Force the update on AT&T Desire eye? - HTC Desire Eye

I have the AT&T Desire eye. They are rolling out the update, but I can't pull it yet. Does anyone know how to force the phone to see the update?
Thanks!

The ruu is available, but you have to search for it. I used it today, didn't want to wait on ota. ruu is #2.09.502.1

Can you come back to kitkat with the kitkat ruu if you update to lollipop? I heard lollipop is not that great

I am unable to get the OTA by manually checking. So I will just have to wait, so I was wondering did HTC update to the new Sense UI in this update?

No they did not. In the OTA thread, you can find what they did update. The biggest thing is including Swype.

new update by htc? lets wait

Hi i just checked out of routine waiting for gingerbread lol sad,but anyway htc have released a system update looks like just simple updates etc. my phone just wont allow it for some reason, when i had my upgrade it was on vodafone, but changed the rom to an unbranded rom.so i could get froyo. I had the first update they let out in november but this one just wont have it.my phone displays the red triangle.ive read briefly on here could be the rom i installed casuing this
my question is until gingerbread arrives is it worth faffing around changing roms etc just for this maninentence update.
also if i decided to use one of these customs roms and root etc,is it easy to revert the phone back to the current state if i wanted stock gingerbread
You can get FroYo. There is no 'stock gingerbread'.
Gingerbread is not officially available for Desire, and probably won't be for a few months.
If you root your phone, you can have gingerbread and yes you can go back to stock.
Just got the update as well - is there a changelog somewhere?
What update? I don't get no OTA at this time...
If your talking about the 2.29.405.5 OTA for some reason it can't be applied to debranded phones as it detects the original branding. I had the same problem. with my orange uk desire. The only way to apply it is to run the RUU for this update.

if it is the 2.29.405.5 update there's another thread discussing what may have changed.
There's some suggestion that its a few camera fixes

[Q] How do I get my Desire HD to update after unroot?

Hey. I rooted my Desire HD with VISIONary+ a couple of days ago but decided to unroot again because I actually was happy with the way it was before and just wanted to root it to see what it was like. Well.. Now I have a problem. I downgraded to root it and now I can't update the phone again.
When it starts to update it reboots but when it turns on again the only thing I can see is a little Android and a triangle with exclamation. Then I have to take out the battery and start the phone again. I've tried it several times now and that same thing happens every time. What can I do?
And by the way: Clockwork Recovery is still turned on after the unrooting and I've tried to root and flash alternate recovery but it says that there is no other recovery to flash. I don't know if this could have anything to do with the updating problem.
Please help me I'm new at all this rooting stuff and I just want my phone the way it was before if that's possible.
If you still have CWM on the phone you're still rooted so an OTA update will fail. You need the RUU to completely reset the phone to stock
How do I get the RUU? And what do I do with it? Can you help me out?
Here is a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864054
RUUs can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841207
Just run it when phone is connected to HTC Sync on your computer.
I guess I should look under "Official Roms". But which one should I pick?

The one that corresponds best with your phone, ie mine would be t-mobile uk
Thank you all so much. It worked and I got it updated! I just have one more question.
Before I rooted I was on firmware 1.7something and now I'm on 1.3something and it says that there is no available updates. Why is that so?
Htc uk pulled the 1.72 update because it was ****. That might be why.

[Q] Still haven't recieved OTA gingerbread update

My desire HD has been restored from a custom ROM using the RUU, but it's been rooted, with ENG-OFF etc. but still on the stock HTC rom. However I still haven't received the OTA Gingerbread update, despite friends on the same network and with the same phone having received it. Does restoring it using an RUU or having it rooted affect in any way receiving the update?
I know I can update via the new RUU, but I'm just interested to know why I haven't received it. Any help is really appreciated

maybe... but its strange...
can you leave here what´s your currently rom exactly? version,,, kernel,,,, etc etc...
in theory it´s going to receive gingerbread update all the people that has 2.2.1 froyo.... if i´m not mistaken its 1.8xxxx
but ei!.. you can update your device from HTC SYNC without problems if you are sure that you have a WEE OFFICIAL RUU... SYNC APP is going to identify your device like a unbreanded phone and is going to give to you an update
Kernal version: 2.6.32.21 -gf3f553d [email protected] #1
Build Number: 1.32.405.6 CL278359 release-keys
Software Number: 1.32.405.6
hope this helps
The official OTA has not yet been rolled out to everybody. It is slated for the 16th, so if you don't get it by end of Monday, maybe contact your carrier. http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_...gingerbread_on_16_may_in_the_uk-news-2638.php

Indeed. ^^^^^^^^^^
As an example: I had an HTC Hero - rooted, stock WWE(pretty much). The phone would recognise that an OTA update was available but wouldn't install properly because of the custom recovery I had installed. The update notification took a few extra days to appear on my phone comparative to other peoples phones....(not that it mattered really, to install it I had to flash a new ROM anyways.)
........in other words, patience is a virtue. You'll get the update very shortly.
well can be possible that he don´t received the update because his carrier don´t launched it...
but I THINK that (reading his verion of RUU etc...) he is not going to receive OS 2.3 because he is in the android 2.2 (1.32 older)
for receive the update (for do a correct and estable update) he should to udate to 1.8xxx OS 2.2.1...
i repeat...only i think that he should do it...
if he rejected the 2.2.1 update... maybe its not going to arrive him the 2.3.3 update...
it can carry problems...
but i repeat... for ensure of it you can try htc sync and verify if it´s available an update for your device...
Thanks for all the info. I ended up just using the new RUU, couldnt wait to try out ginerbread any longer

Hi all
Do unlocked to any network phones receive OTA updates before branded ones?, and if that is the case if I unlocked my phone would I receive the OTA update earlier even if I am still running the orange UK android 2.2.

I doubt it, because carriers have to do their own testing of the firmware then distribute it, so even though htc will release it this week we might not get it during this week or the week after maybe.
No. You still have to wait for Orange to mess around with it. You'll be waiting at least another month after gb gets released.

Unbranded phones will most likely get updates before anyone else. If your phone is branded you will have to create a gold card then you can install the official HTC unbranded ruu, then get the OTA earlier.

To answer your question as noone else cared to read it, no unlocked phones won't get it earlier. The locking is completely separated from the rom itself.
But branded phones(the ones with apps and stuff from orange etc. on it) will have to wait for the carrier to add their branding and deploy it. So you can get it quicker by unbranding(installing a stock wwe htc rom), however you might get issues when trying to install the update.
thanks all for your replies. Thought about installing the stock htc rom with no orange branding but heard it can cause problems so will just have to wait.
Will I lose root, sim unlocked and s-off when the update comes through?
dunno how bout sim-lock
but you NEVER should apply an OTA on rooted rom
and yes you will lose root and s-off (if it works well, the ota)
just wait until it gets released, devs will root it and post here, and you just download stock rooted gingerbread and flash it.
