently running stock 4.1.2.
When i try and connect any bluetooth device (apart from a bluetooth adaptor for my speakers) to my device, it pairs fine, when i click on the paired device to connect it, it just doesnt do anything.
When i used to click on it, it would say its connecting, and then connect, but now it just says paired, and doesnt do anything.
I have tried connecting it with my HTC 8X, Galaxy S2, and Alienware M17x, and its the same for all of them. but if i try pairing it with my fission (cheap brand) bluetooth adaptor, it says its "connected to media audio". and i can play music thru the external speakers.
But it wont work with any other device.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong??.
Does anyone know a fix for this issue?.
I have tried flashing to different versions of stock firmware, but it doesnt help.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Corey

bluetooth pairing issues / delete paired devices

Hey guys,
since I bought my bluetooth headphones (Wearhaus Arc), which are actually pretty cool, I have lots of troubles with them.
When I paired my phone (HTC One M8 running latest official stock unbranded Android 6.0) with the headphones the first time, everything was great.
While using them from day to day I was faced with connection issues. That means, that both my phone and headphones are on, but it takes (almost everytime) a couple of tries to connect them. Even if I tap in the saved devices on the headphone, the connect could not be established. Turning off and on the headphones and bluetooth on my phone was the only way to fix it.
If I finally had a connection, everything was fine. In a few very rare cases, the connection worked at the first go.
Some weeks ago, a new firmware for the headphones was released, so I wanted to install them. During the update process, the updater (Android app) said, that the verifcation failed and the firmware cound no be updated. Same behaviour with the Windows 10 app. Even with another phone it did not work. Seems like, something is wrong with the headphones.
So I contacted the support again (first time they gave me the advice to use the Windows 10 app to update firmware) and told me, that I have to return it for repair. The gave me a return label etc. and I sent it back.
After waiting a few weeks I finally got it back. With zest I turned them on, but the joy was marred, because my phone did not recognize them.
Before sending them back, I unpaired the headphones in order to start over with the new ones. Maybe this was the mistake...
I did some pairing testing with other phones (HTC Sensation, BlackBerry Q10, HTC HD2), which found the headphones immediately and worked fine. So my guess is, that only my M8 has a problem with them.
Pairing, unpairing and "repairing" (pairing again) between my M8 and the other mentioned phones worked well, so there cannot be an general bluetooth issue.
After doing a factory reset on my M8 I'm a step futher, because now the phone sees the headphones (somethimes), but it isn't able to establish a connection. In case I see it, I tap on the available devices, the phone tries to connect, but a second later I get the message: "unable to pair. Make sure your devices are on and discoverable, and then try pairing again". Rebooting the phone does not work. I also cleared the data and cache of the bluetooth share app and performed a network reset like described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-bluetooth-wont-android-6-0-t3340279
My question to guys is, what can I do, to get the headphones to work?
Is it possible, that on the phone is still a piece of information left about the former connection, which refuses any new connection?
Is there a file on the phone, which stores the bluetooth connections? if yes, maybe deleting or editing the file could help?
Thank you in advance!

Bluetooth always reconnecting in car

The problem is to connect Bluetooth on a Moto Z Play Android 7.1.1 patchlevel 2/2018 (current in reteu, was same result with Android 6.0.1 12/2016) with a Volvo XC40 car.
The first pairing with Bluetooth succeeds for a second. Then, nearly immediately, both displays (car and mobile) show reconnecting for about 10 seconds. It has a connect for a fraction of a second, and then is reconnecting and so on.
Trying flight mode and then only Bluetooth enabled on the mobile did not help. IIRC it showed some message about "My Volvo Carnull not bonded" (the name of the car for Bluetooth is "My Volvo Car" and some message with typo, something like "conecnting not successful". After that I rebooted, result was the state before with reconnecting.
Did try this several times. Also did try to reduce the amount of Bluetooth access types the car tries. There are 4 connected: phone, audio, internet, contacts. Did also not help.
Has anyone an idea how to get a successful connection or what the cause of the problem is? Did search for similar problems with Bluetooth in cars, but could not find anything (except for that hint with flight mode which did not help).
What I tried by now:
- Flight mode, only Bluetooth (as already mentioned). No change
- Remove all bluetooth connections. Pair new. No change
- Delete data for sytem app "Bluetooth Freigabe". No change
All other bluetooth connections are working fine. Another Moto Z Play using Android 7.0 (01/2017) is working flawlessly with that car. Strange for me is that it didn't work on 6.0.1 in the same way it does now fail on 7.1.1, but the other Moto Z Play using 7.0 is connecting stable.
Still the question: Does anyone have an idea how to get the connection working?
Factory reset?
I see that you deleted all bt connection but do you have some apps that are using bt? Like for smartwatch, headphones...?
I have Amazfit and watch must be connected to be able to pair a new device. Drow me crazy first time when I had that problem. I thought that car audio is broken, then phone... After pairing, watch doesn't have to be connected to reconnect.

