Every time I try to open an existing note in S Note it hangs for a bit, then it says "Unfortunately, S Note has stopped". What's going on?
I'm using rooted deodexed XALJ3 with these mods: TouchWiz 5x4 (reverted later to stock still the same problem), AC!D Audio enhancement, N7100 added multiscreen apps, and a custom android.policy.jar for the reboot to recovery/download mode.
Any help guys?
EDIT: BTW I tried clearing data and also wiping dalvik cache and cache, didn't help.
EDIT #2: Nvm I reflashed the stock ROM through ODIN and it works.
can u help me too?

S-Note not working on Ultimate ROM XXLSA
Hi,
I am using Ultimate N7000 ROM XXLSA Jelly Bean 4.1.2 V5 on my Galaxy Note GT-N7000. I want to install S Note Premium Suite. I have tried with Snote_Q1.apk, com.sec.android.app.snotebook-1.apk. However nothing is working. After installation when i open the application it gives a message that 'Unfortunately S-Note has Stopped".
Please help by providing me the correct apk or zip file for S-Note. Also All Share is not available on this rom.
Best Regards,
reflashing full ROM + CSC and let it boot first, and let it install anything in its stock Sammy recovery before you flash custom kernel is the fix for me..

All sorted now
***MOVING ICEPOP ROM TO SEPARATE THREAD***Here is a good guide to updating your Captivate Glide to the OFFICIAL UCLJ3 update which includes all the fixes that were borked in the Leaked ICS release!
First off I'd like to send credit where credit is due...
Dman3285 (cm10)
Thegreatergood (literom & kernel)
Aquethys (cwmr 6)
Kombatant (ICS tethering fix)
ItsMeBdon (root)
if I missed someone please let me know!
I quickly threw this together as a step by step guide to update your captivate glide with the oficial ICS released in October '2012
I'm new to modding and developing with android code. any help, suggestions and advice is always welcome.
Disclaimer: no member here in XDA developers will be responsible for a bricked device. I have tested this guide myself and has proved to work well. please proceed with caution. Read through the guide before hand!
I will soon jaz up this thread and with permission from the devs that provided the files, post them for downloading here!
Official ICS from ATT Guide
this process is done using a pc running windows os.
neededdin 3.07
Cwmr 6.0
Official ics update
EFS Pro 1.12.6
Samsung usb drivers
7zip
Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip
1.use cwmr to make a backup of your current android system.
2.use efs pro to make a backup of your efs folder. make sure you keep it in a save place like on your pc
3.copy your "clockworkmod" folder from your internal phone memory to your pc. that is your cwmr system backup
if your currently running Dman's cm10, make sure cwmr 6.0 is installed.
there is an option under mounts and storage to mount usb mass storage. connect the usb cable and copy your files!
4.while your usb is connected, copy all your pictures, music and other important files you want to save.
after the update it all may be lost!
5.if you're like me and have apps installed that were not from the market, you might want to use a app backup utility
save them and copy them to your pc for later use!
6.open the official ics update zip and extract the files to your desktop using 7zip.
7.open odin3 (right click and run as administrator)
8.Reboot your glide in download mode by holding the volume up and power together,
be sure when prompted to continue pres the appropriate button.
9.You should now see "Added!" in the message box of odin. click the "PDA" button and select the md5 file you extracted.
10.make sure you UN-CHECK all the boxes except for the pda! THIS IS A MUST!!
11.click start. there will be test displayed in message box! wait till you get a green box showing Pass! and in the message box
display "All threads completed (succeed 1 / failed 0)"
12.remove the usb cable and reboot the phone. you now have the official ics update installed stock with no root.
if for some reason you phone gets stuck on the att splash screen, reboot into recovery and do a factory reset!
13.you will now need to re-flash cwmr 6 using the same method starting with step 8. selecting the recovery file in pda.
14.now to root, boot into cwmr and flash Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip. reboot and you should have root!

