I'm on At&t version and under Apps in settings "Downloaded", " All" and "Disabled" tabs or headers have a very annoying blue scroll bar where as in rest of the UI, even within Apps->On SD Card , Running the regular scroll bar.
Is anyone else annoyed by it? Is there a way to make it consistent?

I have an idea for a notification system, there is a lot of room on my status bar and I envision a scrolling notification whenever an sms comes in. If there is already one, can someone send me a link?? If there isn't I can donate to the dev, not a lot though, imma student , but I think it would be a pretty sweet notification system!

Highlight it with the trackpad and it will scroll.
Ummmm...how do I highlight my status bar? The notification would scroll across the status bar when doing another task, right now it's a ticker and flashes the first couple lines of the message. I'm talking about scrolling the entire message!

I have been looking everywhere for a way to display the date (like when you pull it down) in the blank space when notifications are cleared

he's thinking about the dropdown notifications not the ticker bar at the top. i wonder if its limited to how much information it can show from an app
I did a search for this, and could not come across any relevant content. But I'm betting someone has had this question before.
Is there a way to prevent the SMS content from showing up in the status bar when I get a text? I know it only shows up for a few seconds, but nonetheless it is still a 'breach' of my lockscreen. I'm currently running SRF 1.1.0 if that's relevant. I'm aware of the programs like Handcent and Shady SMS, but those seem like overkill for this situation. Thanks in advance.
Oh, and for any SRF dev that might read this: I'm lovin' this ROM! Awesome speed with great battery life. You guys rock.

Go to messaging app, then menu, settings and disable notifications.

I'm aware of that option, but it was my understanding that unchecking that box would also stop me from seeing ANY kind of notification of an SMS in the status bar. I just don't want it showing the actual content of the SMS, but I still want to be able to glance and see that I have a message waiting. Am I wrong in thinking it will disable all status bar SMS notification?

It will remove the notification from the status bar but you will still get a lockscreen notification and a number on your messaging envelope.
Do you BONSAI?
Perhaps you should try another messaging app with more controls like Handcent or GoSMS. I thought one of them had this option for removing.
Do you BONSAI?
I'll check it out. Thanks for the info.

Hey all,
Just thought I might throw the idea out there, would it be possible to create a continuum style notification either in place or over the menu buttons at the bottom? That would be pretty interesting.

I'm not sure what this is, could you describe it?

its that small second display across the bottom. it shows news updates, text messages, RSS messages, facebook posts etc.
and im with you OP, this could be cool
Something that could be toggled easily (say a button opposite where the small menu button appears) that is always up. This way you have notifications/new messages and still retain easy access to your soft buttons.
It could display last X number of Facebook messages, or G+ posts from selected contacts, or twitter posts with certain tags.

This is an interesting idea. It would be redundant in normal use, but when notification bar is hidden (i.e. full screen browsing, games etc.) it would be cool to see notifications pop up on the nav bar.
I'm just not a huge fan of the notification bar, and with the new .zips to hide the bottom buttons it leaves room for this

Fun fact the second screen is actually part of the main screen

On the continuum?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Or perhaps turn the nav bar into a "dock' that you could slide and have a notification ticker as one of the things you could add to it

Another idea would be for the MIUI style pop up notification and have it appear over the nav buttons
So it bugs me as I get a lot of emails but I can't find a way to mark all unread emails so I can mark them as read
Anyone know a mod or if its possible?

There is the top left button which will "check all" and the icon in the bottom center which will "mark as read" - will that accomplish what you are after?
EDIT: sorry, there is no "check all" button like there is on the web interface ... I really thought there was some way to select all...

Sounds like a personal problem. You can do it on the gmail.com website. Either that or unsubscribe yourself from those forums.
What difference does it make ? A problems a problem
All I wanted to know was if there's a fix or mod
I'll stick with doing it on pc

Surely you don't have to select them one by one.

which mail app gmail or stock? if stock check the ones u want then there is a down button at the top right and it says mark as read
The quickest way I found is to either select the check box on each day, which checks all emails for that day at once. Or you can long press the day bar (the blue bar labeling each day) , which collapses them, and then select each day without having to scroll. It's much quicker.
Then just pull down the menu and mark as read.
