I'm doing some testing and other stuff and I need the baseband and modem in a flaahable zip format for use with twrp should I screw up. Can anyone plz help? I have the g920p and ill be testing the g920t roms. Just came back to sprint this week for service hehehe...... so I'm looking to get some potential new ROMs for our devices either by port or whatever.
Sorry if this is not the place for these kinda questions but I'm an impatient bastard and I don't have time to scope the web for a proper placement for these questions, wth all respect. please and thanks for the help.
I've gotten the tmo roms to boot however...
However I need the baseband for our s6 to have service and,the like.....can someone, anyone get me a twrp or flashfire flashable baseband for OCF or OE2? I've looked and looked and can't find a thing. I've tested a couple tmo roms and yes They boot up and all is well, except no signal, no baseband or anything of that nature. In my past flaahing adventures, I know flashing a baseband will at times fix,the lack there of. Help me plz and thankyou.

Wouldn't this be a kernel or rom issue? Generally, custom roms don't touch the baseband, only carrier OTAs.
Its a modem/baseband issue. It says, unknown baseband and all that stuff and the other radio like stuff is gone also. I believe a,baseband being flashed would resolve this issue. Everything else works like a charm.

So you're flashing GSM ROMs...for a CDMA device...it's not a baseband issue...it's a ROM/kernel issue...
Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Well I'm flashing every kind of rom. I REALLY,would just like the damn base and/modem please. I'm flashing all roms and the baseband and imei is broken on GSM on the cdma only the baseband is broken. This request of mine shouldn't be a matter of interrogation....more a matter of helping someone out who would like yo experiment and possibly find a way to run any rom on our devices. Be its cdma or GSM more or less the g920f as its global the the g920v/I/k roms or whatever is cdma.
No no sir that isn't what I'm seeking.....I require the modem so I can experiment with other roms. I need the modem.bin or the modem. I need this desperately. I don't mean to be rude but this should be simple to acquire from a well known and well experienced dev or someone like a dev. Can you or someone please help?

Djvoleur, i too have a sprint s6 thats gsm unlocked and ive tried plenty of stock/rooted kernels for our device with tmobile, att, verizon, sprint s6 edge, and even international cooked roms . Most of them boot when using your kernel . Theyll work with vkernel or unikernel, but as he was saying, although he was rude, the baseband is always unknown. No signal, sometimes you wont even see a X for no signal. Do you have any ideas i could try ? Ive got plenty sprint s6 phones to try this on and not worried about a brick. I know the risks. I titanium backup restore my personal phone nearly 3 times a week to figure this out. Not enough people bounce ideas off one another in this forum
Have you tried a note 5 rom? I would assume the issues from a note Sprint note one wouldn't be the same as the connectivity settings would be the same. The issue would probably be more of a hardware/programming problem. At this point, I think it would be an easier port since our device isn't as similar to the international device as we once thought it could be.
Never tried note 5 rom . I dont think that'd work without a port of device drivers n such

Hey guys
CSpire Wireless formerly Cellular South has finally released their Galaxy S3. The model number is SCH-L710. The reason I am asking this question here and not in a different carriers forum is the L710 in model number. I don't pretend to understand why certain carriers GS3's are labeled with different model numbers, but I thought that since your GS3 and mine both have L710 I thought that possibly the hardware was closer to the same than say verizon's which is a completely different model designation. That being said I am desperate for a custom rom but don't wanna just go flashing any GS3 roms out there to see if any will work on my network. I would feel more comfortable knowing that I had a way to odin flash a stock rom in case any problems arise. Anyway if someone is kind enough and generous enough to help me locate a stock odin flashable rom, then I would be willing to help in any way I can to find a usable rom or port for my version of this great phone.
Thank you so much in advance
I went ahead and flashed the latest CM10 nightly for the Sprint version. Everything seems to be fine, except for data. I still have data, but it is very flaky and won't hardly hold a signal. I suspect it to be the PRL or CM itself.
We definitely need a stock rom for CSpire. I am willing to help any way I can.