Or you could do it this way too haha
1. Cleared everything off my phone via CWMR to start completely fresh
(Follow the directions and download the files from here http://androidromupdate.com/2012/09/08/i927uclh2-ics-4-0-4-samsung-sgh-i927-captivate-glide-firmware-upgrade-official-kiesota-stock-rom/ --basically my instructions are the same as these. If you follow those instructions, continue to step 10 of my instructions to root your glide)
2. booted phone in download mode (up vol +pwr)
3. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash I927UCLH2_I927UCALH2_I927UCALH2_HOME.tar.md5
4. let the phone boot and activated my account and what not
5. went to settings>about phone, software update
6. and got the OTA AT&T push update to I927UCLJ
7. booted phone into download mode (pwr+vol up again)
8. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash CWRM through the recovery.tar.md5
9. restarted the phone
10. went into usb mass mode on the phone
11. put Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip into my external_sd folder (easiest folder for me to get to)
12. unplugged and turned off usb mass mode and turned off the phone and booted into CWRM (vol down+pwr) and flashed the superuser .zip file
13. rebooted phone
Now I have a rooted official ICS 4.0.4
14. I downloaded SuperSu and Root Explorer from the market and my sms+backup for my text messages to get restored
and everything is working smoothly!
next few goals....
1. include dman's EPM mod and Kombatant's tethering fix
2. remove bloat ware and include a different launcher
3. create a cwmr flashable rom!

Sounds amazing. Wish I could do you some good. But I don't know coding all that well other than CSS and a little HTML. No good for programming though. You should have the Navigation Bar, Apex Launcher, MagicLocker, SuperSu, and the bloatware removed all the while making it cwmr flashable. That would be amazing.
Hey does anyone know how to get the 14 toggles bar ? I had it in uclh2 with thegreatergoods build but can't find how to do it specific on our glide. I really miss those functions

It only works on deodexed roms! That's what I'm working on.

Ya I saw that as I read more, I moved my comments into that thread... If we get the smooth sailing theme, 14toggle mod, gps, camera all on UCLJ3 we're going to have a rock solid ICS on our i927's.
I'm reading up on deodex and I'll try it out later this afternoon. I found this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805
I would try deox...but I'd probably brick my phone -w-
hahaha
ok I finally have a possible working zip. flashing not to test before releasing!
I have had much trouble with the updater script in the zip!!
update! failed went to download mode. anyone good with the updater script? if so I'll post the zip
I just got busybox, lucky patcher, Rom Toolbox Pro, and Titanium Backup Pro...don't know what I can do with Rom Toolbox Pro though..but..I thought I saw something about something like that haha

I tried! It was able to flash but on re boot went to download mode! I'm using android kitchen .213. After building the zip and attempting to flash, I get a status 0 error!
Sent from my SGH-I927 using Tapatalk 2
I think there is a bug in the conversion from update-script to updater-script in the kitchen!
the only thing I have done to the rom so far is deodex, zipalign, root, install apex launcher and some other useful apps. also removed some useless bloat and a custom boot animation I think y'all might like
Ill post a link as soon as it uploads to google drive! it wont flash in cwmr 6 I get a status 0 error!
How did you get the rom to deodex? I installed it using xultimate but keep getting errors in Email, exchange, mobile print, phone, systemui and a couple of others...
after copying all the deodex files back on the phone and rebooting I have no phone, no email, and heaps of errors :|
I booted up an ubuntu VM and have installed android kitchen hoping it will work ...
All this just because I want to have 14toggles heh .. next twill be the gay animation menu but thats a simple fix.

