[Q] More Than Just BootLoop - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using my Galaxy Tab 3 for over a year now. I use a Kindle for gaming, but I mainly use the Galaxy for things that don't require much power, such as texting on Messenger, and watching Netflix/YouTube. But, for about two months now, it has never gotten past it's "BootLoop." I figured there would be a tutorial online, and there was... But, i found out it was more than just BootLoop, as it would not go into recovery mode. It shoes the android bot, as if it was going into recovery mode, but, it just stays at 0% for a second, and then shows the bot with a caution sign, and then the tablet restarts. I figured there would be no fix for this. But, I might as well ask.

Have you tried flashing recovery through odin? Try it, download tar image for PhilZ CWM recovery or TWRP and flash it.

Hi, I'm having the same problem too. Do I need to download a specific TWRP version for this tablet? If so, please show me. I can't find it. Thanks

If you can get into recovery you can wipe/factory reset and that should get you past boot loop. your other option is to flash stock via Odin.

You can enter download mode and reflash stock image with Odin. If you were running the stock rom you may not lose your data. Let me know if you don't know how to do this and I will direct you. It seems that something has become corrupted, but Odin will fix that

After flashing Odin you should have access to the 3e recovery. Unless something is wrong with your hardware (Volume broken?), I can not see why you would not be able to enter recovery.
You can also try this tool to boot a custom kernel with recovery attached. Here is a forum with a similar problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011636&highlight=i9300

You can download an Odin flashable recovery from here. http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/d2att. you will want the .tar file.
Beyond this i'm running out of ideas. Not too sure if this will work if you have gone stock with Odin as it may have taken root from you. Worth a try though.
Maybe an emergency recovery through Kies... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984717
Beyond that try Odin again and re download the stock Rom from a different source. You may have gotten a bad download. I have read of it happening. Maybe even an older firmware or Canadian one (i'm assuming you're ATT): http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I747

Rooted a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 lite 7 SM t110" Thank You

I just rooted my new Tab today thanks to the helpful and complete instruction from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674649
(3/10/2014) and it works beautifully and is very easy, The step by step instructions and detailed videos made this the easiest root I"ve ever done (which would make all of 2 now). It took all of about 10 min, excluding the hour or so I spent carefully rereading the procedure and watching the videos.
Thank you so much! I have root again!!!
Regarding a boot loop problem mentioned in another thread (I am not able to post in development threads yet so hopefully the author will see this)
I had the same thing happen to mine after installing cwm and rooting then attempting to create backups. I think it was the way I tried to boot into cwm, didn't wait long enough perhaps.
Anyway, I wound up flashing the stock firmware again, using Odin, then redoing the cwm install and rooting again. It worked like a charm for me.

I just had to do the whole process over again because my tab would keep dropping wifi (a common Samsung issue) I did a factory reset, forgetting the stock recovery was not on it any longer. It went right into the cwm bootloop again. I reflashed the stock firmware that I got from honai of androids blog in a link, using Odin.
Then reflashed the cwm, and rerooted. All is working again.
i will retry cm and root, glad to hear i wasnt aalone though i am not wishing anyone bad
Booting straight into recovery
I'm having the same issue as some on this forum. I have searched and searched but cannot find stock firmware. The" honai of androids" lead was a dead end. Link appears to be broken. Can someone point me in the right direction? Samsung Galaxy tab3 7.0 lite.

I thought I'd posted the link to the stock firmware,
oops I cant post links yet, just google honai of android blogspot how to date galaxy tab 3 lite
It is a very slow d/l hosted by one of those "pay for fast download" sites. But the free d/l link works fine and it is the proper firmware, samsung sees it as official.
CAUTION: When rerooting, (Notice I didn't say if, I'm assuming anyone would naturally want to have root), when you boot into CWM, it takes a long time. I didn't wait long enough the first time I did it, and I think that may have something to do with the bootloop issue. I am going to install quickboot and try that.
Follow along with the detailed information and videos that were so well done by xda members. Ive done the whole process about 4 times now (when you do that first boot after flashing CWM, be sure and boot into recovery (again follow the video if you have any questions. The one on youtube posted by root junky, ots excellent.
What if the bootloop does not even allow me to get into recovery or download mode?
Any solutions?

I posted the files that you need to root and reset the custom binary counter.
1. Flash the Stock ROM
2. Install the OTA Updates. (NOTE= Don't install it later, it will bootloop in CWM.)
3. Flash CWM in Odin and then flash the SuperSU ZIP.
4. Flash Stock RECOVERY. (IMPORTANT)
5. Download Rashr and flash CWM image file.
6. Done!
Also don't press to boot in recovery mode. It will bootloop, duh.
All of the files are here: bit.ly/sm-t110-root

[Q] Desperate need of help!!!

My phone is not booting into recovery at all, when I hold down the vol up + home + power it just loops. It keeps giving me a message about my kernel. I know there are a lot of other threads regarding looping issues, but are still able to get into recovery. I've spent hours trying everything I have come across that might seem to work and nothing has. Does anyone know of a way to use Odin from a PC to fix this issue?? I attached a screen shot of the files so far that I have tried using through Odin on my computer and a couple others. I'm very desperate at this point for any advice!! Thanks...

have you updated to the kitkat bootloader. if you have and try to use the cf root made for our device the recovery is no longer usable. google search cf auto root for n9005 kitkat. that one works though it will install the recovery for the n9005 but is functional other than that i would say go to sammobile.com and make an account (free) then download wich ever version you had running wether it be 4.3 or 4.4 then use 7zip and extract the recover.img then flash that using odin.....

