[Q] Xperia Z1 compact Apps issue - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I've been using z1 compact for 1 year & and haven't had suffered any problems. Now i've Lollipop for 3 months, the problem i've is that media files mp3 dissapeared in Walkman/Music App, it says no content available or folder is empty, i can play files only from File commander or Downloads app via Music app but during playing it still says unknown song unknown artist, which have never been before, does anybody sufferef this kind problem on your devices? I tried to clear cach and app data in settings, restarted the device several times, have tried safe mood boot, but not helped at all, i've reinstalled lollipop software via sony companion, yes it helped but after some time after auto app updates has started and finished the same problem's started again.
Anu suggestions?
Thanks

Only one........... Go back to KK

You have a .nomedia file on your phone. Delete that end will be fine.

stock music player problem

i am on stock froyo.i hv deleted some songs.but my music player is still showing them.there are multiple copies of one song in the list.i hv tried everything.cleared data cache for music app but no luck.
can anyone help me?
Use root explorer and go here data/data/com.android.provider.media/databases.
Delete all files with "external" name in database folder. Restart your phone and a new database will be created base on your SDcard (music) content. will take some little time for the creating of new database, so be cool..
thanks for the tip dude.but m not rooted.m on stock froyo.
You need to root the phone. Quite easy though..
Step applied the same on froyo or even gingerbread.

[Q] CM9 - How to update my music library

Hello,
My music player doesn't detect the new music I copied from my pc to my sdcard.
If I open the music player I only see the old music, but not the new music I recently copied to my mobile.
I already delete "data" by going to Settings/Apps and rebooted my mobile multiple times, but it still doesn't detect my new music.
I put the new music files to /music on my card, like the other files and the files aren't broken or sth like that. Normal mp3 files with id3 tags.
Can someone help me?
I'm running the latest CM9 on my Wildfire S.
What music app is that? Is that the one that comes in the ROM?
I suggest you try Apollo or the Google Play music app.
I'm using the stock cm9 music app,
already tried apollo and googlemusic app but without any success
I have the same problem on the Alpha1. Is it a bug? The sd card not reindexing media files after a remount from the PC?
aah, good to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem here
yes, I'm running the alpha1, too.
maybe you are right *se-nsei. and it's a bug.
Any idea how to fix it?
I'm really get tired of listening to the same music over and over again
I have no problem with that im using google play.
Fc when im using stock cm9 music but the problem its not about music library.

Try this app
for a temporary fix use this app! It worked for me!
Rescan SD Card!
The "rescan sd" app works. I think its a good solution for now. I hope it will be fixed with the next Update. Hope that the ums bug will be fixed soon, too.
Thanks for your answers guys
I think Dev Tools has a media scanner that you can run which SHOULD update the music library and gallery but haven't tested that with music on cm9 yet (Worked on cm7).
Solution is here !!!!!!!!!!!!

[Q] Music problem

Hello, today my One X have a weird problem.
Almost all my music files can't be played by the default music player (VLC instead works without problems).
Today I did those things:
Used MTP storage of my One X with Ubuntu (created a folder and copied a picture)
Uninstalled HTC Locations
Installed Music Hero (game) (it can't play my songs.. So I dunno if it broken that or if my songs was already broken when I've installed it)
And... in my picture gallery few images are not ok, I see a triangle with a "!" instead of that.
I already tried to re-copy all my music collection but the problem still..
Can someone help me? Thank you
edit: I've restored an old recovery backup but the problem isn't fixed..
Try restarting the phone or connecting / disconecting it from the USB plugged to the PC/mac , had similar issues few times, sometimes player or gallery can't show anything, like there isn't any files lol. Anyway those 2 fixed things for me. Good luck with yours =)
There's been times when my files haven't worked until I reboot the phone after putting them on the SD card.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I tried to wipe the sdcard but without success.. the problem still.
So I wiped all and installed the new version of maXimus ROM, now all works good.

Xperia M [4.12] Album App setting Wallpaper error.

Hello !
I recently rooted my Xperia M (4.1.2, 15.1.B.0.2, SuperSU) and cleaned out a few system apps I didn't want (mainly anything linked to social media stuff).
Unfortunately, I tried deleting the Album app to use one I find better, but it seems the system needs it to set wallpapers.
I re-installed it as a normal app (on the internal storage).
The problem :
Wenever the system tries to access the resizing tool (wallpapers and a few things in apps I use), I get a "com.android.album has stopped working" or "Album has stopped working" message. I looked around, and I believe it is because I deleted the "SemcPhotoEditor.apk", or because Album is no longer a system app.
What I tried :
I tried using a file manager (Root Explorer) to copy SemcPhotoEditor.apk to the /system/app/ folder, but it fails and the phone immediately reboots (same thing with Root Browser).
On top of that, I tried installing a SemcPhotoEditor.apk I got from someone's clean system dump, but it can't read it correctly.
Any Help ?
Could anyone help me figure out how to repair my Album app (I tried re-installing it), or help me install the SemcPhotoEditor.apk ?
PS : sorry for the title, I forgot a "."...

Which rom/os you are using? Either your problem is not about hardware. Check the file properties if they're System Protected (Windows), these files mostly won't shown in phone, this is said to be virus problem. Which is the company of your memory card? Because cheap mc's from unknown vendors can cause such problem!

I don't think that Linux<>Android really needs a antivirus and it is useful for scan a virus, I'm talking about your PC's or Lappie's if & only if it's windows in case you've you've had plugged?
