Change phone model. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
On my phone the software say that my model is D852G but when I remove the back, its printed D850.
What does that mean? Is it possible to change to D850 on the software?

I wouldnt recommend it
In your case its probably using D850 hardware but software wise its been rebranded as a D852G. I can safely say if you try to flash a D850 firmware i might work but you will probably encounter alot of issues like described in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/us990-converted-to-ls990-calls-data-t3088944
Your senario is just like the LS990 and the US990 and how they have the same hardware but different software

[Q] Motherboard Changed From E988 to a E980 at LG Service Centre?

Hi guys in urgent need of your opinions. When I went to an LG service centre after my phone died they replaced my mobo (E988 Singapore) with an E980 one. Soon after before I managed to root and unlock its bootloader I checked through the device details and the funny thing is that I realised it doesn't tally with any AT&T or non-AT&T E980 models as the model number was just listed as E980 and if I remember correctly the version number for the firmware listed it as an EU device?
I went forward with modding the phone and everything went well until recently when I tried to switch recoveries from CWM to TWRP. Unfortunately due to the confusion regarding my hardware (whether it was really an E980 or E988) I mucked up the process and am left with soft bricked device. Any ideas how to fix this? I don't know which KDZ file to flash for my situation. Please help me solve this as I really need to use the device urgently.
I think you'd be fine just treating it as an e980 and flashing back to stock
So I should just use any of the E980 kdz? I don't wanna risk hard bricking the device but I'll try it when I get the chance.

Unable To UNROOT LG G3 Korea, Help!

So I bought a rooted LG G3 Korean version (back then i didn't know it was rooted). MODEL d855.
So I looked it up how to unroot it and I found many solutions on how to unroot it, but most of them used LGFlashTool so i went with that method; had everything downloaded but i couldn't find any firmware documents for LG G3 Korean version, so i used different ones such as: European, Hong Kong and many others that i can't remember but all seem to fail to download, all of them stopped at 6% after my failure I decided not to unroot it. But whenever I turn my phone it goes to download mode/firmware update. I have tried holding multiple buttons and taking the battery in and out but nothing seems to work. So now i'm here with my new phone stuck in download mode.
Can anyone help me Unroot it or find a way to exit download mode? I just want my phone back cuz right now it was a waste of money.

what i know is that D855 is the international version, While korean version have a F400 model number with a suffix base on their service provider in Korea (e. F400L for LG U+)
it seems that you need to flash the correct firmware to recover your phone. (it's important to know what model number you have)

My knowledge on phones isn't that great but before i tried to unroot it i looked up how to find my model number and somewhere in the settings i found that it was the D855 and under my battery it says D855 and under that it says made in Korea.
So the Koreans have the F400 but i have the Korean D855, well now i'm totally confused

Can I update from kitkat directly to marshmallow? Plz help

Hello, I recently bought this phone G3 model D855 and would like to install the latest stock marshmallow version. Right now I have 4.4.2, so I am wondering if it is safe to flash marshmallow direct or do I need to update it to lollipop first. Also if you can direct me to the files I need and the procedure. Thanks
Some info about my device
Android 4.4.2
Kernel version 3.4.0
Buils number KVT49L
Software version D85510n
It is rooted
Also I checked the imei number on several sites, and it is showing Sprint as carrier, model LG LS990 suffix ASPRTN how is that possible if its model is D855, which is also printed back inside the cover. Also my imei ends with 855, so which firmware should I install for Sprint LS990 or D855 model?

Need help..

Hi
I bought the used g4 two days back. In the about section its showing h815 model with android 5(lollipop).
I updated it to marshmellow using LgUp and lg firmware. But after upgrading sim is not working . I reverted back to lollipop and still sim not working.
After not finding any solution i went to the technician , he found the board inside is of h810(at&t) model. While the software is showing h815.
So anyone of you know how to solve this problem. Sim was working before perfectly.

Maybe flash a h810 at&t ROM. Verify the actual model of the phone by removing the back cover and looking for h815 or h810. It's also possible you have a h810 motherboard in a h815 shell.

On board h810 is written. But software showing h815 model. Any idea..?
I believe this is a dodgy repair. As htr5 suggested, I would try an H810 kdz.
I have skimmed over these issues a few times but taken no real notice as I just keep repairing mine through carrier insurance every time I get the bootloop.
Is your IMEI still showing *#06# if sim not recognised now?

Yes imei is showing. As currently the phone is running h815 software. If i flash 810 kdz through flash tool , will it cause any problem or brick ..?

Great idea from SavageRobot. Type your IMEI number into http://www.imeipro.info/check_lg.html and it should pull up your phone's model number
I have seen this issue a bunch specially here lately people piecing g4s together.
Flashing diffrent firms crossin.
Go off the imei. This is always real touchy. Cause of cross flashing and bricking. To completly verify. Check imei and pull back of case apart and look at any model nums on the motherboard

I have seen a few people with this problem. One such post suggests to take the phone apart and look at the motherboard. Whatever model is on the motherboard is the one to go with
