[Q] Root 5.1.1 - Moto 360

I constructed the appropriate cable and I was successfully rooted with unlocked bootloader on 5.0.2.
I restored to stock to take the update to 5.1.1.
using adb to flash recovery and supersu appears successful but results in a boot loop.
What is needed to root 5.1.1?

Hi!man
question
can we update 5.02 to 5.1.1 using adb?

You can push the update using adb sideload from stock recovery.

Will pushing the update via sideload keep root?

Root + Original Bootloader

To root the phone I had to install CWM as the bootloader and then run a zip file to obtain root.
Because I installed a custom bootloader, I can't receive OTA updates anymore so I can't get the S3 Premium Suite update.
How can I revert to the original bootloader and maintain my root? Can I just flash the original bootloader with Odin?
Any advice would be appreciated.

No you installed a custom recovery not a boot loader.
Because you installed a custom ROM you can't get updates
To get the original RECOVERY you need to flash a stock ROM thru Odin, and to update anything stock you need to remove root to get any Kies updates or else youll get errors.
And even so I don't think the ATT S3 has had the update to Premium Suite.
(Anyone can correct me on this one)
I think only international S3 has been updated to Premium suite

No. OTA updates require stock recovery. However, you can revert to stock recovery and unroot as you please. Also, you can flash OTA updates through TWRP once a flashable zip is made, except you have to download it and flash it manually, just like installing a custom ROM. Cheers.

I received the last update through OTA on a rooted Stock ROM with TWRP installed.
After the install was finished TWRP asked if I wanted to restore the root. All went smoothly.
To clarify.. I did not flash the ROM. I used the normal OTA update.

I believe you can on small point updates. The full update from 4.3 to 4.4 most likely won't work with a custom recovery.

you must have stock /system folder + stock recovery
you can be rooted, by if you delete some files in /system - you break your ota
new ota will be with new radio too
after ota super-su apk will be removed by the ota
---------------
i restored /system apps from sdcard before 4.3 ota and migrate very well from 4.2.2
The ota 4.3 update removed my root and Twrp. Hope 4.4 doesn't do the same. It's always a pain for me to restore root with my Windows 7 laptop. It keeps installing the wrong usb drivers which get in the way of the wugfresh toolkit access to the nexus 7. So it's no easy task for me.

[Q] Root + Custom Recovery for ZVC

I received the OTA ZVC update last week and was currently rooted and had TWRP installed at the time. I reflashed the stock rom using the LG Flash tool and went through three updates to eventually wind up at Kitkat, when I was using the stock ZVA rom I was able to use IORoot 25 to root my phone and then use FreeGee to install TWRP later on. Now that I'm on ZVC Official I can still use IORoot25 to root my phone but can not seem to get a custom recovery to stick, anybody else figure this out?
You need a downgraded aboot and kernel.

There's a new method to install twrp without breaking download mode , once you're on ZVC rooted with ioroot25, download the new app by @Cloudyfa http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51857807 which would install twrp and you will still be able to use download mode if you have to!

Also, you can just flash the ZVC TOT. You don't need to flash an old TOT and work your way to current. I was on ZV7 rooted and went straight to ZVC TOT.

I just did what IORoot25 and the AutoRec. I'm with sprint and just got the phone. What can I do with this KK release? Can I install camera update or try out kernels? There seems to be no roms for this ZVC update.
So, I do I determine which kernel is patched to work with ZVC? since AutoRec is patched, there must be other patched Kernels out there. Just a noob right now.

KitKat just came out, developers are hard at work breaking things down so it is safe to flash. Lg did some things making it tougher and a lot of internal changes.
Kernel, only other available is furnace 2.0.

Does anyone know what to do once download mode is broken? I have progressed between the "stuck in recovery mode" problem, then the fastboot only problem, and now while getting download mode to actually show on screen instead of fastboot i have broken my download mode with fastboot-ing zvc files to the phone. Any ideas on getting this back in a programmable state? I'm on a windows 8.1 x64 machine.

Try the auto-rec for your model here on post 1,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
I'm on Sprint ls980, and no issues. This will fix boot, kernel, recovery, and download mode.
If you get white lines, us the fix @Cloudyfa has posted to get back. This puts you back to how it was before the program. No recovery and locked boot and stock kernel.

[Q] How to update to Lollipop on Rooted HTC M7

Can anyone explain how to update to Lollipop on a Rooted Stock M7 please? I am pretty familiar with adb and fastboot and i'm wondering if all i need to do is flash to a stock recovery, since i'm using TWRP, and then install the OTA update.

i would just install the firmware from the OTA that is available in the dev section. If you want to go stock, you can flash santod's stock rom and it will be the equivalent as if you got the OTA from VZW
I'm already on stock I'm just rooted with a custom recovery. So install that using TWRP?

[SM-T800] Flashing up from 4.4.2 without USB (have TWRP and root)

In short, I have a SM-T800 on 4.4.2 stock. I have TWRP installed. The problem is the USB is out of order, it's just busted on hardware level, so I can't use ODIN or ADB or anything requiring USB.
Does there exist a way to flash the device upwards (maybe to 6.0.1) with only these tools available? I can't get OTA updates due to the custom recovery.
I've tried flashing with FlashFire a stock 5.0.2 firmware from samsung-updates, but FlashFire can't flash the bootloader, and the SM-T800 needs a bootloader upgrade to go over 4.4.2. The flash resulted in softbricking, but I've managed to return back to working 4.4.2.
Basically what I need (I would imagine) is a TWRP flashable package, which includes the bootloader.

There is literally no way to flash the bootloader except by official means.
Kingroot is able to root most LL roms.
So if you go back to complete stock you can take the OTA and get the LL bootloader.
The thing I'm not sure about is if you will be offered the LL update or just the MM update.
Once you have the LL bootloader you will be able to root and install MM via FF.

Thanks, I'll have to go back to stock recovery then and see after if I can get rooted without USB after that, will see.
But how do you get back to stock if your on a custom room. I can't seem to get the right file to work. Everytime I try and extract and do it through Odin it fails
