Hello, I have a fairly weak 2.4ghz Wireless N signal in my office that has plenty of fast Ethernet ports on a 1GB network switch coming from the main router. I just purchased the TRENDnet Wireless AC Easy-Upgrader TWE-820AP in order to bring both AC and 5GHZ to my office and I plan on installing it near my work area and desk, which should keep the TAB S within 10-20 feet at all times. However, in the specs for the TAB S it says (in parenthesis) that 5GHZ is only for the N signal. Does this mean the AC is 2.4ghz perhaps?
Simple question is, will my TAB S see the new wireless AC network that this device creates and connect to it? Thanks
Well I answered this question myself lol. It works perfectly with the twe-820ap above. Wifi speeds picked up considerably.

Would really like to know if an adapter exists to connect network cable to Blueangel.
Have seen other devices with memory card style adapters, haven't seen any SD type adapters though.
I often have to check network points around several buildings as part of my job, my BA would be a lot lighter to carry than my laptop!
In last resort, you can use an wireless router connected to your Blue Angle by WiFi, and connect to the point you wanna test by RJ45.
A wireless router and a Blue Angel are still lighter than a laptop
Is there any software that will allow me to use WiFi without the built in wifi tuner but instead using a usb wireless adapter? Is this even a possibility on android?
Why would you even want to do that?

To improve WiFi strength

cool
This is a really cool idea. I'm getting an Ota adapter cable soon and I also have a portable router. I'm going to see if I could get anything to work with it. I don't know though.

I don't think a portable router is going to let you connect to another wireless router. I think you would need something like a wireless bridge to connect to the wireless router. And that wireless router would probably need to have the bridging enabled or something like that. And that seems like a pointless endeavor to improve wireless signal unless the bridge is halfway between the router and your tablet.
I would like a wireless adapter that has stronger signal reception.
using otg adapter coupled with usb extension cable and wifi dongle to tablet

Did you ever figure this out?
I am also trying to bring a signal into my apt that's only making it to the outside of my apt. I currently have a 15 foot usb extension cable hooked to a dlink n dongle and have it mounted just outside my window. I have that hooked to my laptop and am using connectify to bring in the free city wide wifi into my apt.
I have not had any issues, but am having a hard time keeping any other devices connected to my connectify as trying to get a valid IP is buggy due to restrictions and various issues then with the city wide server.
I need to find android drivers for a non android device I guess?
Have you had any luck?
The ethernet port on my KS Ouya seems to not be correctly attached to the board and thus can be moved up and down a lot. I've also noticed that it has no way of locking an ethernet cable in. On top of that i've noticed that the micro usb port used to connect the ouya to a pc only allows cables to go halfway in and the contact is sketchy at best (as of now I have yet to get the connection to stay for more than a few seconds).
Has anyone else ran into these issues, or is mine just a manufacturing defect and should be replaced?
I have the same problem with the micro usb port. My Samsung cables plugs are too short, but I have a slightly longer plug on my Kodak cable from a pocket videocam.

I've heard others over on ouyaforum complaining about similar issues, so you're not alone. I don't have any of these problems myself. I wish you luck getting it resolved!
Thanks for the replies JLCollier and Tadeo. The micro usb port issues turned about to be just that specific cable (weird).
Regarding my ethernet port, i'll probably try contacting support, see if they can send a replacement board. Will post here if I can get them to replace it; maybe others with the issue will be able to succeed too.

in regards to the thernet port, has anyone been able to exclusivly use ethernet in stead of wifi? I noticed that some apps/games will give me a not connected to wifi error even though im hard lined.

I use the ethernet exclusively 99% of the time, but there are some sideloaded apps that require either wifi or mobile network (which we don't have), so at that point I switch over to Wifi. Nothing on the OUYA itself should require wifi, however.
With both ethernet and wifi connected, wifi seems to take priority.
For example, transferring local files only achieves 1mb per second (which is what i'd expect on wifi)
Ethernet should get close to 10mb per second.
Hopefully they are working on a fix for this.
Would this work for picking up wifi signals from a distance with a OTG cable? http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WN722N-Wireless-Adapter-Detachable/dp/B002WBX9C6/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1377380741&sr=1-2&keywords=high-gain+external+USB+adapters I'm looking at the N300 High Gain. Thanks for any input.

Don't think you will be able to do it unless you use a powered usb hub.
Heard the usb port on the nexus can't supply a lot of juice..

Hadn't thought of that before... Thanks.
never try that, maybe you can install a Wifi Extender Router that can improve wireless coverage in all WLAN networks. please give the feedback here if you make it work.
So I just got my verizon note 4, about 4 days ago. I did some research to tether hidden, since I have the unlimited plan still, with Verizon. Now, I downloaded, and paid, for foxfi and foxfi addon, tried it out last night, and the tether speeds were horrible. I actually stream to twitch with my 4G usb tether connection, and with my previous phone (Iphone 5) I could stream , usb tethered, with a solid 1800-2200kb/s steady connection. When I tried the note 4, and fofxi usb tethered, last night, I got a unsteady 1000-1200kb/s connection.
Anything I need to do to fix this? I am sitting at the same spot in my house, as I was with the iphone. Also, my sleek 4G booster, that I sometimes used with my Iphone, makes the connection worse on the 4G, which is weird.
Basically my jailbroke Iphone 5 4G usb tether speeds were twice as fast as this note 4 using foxfi.... Any suggestions? (using the standard usb cable that came with my note 4, and tried multiple usb3.0 and 2.0 usb ports)
Okay............
