Is there an easier way to mark all emails as read? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Surely you don't have to select them one by one.

Maildroid

which mail app gmail or stock? if stock check the ones u want then there is a down button at the top right and it says mark as read

The quickest way I found is to either select the check box on each day, which checks all emails for that day at once. Or you can long press the day bar (the blue bar labeling each day) , which collapses them, and then select each day without having to scroll. It's much quicker.
Then just pull down the menu and mark as read.

Replace stock messaging with handcent...?

Is this possible..?
Sent from my phone that's better than yours.
Just turn off the notifications for the stock messaging app. You'll be good to go.
All I did was to go into the setting of the stock and unchecked everything.

I know about that already but I just for some reason can't get handcent to stick as my main sms app... I get asked to choose between the two all the time and just wanna replace stock with handcent..

When it asks you to choose between the two, look in bottom left , you can check a box to use one or the other as default.

pm me and ill give you better instructions.
Chomp sms is where it's at, the only reason why I didn't stock with handcent is because every time my phone died and when I turn it back on it sends everyone the entire conversation I had with them which is insanely annoying. No one wants to get 75 texts in a row lol.
Chompsms lets you put a background for when you txt, lets you use landscape and portrait mode(lets you use a different pic for both). Also lets you change the color of the text from both sides(also the bubbles in which they are typed in). Also when you get a txt it pops up on the screen and you can just reply right away instead of going to the app. One last thing, if you hold down the search button it lets you make a message without going to the app.

Stock ICS Questions

Just real quick questions.
1.) Can you turn off animations? They just annoy me.
2.) How do you mark as read on Email? (non-gmail)
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Ok you turn off animations in Development Options.
Still not sure how to batch mark as read on non-gmail email.
Sent front my SGH-T989 using XDA
Yeah settings developer option window animations and the other one cant remember it has options from off all the way to ten times i think default is 1x .

Stock non-gmail email app - Checkbox emails you want to mark as read, click top right envelope icon. Sort of confusing, I thought initially it was a reply or compose button because it is an envelope.
Ok close thread.

How do a jump to a given date in stock calender

I want to goto any specified date. I cant find any way to do this besides faffing with swiping again and again. I would expect to be able to long press at the top to get a calendar grid.
Help me please.

Hit the date in the top left corner. It'll drop down a menu, and you can select the "month" view, then hit a specific date...

[Q] Notifications not as good as before

I've just upgraded from the original Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 to a Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100
On my old Tab if there was a notification that was too long to fit on the screen I could long press on the notification and it would begin to scroll right to left allowing me to read the whole message. On my shiny new super phone that long press no longer works (instead it brings up a button for App Info which is no help at all!)
Is there a way to read the whole of a notification without having to go to launch the app associated with it?
Thanks!
In 4.1 JB you have to put two fingers on it and slide down to expand the notification. Although it doesn't work for all notifications.

Thanks for the reply.
That seems to work for Gmail but not for Pulse and if there is more than one email then the expanded version is basically no better than the unexpanded version. You still need to go from the notification screen to the Gmail inbox to see any of the message.
Seems a bit of a step backwards from the older version on Android.

[Q] Any dialers with the Contact button on the bottom right of the screen?

Any dialers with the Contact button on the bottom right of the screen?
im using exdialer right now but annoys me that my contacts button is on the bottom left (the stock dialer has top right). its a bit of a stretch for my thumb on the note 2. I searched the play store but i couldnt find one that has the contacts button on the bottom right. I would also settle for middle right.
Anyone have any suggestion other then growing longer thumbs?:good::good:
Try go contact. It has the contacts button on the 2nd from left, reasonably reachable. ..