Good luck finding that. Cspire keeps things like that unattainable. Unless *228 will work properly to update prl. Should anyone come across it please let me know. Bout to flash CM10
What about using QPST or something to pull the PRL off of a stock device? Can we get someone to do this before flashing any ROMs?
Okay. First of all, I didn't think to look at the PRL before I went and flashed the Sprint CM10. But now it says 20005. I restored my nandroid backup and pulled this PRL from my phone with QPST 2.7.374. In DFS Tool, I noticed there was a CSpire PRL 10009. I wrote this PRL to the Phone and am getting much better service on the stock TW ROM.
HOWEVER, I flashed the Sprint CM10 again and the same thing happened. It says PRL 10009, but there is little to no service and when it does have a little service, it is very flaky and eventually ends up with no data connection at all. Any more suggestions or ideas?

qpst still says no phone under the phone column no matter what i try
So far, this is what I have done:
First I used the following tool to download drivers for my phone and root ( via option 4 in the program).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746680
I used CWM to make a nandroid backup.
Next, I flashed the latest CM nightly for the Sprint version here:
http://get.cm/?device=d2spr
After doing this, everything worked fine, EXCEPT for data. I dialed *228 and let it do its thing. I actually had data, but the signal was extremely weak and very flaky. After messing with settings it would usually drop it altogether.
I restored my nandroid backup and noticed that although I had data, it seemed to be weaker than before ( although that may just be me).
I decided to follow the following guide on how to get the PRL from the phone:
http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/419514-how-get-prl-off-your-phone.html
The version of QPST on that post was outdated, so I found and used QPST 2.7.374, which I posted a link to earlier in the thread.
I managed to copy the 20005 PRL off of my phone and saved it.
I then started up DFS Tool and wrote the CSpire 10009 PRL to my phone.
I get much better service on the stock ROM, but the Sprint CM builds still do the same thing. No data.
UPDATE: I did a *228 to get back on the 20005 PRL and it is working just as well as the 10009 PRL now.
Also, as OBSt4l0n discovered, there's simultaneous voice and data. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this or if this was happening before flashing roms
and PRL's.
Okay. We no longer believe it's the PRL causing the problems. More info to come. May be slower over the weekend with weekend stuff and all.

Out of curiosity, Could it be the APN's causing the issues? And from what I've seen the vzw variant seems closer to the cspire. but its hard to say. Just to try and eliminate possible causes, I would reccomend flashing this here and see if you get the same issues. http://goo-inside.me/devs/aokp/d2vzw/aokp_d2vzw_jb_build-4.zip Its AOKP for the vzw variant. I have used it as my daily driver for the past week and I'm on Sprint. Dont have to change anything in it, just flash.
Just my 2 cents

Thanks. I'm tempted to try this but the only problem is I don't have a way of going back to stock. I did, however make a backup through cwm but I wish there was an absolute stock cspire rom out there. I would love to test out developer's roms and provide feedback if somebody knows where I could get a stock rom to flash for cspire's gs3....

Just tried this and still no data. We need a dev to look into this. Apparently there is something internal in code stopping our radio from functioning properly. I have attempted to pull my RIL file and insert it in cm10 then rebooting and no luck. Still no data. Any devs out there willing to look into this for us?

