Hi guys
Just wondering after a lot of usage..is the bronze edging still in good shape for most of you??
Im not if it will peel "bronze paint??" after heavy use or is it pure metal?
Thanks

I I've had mine since July and its holding up well. I've had a minor peel near the charging port (unsure how it happened) but its white underneath. Its nothing too big but I am positive its a paint I hope. If you would like a picture of it let me know!
Basically it won't peel under heavy usage. My little brother might have been a little rough when plugging in the charger

I wish the charging socket had a little arrow or something on edge when looking from above, sometimes i have to look at the side of the tablet to connect it correctly, I dont have any paint peeling or missing and hunt around sometimes with the microusb connector before it connects.
John.
Mine has been great. I use it a lot and only have the smart cover.
mines great, it's just ugly as hell and squeaks and creaks like nobody's business.

Ugly? :what:
Use mine loads from buying a year ago and its got no marks and no peel of the bronze.
Mines cracking on the corners even though its been looked after, had same problem with s3 cracked all round the beading even though it was in a case....high prices for low build quality..
No peeling or creaking on either of my Tab S
Mine is holding up well also, however I cheated. I put on a full body skin by Skinomi to protect just this. Highly recommend it.

Are you kidding? That's the reason I bought it over the white. I prefer the bronze as its different . If I'd have wanted an iPad lookalike I'd have bought one.
no peeling since july 2014 .. heavy usage almost everyday
it's Faux Metal guys it's just made of bland grey plastic painted to look like metal

We know. I quite like it, I looked at loads of tablets before buying the tab s and everybody I show it to is impressed with its looks.
It's really quite thin. One main selling point plus the huge amoled display. Never cease to amaze others
Mines holding up alright just slight peel in the top corner.
No peeling, but I have a crack in the corner by the headphone jack hole. I got that on a drop with the Samsung case on.
No peeling. Just a few creaks near volume rocker. Probably due to device heating because of gaming.

I wouldn't get rid of the white phone just because of that. Keep it dude. The white IMO looks way sexier then the black one. When you look at a black GS2 from far away it looks like a normal phone, some even think its a regular gs1 or gs1 4g. whereas when people see the white gs2 they actually ask what phone it is and it looks nice etc...
Also it looks really cool at night (the backlight leaks more in the white)
The shiny portions are determined to come off. you can't do nothing about it. Unless you get those rubber gel cases.

Glad you chose to stick w the white one. Good choice!
I'll see if the coating on the silver bar comes off and exposes a shiny silver instead.
Believe it or not my previous device had similar material in the battery door and that thing scratched like a cat was going at it. So I decided to scratch the coating off w my nails at work one day took me an hour or two but bam it revealed a shiny back door that doubled as a mirror!

Got the Black Carbon Fiber XO Skins for mine and my wife's gnexs. Shipping took 2 days. The install for these are SUPER easy. Unlike with the clear, you don't have to worry about dust and if you mess up anywhere, you just peel it back and stick it back on. I also used a blow drier to make sure it was all stuck just right. I won't be using a case anymore, just the carbon fiber and the clear screen protector for the front. These have a texture to them and aren't the cheap ones that are printed on ebay
Coupons: sprintxo essentially pays for shipping.

They also have a blue and a red, these images are from their site since I didnt buy those

Looks good! I just got my clear protector from your post in the other thread. I have a white nexus and it looks great.

Skin on the front? Or do you mean a screen protector?
@OP, it looks great! Hope it won't leave any sticky residue when after it's being removed.
I was tempted to buy this, then I remembered that I have a pretty good hard case. If I had gotten this, there was no way it'd actually fit in the case.
Sorry, by skin I mean I am using their screen protector. The carbon fiber covers the sides and the back. They say they don't leave anything sticky behind.
Anyone get a Red or Blue that can post a pic so I can add it?
I would love a skin like this but that also adds some protection, something between this and a silicone case.
These things feel pretty strong. I bet they can take a lot
Any comments now that you've had this on for a few months? Any peeling at all? Any scratching, dent/nicks, etc? Getting sick of my case and thinking about ditching it for this. Obviously won't provide drop protection, but I want the scratch protection without having to use one the horrid clear ones.
Still looks good. I haven't dropped it on asphalt or anything, but it seems to hold up well.
It also has a slight texture, I have tried other carbon fiber before that was just slick.
anyone have pix?
I got this skin about 5 months ago. No pealing, though at first it wouldn't stick on the lower beveled edge; I had to hold it on for around 15 min real pain in the ass. I was also fooled into thinking it would completely cover the back of my phone, no slits just 2 pieces it is in fact 5 pieces with gaps. Very disappointed with the appearance.
That being said its a tough skin and I rarely use my case anymore.