I was able to deodex by using dsixda's Android Kitchen. running a ubuntu 12.04 system! as soon as I can figure out how to get it to flash properly I'll look into the toggles!
I am by no means an experienced dev! this is the first rom I have done and its just a modified stock at that! Google and xda search has been my best friend in learning!!
I am uploading the zip as we speak, my internet upload speed is slow! but it's getting there. Hope someone can find the trouble in the script!
here's a guide I found that I have been following to get started with my rom!
http://s2tip.blogspot.com/2012/01/guide-noobs-guide-to-android-roming.html
The GT-P1010 it's a forgotten device by Samsung, knowing that it has the capabilities to run some of the most updated versions of android we are still waiting for advanced developers to port it, In the mean time I bring you today a themed ROM just to resemble the look of android Jelly Bean. It was a pleasure to develop for this device and you end users. In the future there will be more updates based on your feedback and if I still own the device. Now you can grab and go with your tab it has everything you need.
IMPORTANT: Advanced knowledge of what your doing it's required, I'm not responsible for the mismanagement of your device, soft-brick or hard-brick. Still, I'm here to help you with whatever you need.
WHAT'S NEW?
The Android system it's pretty much the same, the ROM is based on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 KPO latest update for UK.
The status bar has been resized and extracted what was not needed, the toggles has been resized as well to gain more notification area on portrait and more importantly in landscape mode, added transparency too.
Theme for Settings and Main Menu is now black
Added new icons to resemble Jelly Bean.
New pop dialogs, menus, bars, buttons, radios, checks and more
Colors for the status bar clock and icons.
Added new JB keyboard
Replaced stock launcher with a modded version of Nemus Launcher, faster and very customizable.
Added new wallpapers to the gallery.
Rooted + busybox
Lockscreen animation and time position
Roboto font
New Sounds and ringtones
MXPlayer with codec
Dolphin + JetPack for full website browsing
[*]Complete animated UI

Did you follow the steps I replied on the General forum?
I would like to know if some else is having the same issue, anyway try this:
Go into Recovery mode, navigate to "mounts and storage" and format
/cache
/data
/system
/datadata
Now start the standard procedure again of installing STOCK KPO and after the ROM
I still stuck on samsung logo boot loop.
What i do is flash from begining (means froyo.had csc file ) than kpo firmware (only pda file)
After that i flash cf root.
In recovery mode i clean all. ( cache, dalvick, battery stat).
Then i flash jbrom rc1.2..wait until 4 mnts its start on samsung boot screen.... and stuck there in boot loop..
Maybe i should wait for other tester. And see the result.

it works in my tablet, really nice JB look.
in a some apps (playstore for instance), a lot of fonts in black apear on black background and white in white background.
superuser doesn't work, it ask you for permission but it fails to give them (voltage control fails at boot, DPI cannot be changed, etc...), usb development didn't work either.
Great thanks for testing! You sure you installed CWM + root that I provided? Have you try updating SU from market. Titles in Playstore may appear white but they will get black when it propertly updates in a few minutes.

i downloaded CWM from somewhere else, the file you uploaded in the first post is only 3.X MB, and cannot be flashed with odin.
I looked for the file somewhere else and the file size is about 7.4 MB.
Original Stock and Debloated Stock Variants for the Samsung Note 12.2 Pro Wi-Fi Version
These roms are simple flashable zips that you can flash from your custom boot manager. It does not use an aroma installer. Instead I made two versions. This should avoid almost all the problems people were having because there are not modifying options in the installer before running it. It is based on the latest software out officially for this model: P900UEU1BNK1
Device and Firmware Info:
Model: SM-P900
Model name: GALAXY NotePRO 12.2 Wi-Fi
Country: Cellular south
Version: Android 4.4.2
Changelist: 2582108
Build date: Mon, 10 Nov 2014 02:08:13 +0000
Product Code: XAR
PDA: P900UEU1BNK1
CSC: P900XAR1BNK1
MODEM: P900UEU1BNK1
Originated from: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/39463/P900UEU1BNK1_P900XAR1BNK1_XAR.zip
YOU NEED TO HAVE A CUSTOM BOOT LOADER. i.e. you will need to have tripped your knox counter. There is no way for the P900 currently to have a custom bootloader and not trip knox to 0x01. Some of the non-wifi variants using the snapdragon setup can do this with TowerlRoot. We cannot
Custom Bootloader:
I use TWRP version 2.8.0 - INSTALL WITH ODIN NOT THE MANAGER.
It can be found here: Download TWRP
Once you have installed the custom bootloader you can now load roms and make and restore backups for your device. The first thing you should do at this point is boot into TWRP and immediately MAKE A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP. First, before anything else. Do this to be safe.
Next you need to choose which version you of the rom you want to flash. Both of these were built mostly from ArchiKitchen and then I did some modifying after but I need to thank JustArchi for making this easier to put together for you guys, take a look at it here. Most will probably go for the debloated version, but some people like an untouched setup.
Steps to Install:
1. Copy this version onto your device, I use my SDcard.
2. In TWRP, go to wipe, advanced wipe and check Cache, Dalvik, Data and then wipe. This seems like it takes a good 5 minutes so don’t think it’s locked up. Let it do it’s thing.
3. Go to Install, select the flashable zip. Flash.
4. You can reboot the system at this point.
5. Startup should bring you to the 4 dots google splash screen. First load takes a few minutes let it do its thing.
6. Setup your device, done. Enjoy.
Near Stock Untouched Version:
This version the system has had no debloating freezing or removal of apps. This version has simply been Rooted, Zipaligned, Deodexed, Added Init.d Support, Busybox Support, Knox has been removed, and supports custom Boot Animations. This is the closest you can get to how the device comes new. The near stock untouched version can be found here:

Your warranty is most likely already void if you have completed the steps to actually flash this ROM, I am not responsible for anything you do with your own device, if you can't follow directions or read that is not my problem. Things that will make your tablet even better:
The Xposed Framework
The Xposed Framework is a custom framework using a hook that works on top of stock android systems that have root access. It is made by Rovo89 and the general thread can be read about here: Click Me!.
The Xposed Framework uses components called modules, which can be loaded on the device in various combinations to achieve many of the functions that used to only be provided by fully customized roms. I use several on my device and will list each below.
Recommended Xposed Framework Modules:
Activity Force New Task
App Settings
Boot Manager
Burnt Toast
Cool Tool
CrappaLinks
Disable Clear Dialogues Default
Disable Batter Full Alert
DitheredHoloBackground
KitKat SD Card Full Access
Remove USB Storage Warning
Samsung Keyboard Short Delay
Smooth System Progress Bars
Wanam Xposed
XVolume30
Xposed Recent Tasks Ram
YouTube AdAway
Allow Youtube Fullscreen HDMI

In case I need more room for something??
Oh I know, one thing. I'll volunteer to do this each time we get a new android version for our tablet. Time permitting.
Whats next?
1. If enough people ask for an app added back in I'll put it back in.
2. I'm experimenting with a version that has the Xposed framework and my setup cooked into the rom.
3. I'm also experimenting with some manual theming and tweaks to add into it, but I don't want to go crazy with it.
Awesome! Thanks for this!
Question: How does one go about developing these variants? Is it a matter of customizing an install through the tablet itself and then making an image of it or is development done completely offline on computer?
I'm curious because I'd like to experiment with making a debloated ROM myself just to play around with.
Thanks!

I do it on a computer completely. That way nothing from my device is taken personally like info etc. Plus it's cleaner. Main thing is you need Linux first and foremost or at least a vm setup running linux. I use ubuntu/kubuntu. That is how the image, kernel etc is compiled and smushed together. I do not think there is a possible way to build a linux kernel in windows.(?) The app removal/freezing is one of two ways. One I have a txt file with the apps names and/or dirs that I can tweak as needed and it will just rm them as it goes through the list. The other way is i go into the system/app folder before building it and modify the apks directly. This is how I do themeing changes, which I may or may not do for the note. For freezing I add .bak to them so they are not loaded.
While doing this I got our device added to the archikitchen database, so you no longer will need to manually enter the boot sector. It should autodetect the blk upon startup.
Wow, I'd love to learn how to do this so that I can tinker with making a slimmer touchwiz rom. Guess I got my work cut out for me on doing research.
Thank you!
Thanks man, this is great!