First of all I would like to say this is my first post and I am feeling very optimistic as I have seen all the great things you guys have done over here! I understand in order to solve my problem I will have to be as detailed as I can, but please bare with me as I am a noob to this stuff and seem to have run into some trouble
Okay so I got a new S3 Last week and wanted to try it out on some new custom roms, I flashed it to CM 10.1 nightly using the roms downloaded via GooManager, all was fine and I had no problems until i flashed to a newer version of the nightly build and lost my signal, it always said Emergency calls only.
This happened to me once before but I solved it by flashing a modem file via Odin, since then I had to preform full system reset as I was considering selling my phone, it didn't come to that and now I am back to square one and once again I have no signal.
I have tried flashing the same modem file as I did before with no effect this time round
I have since tried many different modems and completely forgot which one has worked in the past. I have no back up files what so ever so I need to know what it is that is causing it not to get a signal. Could it be the kernel I am using? or is there a pacific modem for my ROM which I need.
I understand this is my own fault and stupidity, you guys are my last hope, I have also tried stock firmware which also has no signal.
It is an international i9300 with UK T-Mobile.
Please help me save my phone!
I hope you didn't flash a Tmobiles modem, because international gs3 and SGH-T999 aren't similar I believe other than looking the same. And more than likely you've lost your IMEI. Please goto settings and check your IMEI. Please do not post it, just verify if it's 0 or a 16 digit string.

Welcome to the forum! Albeit not quite the right one.
You need to post this in the international forum. This is for the US/Canadian models only. They are very different from yours, and not many people here will know much about it.
Do not flash anything you find here! It is highly likely to brick your phone. If you flashed our modems. Consider yourself lucky and now you know why it isn't working. Check with the guys in the other forum for your next step though.
I wish you luck!

You're going to end up having to flash the modem that's for your phone, or maybe Odin stock.
You are right I have no imie number just a 16 digit string :/ sorry guys for posting in the wrong arearly next time I will make sure I will post correctly.
I am strating to get concerned, is this an easy fix? I dont mind wiping any data or using a certain Rom I just don't know which modem to use, some modems show me my bars but it still wont get any service. This one currently just shows a circle and cross icon with no bars at all. I am running stock.

I apologise thank you for the link, if I run into anymore trouble I will post to the correct section. I am glad to inform you I have solved the issue. It turns out I installed a bad modem which actually changes the file type of type of the efs folder. Causing roms to not reading it properly.

I fixed the issue by installing a stock firmware found on this post...
http://50.23.216.69-static.reverse.softlayer.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
This firmware carries a modem file which can read the modified efs folder, and in result restoring my IMEI Number and signal even after I flashed the rom to CM 10.1.
I hope some one else can stumble on to this and it helps them, please be aware though I have an intervention Galaxy s3 and this may not work in the states or other parts of the world.
Thanks again massive help, its people like you that make this the best source of information on the internet!

Congrats, I'm glad you rectified the problem! Remember for next time, when you're not able to access data or you're stuck at 2G that your IMEI has most likely went! For future reference, I recommend making an EFS backup. We've all been there before and we know the scare!

Yesterday I flashed S4 Revolution v8.0 [ROM][4.3 MJ9] then I lost my signal and imei and the baseband version is empty although I wipe my cash and data before flashing this rom.
I don't think that's a Rom we have for our device, unless I overlooked it.
Googled it and came up as an I9300 Rom. If this is what you flashed consider yourself extraordinarily lucky it's not hard bricked!
Odin flash the firmware for your model only! Hopefully that fixes it.....
And NEVER flash a Rom not for your model device.

Hi guys,
Firstly I would just like to say I have searched for 20 mins to try and find a solution, although I have found little bits and pieces of what it could be I have lots of questions unanswered. I have had a Note II for around 6 months and although I have done lots a tweaking, tried out lots of roms I would still consider myself to be a noob but im trying to catch up with you lot!!
So then despite my signal bars saying there is signal my Note II (GTN-7100) is getting a error message saying (selected network o2 unavailable)
I tried all the obvious such as cleaning sim with rubber, reinstating roms galore and going back to stock rom completely and removing the root, again the same error message appeared. This started when I installed bobcat rom I think its fantastic a good solid rom but what I want to know is why will my device only regester to my network on bobcat rom? If it was the sim card it wouldn't work even on bobcat rom right? I thought the answer was a modem issue so I remembered that on one of the roms I cant remember which one right now had the option to install different modems on Aroma so I installed each and every modem option there and still no good so that's when i started searching the internet. I came across the great XDA developers website and watched the beautiful noob video! so for anyone that wants a bit of incentive ..... I promise to kill myself if someone helps me, what more could you want than 1 less noob on the planet! baseband version on bobcat rom is n7100dxdmf1 with the imei 353627052355057 and on any other rom the imei is 004999010640000 and baseband n7100xxdlk7 so I dont no if that has anything to do with it ... anyway thanks guys keep the good work up and any response is highly appreciated!!!

