I have stop using cases for quite sometime. The main reason is that here in Cambodia it is so affordable and convenient to get gadget flim wrap.
In the past I only use either clear and frosted flims. I opt for colored flim for my SIII.
Here is how it look like.
Don't mind the crappy screen protector. Waiting for the ones from xtremeguard

That actually looks really good! Do you know of any reputable online retailer that does something similar?
Not really sure. I the films are not pre-cut. They do it the old fashion way whereby the stick and cut thereafter

Do you have a link of what film wrap to buy? Thanks
No I dont, what I can do is when I visit the shop the next time I will look for the film maker/ brand.

That would be great thanks
it's just a film, you'll still get a dented casing if you dropping it.

the point of cases are to protect your phone.
if you want it to just look good, then i think your idea is great.
but when the phone drop face down then i dont think there would be any protection

Is that a wrap on the side as well? if so then how it feel and does it look like it will peel easily? I could use one on my pebble blue phone where the bezel is purple!
I'm going to give the official flip case a try once I finally get my Verizon version of the SGS3 here in the US. I'm bummed out that it doesn't have a magnetic clasp or anything to keep it closed, but at the same time it's a full on case so the phone should obviously handle drops much better. That all being said, the phone is gorgeous and I'm not gonna want keep it hidden! I have the full protection from Verizon so whatever happens to my phone I'll just get another one anyways.
I'm still on the fence. At this point though I'm leaning more towards no case.
i don't think screen protector is of any use because it is gorilla glass
Sent from my GT-I9300
I actually think my white S3 looks better with a Matt black case, because I like the white border around the camera, flash and speaker which contrasts against the black case, and then the black border around edge of phone, I mean not everyone will like that but I dog
I doesn't peel off easily and yes the side is wrapped. So far all the film that the shop doesn't love residue when it is removed.
It is a rough textured. Sort of like mildly used sand paper.

I eagerly wait for your review! I have been looking at cases for my SG2, and this one may be the perfect one. This case would make it much easier for designing a tripod adapter.
It looks as though the buttons holes are too deep to use them, maybe it is just how it looks to me. I hope so. I want to get one of these as soon as I know about the button holes.

Those look awesome. However I wonder if they have a liner or something on the inside to prevent damaging the phone itself.
According to the website OP linked they do.

Raises up the camera and screen so as to have less chance of scratches on either, less chance of scratching the sides, which seem to me the most tender in terms of scratches, and offers an easier item to hold. I only want to know if the holes are too deep to use the volume and power button. If that is the case, than I wont buy one. But they do look really :awsm.

Airbrushing isn't that hard, just sand the thing down, prime it, sand it, paint it, then clear coat. Take you about a days wait, with about 2hours work.
if you're lucky, the letters will be in plastic, this way you can use a sugar cube to scratch it off. the reason for the sugar cube is because its not hard enough to scratch the paint/metal off yet strong enough to remove plastic lettering

Got the Black Carbon Fiber XO Skins for mine and my wife's gnexs. Shipping took 2 days. The install for these are SUPER easy. Unlike with the clear, you don't have to worry about dust and if you mess up anywhere, you just peel it back and stick it back on. I also used a blow drier to make sure it was all stuck just right. I won't be using a case anymore, just the carbon fiber and the clear screen protector for the front. These have a texture to them and aren't the cheap ones that are printed on ebay
Coupons: sprintxo essentially pays for shipping.

Skin on the front? Or do you mean a screen protector?
@OP, it looks great! Hope it won't leave any sticky residue when after it's being removed.
I was tempted to buy this, then I remembered that I have a pretty good hard case. If I had gotten this, there was no way it'd actually fit in the case.
Sorry, by skin I mean I am using their screen protector. The carbon fiber covers the sides and the back. They say they don't leave anything sticky behind.
Anyone get a Red or Blue that can post a pic so I can add it?
I would love a skin like this but that also adds some protection, something between this and a silicone case.
These things feel pretty strong. I bet they can take a lot
Any comments now that you've had this on for a few months? Any peeling at all? Any scratching, dent/nicks, etc? Getting sick of my case and thinking about ditching it for this. Obviously won't provide drop protection, but I want the scratch protection without having to use one the horrid clear ones.
Still looks good. I haven't dropped it on asphalt or anything, but it seems to hold up well.
It also has a slight texture, I have tried other carbon fiber before that was just slick.
anyone have pix?
I got this skin about 5 months ago. No pealing, though at first it wouldn't stick on the lower beveled edge; I had to hold it on for around 15 min real pain in the ass. I was also fooled into thinking it would completely cover the back of my phone, no slits just 2 pieces it is in fact 5 pieces with gaps. Very disappointed with the appearance.
That being said its a tough skin and I rarely use my case anymore.

