recovery for S4 MINI GT- i9195i - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please answer my question. I search this forum, but don't find any solutions. I need functional recovery for rooting my phone.
It is a new S4 mini VE GT-i9195i (snapdragon410, 64bit, sold from 01/2015) i9195iXXU1AOD2.
Thanks for any help and sorry for my bad English.

well...
according to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/help/i9192i-s4-mini-plus-root-t3107766
there is no way. since nothing about the GT-i9195i has shown up here.

As far as I know there aren't any custom recoveries for that model as of yet. However people have had success rooting it using the program kingroot.

Correct but it isn't the latest su binary nor does it work with all apps that need root.

He can maybe try rooting it with kingroot and from there he can use "rashr" (flashify doesnt work with kingroots su, rashr does) to flash any kind of boot.img and recovery.img without an custom recovery.
Or he can install "Super Sume" it will remove all the stuff from kingroot (wich brings also their app purify when rooting) and removes kingroot su binary and immidiately installs normal supersu binarys and update to latest binary.
Just here to help out

Stock european firmware s4

I have offloaded an iphone 5s to delve into the fun world of rooting android, I did so 1st with the cyanogenmod website,
then dared to try a Filipino stock firmware (I9505XXUFNBE_I9505OLBFNB3_I9505XXUFNBE_HOME.tar.md5) to try and get full use of the camera (specifically HDR) using Odin, again a breeze... BUT not being satisfied I asked google how to get rid of yellow triangle, and use super user rights to hopefully get total stock running so I can finally d/load Barclay banking apps (pingit etc,) just to see if it can be done : )
so I d/loaded both triangle away & SuperSu but triangle away says... superUser access is needed, but could not be acquired. are you rooted and did you give permission.
so... I runSuperSu and that says, There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSu cannot install it. This is a problem?
if you just upgraded to android 4.3 you need to manually re-root consult the relevant forums for your device.
so I'm hoping you guys could give me the right pointers please : )
look forward to coming back for info, cheers : )
if u have CWM flashing SuperSu Zip might help solve it
a little too brief for me to understand, sorry

As far as it goes I think after rooting it with CFroot you should update the SuperSU from the Playstore.
Success

Hello, I was trying to update my note 2 with DN3 kitkat rom today.. But didn't work! :/
I rooted the phone. I got correct root access.
Then followed the instruction to flash the ROM.
After reboot, I could hear the welcome sound(new) and saw the samsung animated logo..then it stuck there. I waited for some 15mins, but nothing happened, only the animated samsung logo.
I saw an issue in TWRP.. saying there was a problem with permission. I don't know what was it. I tried to fix permission, but it failed.
After nothing worked, now I am in the process of recovery from kies.
Perhaps I didn't have the right step by step guide; from rooting the phone to flashing it. :/
If someone could please help, would be great!.. I really want to flash my phone for the DN3 custom rom.
Thanks.
Why do you need to root when flashing custom rom? It is already prerooted. You only need recovery.

As per rooting instruction, it is mentioned that the device must be rooted before flashing a custom rom from stock rom.
While installing the recovery the device is rooted or another way that I tried was to root by CFroot first, which was successfully done then I got the super user access to install a recovery like TWRP,,

SuperSU Error after cf-auto

Hi friendly xda android enthusiasts. I have, after many issues, finally rooted my gt-n5110 using odin and cf-auto. Workered without a hitch. Odin passed, tab rebooted, and BAM, "superSU has stopped working". I immediately navigated myself over to the playstore to reinstall SuperSU and for the first time i have ever seen it wouldnt allow me to. It only gave me a choice to open. No update no uninstall. Going into my apps list it was not present on downloads but was available on device list. Clucked it and no option to uninstall, only to force stop or turn off. So it is incorporated as a system with no access to it. This has me stumped. I have only seen old threads with answers to this and they are temp fixes. Need to know what i can do to fix this on a permanent basis and if someone could help me understand how and why this issue occured it would give me a better understanding and possibly prevent further issues. Thanks in advance guys.
Try the flashable version in this post after you install a custom recovery with odin.