Thanks for getting back to me, yes its exactly the same on stock rom
I understand there is a problem flashing older modems once you flash dmf1 onwards I think its something to do with partitions. Im sure if you odin a stock dmf or dmg rom your problem will dissapear. You see wheb you are on other rom your imei goes to default. 0049 etc which is generic. This will not allow you to connect to network
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I'll suggest you go to Settings and check if you are registered on the correct network, this doesn't seems to be a problem with the ROM else try to flash it using any custom ROM and check, even if its not fixed, then probably the issue is with the phone.
so before i go flashing any new roms that come out for this thing, i need to know, is this phone like the S3 was (and many others i think) where i can flash any rom that is made for T-Mobile onto the wind phone? what about roms for rogers/bell/telus, as the model number and baseband number for the phone is all the same (SM-N900W8 is the model, baseband is N900W8VLUBMI5). i know that the Tmobile note has a number ending in MI7 and then the two numbers right after the N900 are different, but those two numbers, i was told, are maybe for something to do with country code and shouldn't really matter?
please help me figure this out, as i'm sure lots of other wind or other canadians are wondering the same thing.... got my phone rooted and flashed with TWRP and am just waiting to find out if i can flash the darthstocker mod onto my brand new phone, but i don't want to risk screwing it up if i can't
thanks for any and all help

How do I do that? Do I have to pull it off of my phone? Is there a way to extract my phone's stock Rom to my computer so it is Odin flashable?
Is flashing a Rom while keeping my kernel something even somewhat straightforward?

Just make sure the rom you're flashing doesn't include a custom kernel (most of them dont, just be careful though). To answer your second question, no you cant make a odin image, but you can use the official one (find it in your carriers section)
The carrier one is mitt available yet, otherwise I wouldn't be asking if I can pull my own. Can you pull the one off your phone using terminal emulator or anything else?

Ive done a lot of reading in regards to this. almost every place I read says other roms should flash on device not of those carriers. reason im investigating this is because CM for sprint has all the sms issues. and after reading through all the tmo roms im not seeing anyone mention sms issues. every time I try to flash another carriers rom it reads that they are carrier specific and fail. is there a way I can make another carriers rom flash to sprint. my device is unlocked, though im using a sprint sim for lte and from what im reading also, its just a matter of an apn setting for sprint, and/or a radio flash for sprint. anyways, comments?

I wouldn't flash another carriers roms. it can make your phone brick and just a paper weight. other carriers have different settings and files that our phone doesn't..i don't know how to explain it better but I don't recommend it

That is kind of unfortunate if that's the case that SMS doesn't work right out of the gate on Sprint CM ROM's then. While I have gotten used to it, it does get annoying after a while having to reconfigure using the *#*#4636#*#* method every time.
I have tried to flash a few other carrier based ROMs via TWRP but they typically fail anyways (which is probably a good thing). I don't think I've ever actually successfully flashed another carrier based ROM through TWRP.

You can't just flash a tmobile rom on this device. It sounds like to me you need to get your phone unlocked to use tmobile sim. I would suggest http://www.idoneapps.com to sim unlock your phone.
I have no idea what you mean by password screen. What firmware are you on? How did you root your phone? Did you turn off reactivation lock?
I can try to help you but i need to know more detail of your problem. And do understand I'm limited on time i spend here. I'll check back when i can.