I love this case. My phone has been driven over by a car with this case on. The only thing that got messed up was my screen protector!!
i forgot my s3 on top of my car (I'm stupid yes I know) and I pulled out of a parking lot and heard it fall off as it hit my trunk. I went back around the street, which happens to be a busy road, and found it face down with tire marks on it. I was so amazed the phone was not damaged at all. Its a great case and offers great protection.
The only thing I can say I dislike about the case is that the rubber edges pick up lint as I put in my pocket sometimes. That's the only thing I can really find wrong with this case.

I just got my dualtek case today. I will share my initial thoughts for those who might be interested. I ordered the black version which has a matte finish, I ordered this one because it seemed to have good grip. It's actually kind of slippery. The power button is very hard to press, I hope that gets better with time. The charging port and the headset jack are not covered like in other rugged cases. The case includes a screen protector, I haven't used it but it looks like a cheap one, it doesn't cover the entire screen and it doesn't have circular cutouts for the front facing camera and the sensors. It is a VERY nice looking case IMHO, and it looks like it will hold up just fine under heavy abuse. It doesn't look extremely rugged like the otterbox defender, but it should protect just as good on drops and that sorta thing. Overall it seems like a great case and would recommend it to those looking for great protection at a great price point.

I have had my Otterbox since day one of my Razr Maxx so it's hard to believe a case exist better than it. Then only issue I can say is that sometimes I can make your phone heat up more than normal.
I have never dropped any of my phones.. I have a rubber bumper on the phone just to protect me just in case..
What I was not expecting, was that I would slam the car door on my phone.. it was in my rain jacket pocket that got between the door and the car body..
Ughh..
I have the T-Mobile Jump plan.. so this is gonna cost me $150.. Ruined my day.
The phone works.. but the glass is coming off on my fingers.. cutting them up. So I need to fix this ASAP
The phone is literally 5 weeks old...

Might have, might have not. On my S4 I shattered the Tempered glass pretty bad. Wasn't sure if it saved my screen. Took it off and screen was without a scratch. I've had great experiences with the Iloome one. The regular one, not the flex. And it's way cheaper than Spigens. Plus it feels like nothings on and a little extra protection won't hurt.

Is there any difference in viewing the screen or thickness of the phone?
Looking for a case/bumper that's as low profile as possible, I don't want my phone to turn into a big brick. There are probably threads like this before but I don't feel like searching today!
I would say that you are looking for the LG Snap-On hardshell, I mean the official on. There are two threads in the forum with reviews and pictures.

The LG Hardshell is pretty much the most minimal case you can get. Super thin and extremely low profile. There's some pros and cons to that, but if that's what you're looking for, nothing else compares to it.
I did a review here, with a bunch of pictures: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643884
There's also a large discussion thread here (probably need to skip a bunch of pages to get to people who have it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548058
But my personal recommendation? The Quicksand cases!! See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577289

Don't get those ones, they're quite crap. The 0.3mm TPU cases aren't the normal TPU you would think they are either. They are more like file folder plastic.
I bought a bunch of them, and this is basically how I summed it up.
And comparing it to a plastic file folder.
i know, exactly what i want, ultra slim protection for my pocket, my phone don't touch the floor
I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EV8Y50S/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has pretty much the same texture that the phone has (which I wanted). It's a harder snap on case, but it is thin. My only complaint is when it was new, I would hold my phone with the case resting on my pinky finger (if that makes sense) and it was a little sharp. But now after using it, I dont notice it anymore.

I won't deny that, they are very slim. But they are also extremely cheap, flimsy, and low quality. You'll see when you get it.
Bear motion sand case is the slimest hasn't scratched phone either