This may be a very stupid question but i have to be sure. As i stated the odin DID pass the auto root and tab rebooted. But along with the superSU error i ran root checker and was unable to obtain root. Im assuming its because supersu is not embedded. So with that said is it still ok to attempt to flash a recovery to the tab?

Yes. Recovery is independent of whether or not you are rooted. You can install it from Android using tools like Flashify once you are properly rooted, but Odin works fine as long as you have a version of recovery in that format.
Flashing SuperSU from a custom recovery once it is installed should fix the superuser problems you are having.

Doing now. Thankyou. Fingers crossed.
I had the same issue on my 5110. The flashable root only worked for me until I rebooted, then it would lose root. What ultimately worked for me was to unroot with Kingo. Then with USB debugging enabled, re-rooted with Kingo (which took around 10 min).

If flashing SuperSU from recovery doesn't result in a successful rooted system someone should let @Chainfire know. I've never had a problem rooting a stock ROM that way but let's see what @mattdiehl83 reports.

I am wondering what flashing tool to use with OS X. Odin is for windows. I know of heimdall but that requires ALOT to flash anything. Wondering if there is another odin like tool for OS X

done.
Hi guys sorry for the delay in update. I ended up using VM ware and it allowed to operate as windows on OS X. I installed TWRP, went into the file manager in TWRP and removed the superSU, i then flashed superSU and rebooted. Once back to the tablet i went and restored services to superSU and went into the play store. And finally the playstore gave me the option the update the superSU. And then the rest was all normal installation of superSU. Hope this thread helps anybody dealing with these issues.
Glad you got it working. :good:
This post in the CF-Autoroot thread might be helpful as well.

I read all the post and didnt found something
YOU DONT NEED TO DELETE SUPERSU 2.0.1
Install 2.02 apk and go to supersu, then to settings and push to /system
This is the easiest way. the one you found: go to recovery delete that and this. download supersu 2.0.2 apk and install it not the recovery zip i mean the APK! i didnt say the flashable supersu zip.
oh wait, yes you are a intelligent boy, you know everything.

That's a bit of a dilemma.
Unfortunately Samsung does not support using fastboot and bootloader mode (they call it download mode) so that standard SDK tool Google provides for Windows, Linux and MAC OS X isn't applicable. Your best bet would be to find a Windows PC that you can use to flash the recovery with Odin since that is the most common and best documented method.
Edit: NVM, somehow I responded to an old post of yours.

[Q] Best way to root

In the ever changing market of roots and exploits I believe it would be nice to have a device specific rooting "poll". the other reason I'm starting this thread is because I can't seem to root my phone tried towelroot but it says my device is not supported. Im running stock 4.2.2 and I want to root mainly so I can back everything up before I custom install stock 4.4.2
Towelroot works for 4.4
Being on 4.2.2 you could try the Safe-Root method depending on your actual Firmware. Otherwise you have to stick to rooting through CWM.
All methods have their threads here. Please read them.
You could also backup your data with adb without root and after update restore this adb backup to your device. So there's no need to root before installing custom 4.4.2
CWM all day! so fast and easy to do plus it's easy to unroot.

http://www.s4miniarchive.com/search/label/Root Find your model version and read the instructions, you won't regret it.
4.2.2 can be rooted using Kingo. Doesn't trip knox.

How To root grand duos gt- i9082?

I have just updated my grand duos to android lollipop 5.1(custom ROM). After installing supersu via CWM, it shows an error that "There is no SU binary Installed, and Supersu cannot install it!". How do i gain root access? I've gone through all the forms but I didn't find the solution to my problem. Even kingroot which used to to work all fine on Android 4.2.2, didn't work for me. Also OTG isn't working on my phone.
Please help me.