I used the ROM Installer app and downloaded the Pac-Man Rom + Gapps, booted into recovery (using twrp.) I then wiped the data, cache, dalvik, and then tried installing the zip files i had downloaded. It would at first just reboot my phone normally and so I downloaded the a aokp Rom off the internet and onto my flash drive, then used a cable to attach both the phone and drive and tried installing the Aokp ROM. That then put my into a loop, I was able to get out of it by using Odin and flashing the openrecoverytwrp.2.6.3.0.img which got me booting back to normal. Sooo I then tried again and then lost the option of getting into recovery.
Their ROM is 4.4. What boot loader do you have. Did you update to kit Kat?

OK do this go to sammiemobile get the factory stock. Flash thru Odin. Then reboot make sure it stock. Download to your PC the ROM you want. Cf auto root and the recovery you like for kit Kat. Don't use any app to download anything. Once you set. Then do the cfautoroot. Let that cycle. Then flash recovery thru Odin. Then reboot. Then power down and reboot into recovery . it works .good. Boot up then add ROM to SD reboot recovery and flash. Done.
Factory wipe before going stock.

You don't keep holding those buttons when the red and blue and yellow words pop up do you? Our phone allows us to hold the power button for about 6 seconds and it will reboot.
Let up off those buttons you're holding when trying to boot into recovery as soon as you see the blue and red and yellow writing.
The blue writing states that you're already booting Into recovery.
Tl;dr You're holding the buttons too long after it reboots. Let off them.
Eek, I just read the steps you tried to resolve this. Sorry you had to go through that. I don't think that was your issue, but I just thought I'd throw my 2cents in
BTW if this is not the case, then disregard please.

Edit: Figured it out... thank god.
Just a heads up. Next time to save time of a huge file download. Just download another Recovery for your device. You flashed a corrupt recovery which caused your phone to not go into recovery at all. Always ensure the model # matches yours also.

Also flashing CF-Auto Root does not help a bad recovery fix, it just roots your phone, so you flashing CF AutoRoot was of no use at that point.

I don't think its that. If it is their post should be in the International Note 3 9005 thread, not T-Mobiles thread, and seeing that they have been rooted before ( i know because thats the only way they could reboot to recovery with rom manager) they must have used the n900t CF AutoRoot which is correct if the person have the T-Mobile version. Reading through and seeing that they never confirmed or have been asked for their phone model, just the second post person suggesting stuff for the 9005 without questions, since he/she said they haven't rooted yet after successfully booting up from the stock flash, he/she haven't used the 9005 Auto Root as yet which I think they shouldn't as they might brick their phone. His recovery went bad after he flashed the wrong recovery to their phone.

Let's agree to disagree. But if you check chainfires tweet he even said to use the cf euro version because it plays right with the TMOBILE. I have helped may bootloopers with just changing the root method. Just ask the op. He tried just the recovery with bootloops. And it was the right one cause he used the one I used.

stuck in recovery mode

After installing this app: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=phongit.quickreboot&hl=en

I also do not have a customer rom or custom kernel installed.
I tried using backups that I have, wiping cash, and even entering strings of code in terminal that I found on forums that said it would work, and none of it seems to work.
I do not care about keeping any data that's on there I just want to get out of the loop.

The onlyest way is flash STOCK with Odin.
If you want root, flash PhilzTouch with Odin, after flash Boot directly with Power ,Volume+ and Home button into Recovery and flash The SuperSu.ZIP V1.94
After that install The supersu.APP from playstore and update The supersu.
This way was working by me.

TWRP Recovery Touch Screen not working.

Hello So i have come to this magical website that has helped me with my issues before to bring up one of my own that i can't seem to find a solution for.
So recently i have rooted my Galaxy S6 using ODIN and what not. And everything went perfect, soon after that i flashed TWRP recovery on my phone so i could get some ROM's. But when i tried booting into TWRP, it gave me a welcome screen telling me to select a language. As soon as i tried making a selection i saw that i wasn't able to Tap nor swipe anywhere or anything really. So i was like....ok let me just flash a different versoin. Booted up to recovery and still ran into the same problem. I can't use the tough interface and idk what to do. Came here for some help
Model : SM-G920P
Version of TWRP : twrp-3.0.2-1
========UPDATE========
So recently i was trying to download exposed and caught myself not knowing what to do at all. I booted into recovery yet again cause i flashed a different version. And same thing happened. I try navigating through TWRP interface and still can't get it to do anything. So i try going back my regular usage of my phone, and then hit problem #2....it kept booting into recovery. And every time i try to reset my phone it just automatically boots into recovery. IDK what to do :/ and would love for someone to help me out.
Reflash the stock rom via odin..u need to be in download mode for this download the rom search it here on sprint xda ... After succesful flash download app call flashify go to recovery flash twrp download the version u havent flashed before im sure u already know the one that didnt worked before ... flash yup it then it will take u too recovery wipe to enter if touch still not works reflash again via odin in download mode then flashify different version of TWRP
Grab the TAR file from here: https://dl.twrp.me/zerofltespr/
Flash via ODIN.
This might not really help the OP. But for anyone whom stumbled upon the same problems. Just do
adb recovery
And the phone should boot into OS normally after stuck on TWRP which the touchscreen is not working

I downloaded the right file, yeah. But I can't run the image on my phone since I can't use the touch screen. Is there another way to run the image on my phone?
Sorry for the late response. Have you tried an OTG cable with a USB mouse. I had to do this just last week. Those OTG cable are lifesavers for this phone.