I posted 2 in the original post. I would post some more for you but I now have the SGS3. It helps when you install to use a blow drier on the fiber. It seems to kind of melt it down to the phone

I have stop using cases for quite sometime. The main reason is that here in Cambodia it is so affordable and convenient to get gadget flim wrap.
In the past I only use either clear and frosted flims. I opt for colored flim for my SIII.
Here is how it look like.

Is that a wrap on the side as well? if so then how it feel and does it look like it will peel easily? I could use one on my pebble blue phone where the bezel is purple!
I'm going to give the official flip case a try once I finally get my Verizon version of the SGS3 here in the US. I'm bummed out that it doesn't have a magnetic clasp or anything to keep it closed, but at the same time it's a full on case so the phone should obviously handle drops much better. That all being said, the phone is gorgeous and I'm not gonna want keep it hidden! I have the full protection from Verizon so whatever happens to my phone I'll just get another one anyways.
I'm still on the fence. At this point though I'm leaning more towards no case.
i don't think screen protector is of any use because it is gorilla glass
Sent from my GT-I9300
I actually think my white S3 looks better with a Matt black case, because I like the white border around the camera, flash and speaker which contrasts against the black case, and then the black border around edge of phone, I mean not everyone will like that but I dog
I doesn't peel off easily and yes the side is wrapped. So far all the film that the shop doesn't love residue when it is removed.
It is a rough textured. Sort of like mildly used sand paper.

This was not received purposely, my guess is that they packaged up the items and mistakingly sent me somebody elses cause the tracking number they sent me doesn't match what's on the package. I ordered a white carbon fiber battery cover. But I gotta tell ya, this thing is DEAD SEXY! I'm not even mad that I didn't get what I paid for.

Fit and finish:
The finish is beautiful! I'd say the cover is a bit darker than pictured...when I seen it I didn't think gold I though burnt copper. Very nice color and it's accented with the vertical brush marks which makes it look even better. The cherries on top are the chrome trim around the bezel and the chrome trim around the camera/speaker/flash openings. Also, no gaudy "Galaxy S III" name on the back, it has the SAMSUNG logo embossed on the back and it looks like it was machined, polished aluminum. Very nice! Snapping it on to my phone I was impressed at how precise the fit is. The camera is flush with it's opening with the speaker and flash recessed and looking nice with the chrome trim surrounding them. The chrome bezel lines up perfectly with the bezel of the front side of the phone and doesn't clash nearly as much as I thought it would, it blends in nicely. The charger port cut out is spot on as is the headphone jack cutout. After I stopped drooling the first thing I noticed is added weight makes the GS3 feel much more substantial and solid. So far so good.
Cases:
The only cases I have right now are a Fosmon S type TPU and an Incipio Silicrylic Dual Pro. Apparently this cover adds a little girth cause the TPU case didn't work out. I got it on but it would not wrap around the screen on both sides, one side would but the other would just reach to the edge of the bezel. No bueno. The Incipio fit, but it's very tight. That being said, case fit will be hit or miss.
Functionality:
One concern was signal interference. Cell signal strength seems uneffected but wifi is weaker by 1 bar at the furthest point in my house from my router. I haven't tested NFC yet but will later on. Mobile data connection hasn't seemed to take a hit, based on the updates I just completed for a few apps. Haven't tested bluetooth yet either. So far any signal degredation is minimal and insignificant.
This is the first time I'm actually happy the company messed up my order!
I've been wanting to snag one of these, thanks for the write up!

Good idea. However, is the silicone so weak against comparatively not high temperature, that its colour is changing due to the heat?

The color change is too uniform to be from heat of the phone. If it was the heat of the phone you'd see a pattern relative to the hotter places on the phone. I use a Cimo clear case on my M7 and after 3 months of continuous use, it is still as clear as new.
If the heat from phone could do that, than heat of your body (having phone in pocket) would do simmilar..
I think that the case just "yellowed" - typical problem on cheapo cases.
Next time buy dark one or don't put that rubber on it at all.
I think cases which try to be invisible look much more disgusting than those "dark by nature".

Your opinion, of course. My clear case doesn't detract from the phone at all, IMO. It gives a bit of cushion should I drop it and raises the glass up just enough to keep it from contacting the surface dropped upon.
I've got that exact case in black and all though I like transperant cases I can't get over how much the Ones silver looks with black it makes it looks so much more sleek.

Guys...it's just dirt. My friend has a similar white case for his S3 and now it's all brown. It just gets dirty over time. That's why I never buy light TPU cases or any kind of white case. I just stick to black ones.
My Case turned blue somehow. I think it's cause of my trousers. If I have the phone in my pocket its rubbing against the trousers and the colour sticks to the TPU.
That's my thaught..
Wait did it turn brown or blue? You say brown in the title but in your post you say blue.