I was afraid this reply could come. When doing a factory reset, I do following: Pack /data/media somewhere because Nandroid omits this. Backup all partitions using twrp. Backup all apk using adb. Export SMS. Export contacts. Screenshots of the launcher screens. All this takes about 2-3 hours. Then I struggle a week until my device behaves like before. I'd be willing to do it if I saw a reason why it could help.

Headphone, yes, there is August EP650 configuration tool that is not necessary. Thank you for the hint, will try it. Also I read somewhere it may help to delete cache partition, that's also worth a try before doing factory reset. Maybe I'll wait for Oreo before trying factory reset, could be they fixed some bug there.
Edit: BatOn which shows Bluetooth battery for external devices could also be the culprit.

That's a strange behavior indeed. Amazfit seems to do something wrong.
It doesn't get any better if you upgrade to Oreo, I've been having problems with my Moto Z play disconnecting and reconnecting to the radio in my Corolla constantly ever since I went up to nougat. To be honest I just bought a good pair of headphones and stopped using the radio. Good luck though, if someone finds something that helps let me know.
I'm using bt with car audio, headphones, smartwatch... No problems at all, except one with Amazfit. And that is related to their bt implementation, not Moto fault.

Seems the last action to remove Bluetooth related apps was the right one . There were two apps installed:
1. BatOn showing the state of battery of connected Bluetooth device
2. August configuration app for August EP650 headset
Removed both as they are usually not needed and it seems to work now. Will see later if it only worked for the short test I did today (currently I try to avoid driving because of an injury) or if it keeps stable.
Good, you didn't have to factory reset after all

Question Poco F3 Not connecting to my car

I am new to Poco. This is my second post. I have got Poco F3 5G, MIUI 12.5.1.
My car is Kia Stonic and it is approximately 3.5 years old.
By Bluetooth, I paired my Poco with my car without any problem. It even downloaded my contacts too.
But it just WILL NOT connect to my car when I turn the engine on.
So far I reset my car Bluetooth system, unpaired then re-paired on my telephone. It still will not connect to the car.
My old Moto G7 plus connects absolutely fine.
Hopefully you guys might have few suggestions.
Thank you.

have you tried searching in settings for android auto, then tinkering with those settings?
oh, i was assuming you have an android auto enabled car... do you?
Failing that, not ideal, but you could try an auto connect app...
see here
Hello reg66, before answer you, I wanted to wait until the software update of my car done.
Unfortunately it didn't help.
The only way my POCO F3 5G connects to the car by USB cable via Android Auto. I suppose it is OK to connect by cable but every short journey I make I have to use this cable....very inconvenient.
It will be connected to my car even if I take the cable out until I turn the engine off.
As you have suggested I have tinkered with the settings of Android Auto but my efforts were to no avail.
On the other hand my old phone Moto G7 plus connects to the car as soon as I turn the engine on....Via Bluetooth.
So I suppose the culprit is my new phone.....Thank you.

What about using one of those auto connect apps I linked to.... So that when you're car is detected it auto connects and launches android auto...
Ohh yes, you have just reminded me....Any particular one you may like to recommend?
i have a sonata 2018 and i had the same problem when i tried to connect my tablet Huawei tab 10.1
any way i had to go inside the care screen setting and just randomly clicked something in my Bluetooth setting and it worked
in the link you will a way get inside the car setting and look for Bluetooth stuff
sorry for my bad english i hope i helped you
for just auto connect (let us know if your android auto launches successfully when connected) this one looks to have good reviews....
but i had a thought.... have you reached the maximum allowed registered devices in your Kia? Try deleting one/some of the connected devices in your Kia's bluetooth settings, that may then allow auto pairing of new devices

Thank you Reg. I'll have a look at that link.
I had already deleted the other devices anyway.