Thank you SO very much ! I'm downloading the debloated version now. You rule !
Update: I'm up and running on the tweaked ROM ! I wanted to share a few things my 900 did so others will know...
... During the Dalvic cache wipe, the device suddenly rebooted! I got to the Samsung splash and it hung. I rebooted into twrp, then did the other three wipes first and waited for the 'successful' notification. Once I saw that, I rewiped the dalvic cache w/o problems and continued.
... during the actual flashing of the ROM, I expected the 5 minutes or so load time indicated by the instructions. Mine was closer to two minutes and it rebooted. The status bar had barely crept into the blue... It totally freaked me out, but I let it ride and soon was looking at the Google 4 dots screen. that lasted maybe 2 more minutes and I was up and running. So, don't panic if it happens to you too
... I saw you mention Xposed; for what it's worth I pretty much always load boot manager and App Opps; they are great! Occasionally I'll go for xPrivacy too, but haven't so far. I would suggest looking into AdAway as well ( an app, not a module )
thanks again for making this ROM!
Up and running here also! All went smooth. Nice fast rom. Looking for reboot menu but using same Samsung default color scheme!
Man!! Thanks so much! I cant wait for work to be over so I can get this cooking!!

I'm a little confused with how to get into TWRP. I downloaded the correct img and installed TWRP manager.. went thru the steps with busybox etc.. but when I reboot into recovery..
I get the following:
Android system recovery <3e>
KOT49H........... etc...
Reboot (which reboots back in normal tablet)
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from EXT storage
Wipe Data/Fac Reset
Wipe Cache
Apply update from cache
on the bottom of screen
#manual mode #
Apply Multi CSC
Applied the CSC-code : XAR
Sucessfully applied multi-CSC.
Until I know what to do, I just rebooted back into the normal factory os I been using.
I been using TWRP on other devices so I know something is going on here.. Please let me know what to do next.
Thanks!
I rooted using odin. The booted back into download and again used odin for twrp. Did my backup. Then wiped and installed the .zip. rooted and working.

Ok, thanks.. I used odin to root when I first rooted. But I didn't think we needed to use odin to load twrp but I guess I was wrong.

I just think for me it is easy. I saw three different ways to install twrp and I find Odin better then adb

Odin definitely odin. What you described is the manager not correctly installing twrp. I never use the manager for anything. Always odin. Simpler.
edit: actually going to add that to the first post.
Check out Flashify, it worked very well. I had downloaded the img ahead of time but it found the correct one anyhow..
regardless... It's now 7 hours later after flashing and loading my stuff back. 0% battery drain where before I had around 1-4% and nearly everything was greenified.
Thanks so much ...
PS. I hope we start seeing a bunch of these now that this is proven that it will work!
I get it setup and all is working. Use twrp to get a backup. Then after each reboot it will not remember my home WiFi password. Looking online now for solution
Installed backup and no longer have the problem. I did have to install the sdfix app because I could not get my mail app to export settings.

That's weird, I didn't have that problem, only issue was on first boot, Rom Tool Box wouldn't load, but after restarting, its been fine. No issue with Wifi here
Hi, I installed the new ALLIANCE ROM for N7100 on my mobile & loved it for few hours, But then I tried installing VIPER Audio Enhancement apk which installed correctly but when you open it, it normally asks to install driver for which it requires ROOT.
Now the problem is that on ALLIANCE ROM it gives error that EITHER THE BUSYBOX IS BROKEN OR DEVICE NOT ROOTED. I have tried installing BusyBox Pro apk & installing busybox in BIN & XBIN folders but does not help. I have also tried swicthing superuser app from SuperSU to SUPERUSER but again the problem remains. I even tried unzipping the ROM & copying elements from Phoenix ROM & JellyKat ROM but no good.
Please help as I am a MUSIC fan & to be honest I have not found any audio enhancement app better than VIPER audio.

Its not only you who encountered this issue on Alliance ROM but few others users have reported the same and MannyVinny the developer said it will be fixed in the next version. I has flashed Alliance ROM myself and I did not encounter such issue. It could be the way I flashed the ROM without using ROM customized app but I am not so sure that could be the reason for viper working for me and not for you. So for now either you stick to this version without viper mod or try some other ROM and then return to Alliance ROM when new version is released.

I'm one of the many who had the same problem as you. However there is a way to get around it.

I followed these instructions to the letter, and I have a working viper on alliance set up. Now this may not be for everyone as it does require a reinstall (I didn't play around to see if it could be made to work without a reinstall)... But it is a way to get viper working.
