Hi guys, i have a ls990 for about a week and i already encountered a serious trouble...
So, once upon a time im unlocking this device for gsm but i didnt get the 2G or 3G icon (but sometimes i know its 3G from the speed) and i changed the signal icon to AOSP instead of stock using the g3 tweaksbox. Shortly, after more than 10 times flashing tot and a couple time factory reset (from setting or hardkeys) that AOSP signal icon still remains there even before i restore g3 tweaksbox or even before i rooted it.
Well, i dont mind if i had an aosp signal icon (i can change it any time in g3 tweaksbox anyway) but the real problem is, that bug came along with the fact that i cant using wcdma only signal anymore. I suspect that after flashes tot files and factory resets there are still leftover data that causing that bug. I know its sound silly and impossible but thats the truth. Now my question is, is there any way i can reset my phone with a cleaner way so those bug can go away? thanks before
well, i found out that updating PRL manually solved that problem, if anyone has the same problem you can check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521276

Help guys,
It all started with this post in the" No noob questions here" area.
"Hey guys,
I just got my OGP and its f240L, korean version.
I really hate that it has that Call Korea thing before placing a phone call, is there any way to get rid of it?
Also, I am having trouble with the internet, wifi in particular and speeds ... ( I get 10mbps on wifi (used to get >30 with my skyrocket samsung, and like <10 mbps on 3g/4g on my prepaid sim).
Also the wifi signal is not that good where in the past i would get decent coverage in one of the rooms, with the LG it keeps connecting and disconnecting the wifi and switching to 3g/4g which sux, because I can't have any. Is this a modem related issue?
What should I do? (The phone is not yet rooted) Should I root and install a different ROM, more "international friendly"?
This is all new to me and from what it seems it's different than Samung's flashing stuff..."
After that I rooted my phone, OGP F240L version.
And I wanted to get rid of the call Korea thing and the korean marks on the dialer.
I did everything as here : http://optimusforums.com/threads/fix-calling-ui-call-to-local-and-sms-160-character.7711/ ...but as soon as I
wanted to paste those 3 in the folder the phone started FCing.
It always gives me the message : unfortunately, the process com.android.phone.stopped working and after that unfortunately, system UI has stopped.
What is there to do? ((
I tried reseting the phone and I think made it worse (factory reset i mean) since I can only select the language now and I get the same FCs and it won't let me push "Next"
Please somebody help me as I really hope there's a fix to this.
Hey all. I need some advice. This morning my G3 (D850) dropped WiFi connection for no reason. It says the signal is good but the network info says saved, secured. It will attempt to connect over and over again and if it does connect the signal is weak as can be and it drops the connection within 2 seconds. My coworker has a G3 also and is connected to the same work network I am. His connection says excellent where as mine said good. His device connects just fine with full bars. I'm baffled. I've already tried manually selecting 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz instead of auto select and that didn't help at all. I've tried manually turning off WiFi and turning it back on. I've tried turning airplane mode on and then off to refresh the connection and that didn't help. I've done a battery pull as someone in one of the android authority forums suggested that (apparently I am not the only one having this issue.), didn't work. I've unchecked WiFi optimization - no dice. There was another post on a different forum here on XDA that said turning off WiFi and then deleting the WiFi config folder located in data/etc/wifi and then rebooting fixed the issue for them so I tried that. After reboot when I tried to turn on WiFi my G3 rebooted itself. Does it everytime. SO, I had to restore to a nandroid backup (btw I'm on rooted stock 10f) to get the phone to stop hating my WiFi toggle attempts. Last ditch effort I did a factory reset hoping for an easy fix... Nope. I don't know what else to try. It was fine yesterday all day. This morning it was perfectly fine and then randomly started having this issue. I haven't altered any system files whatsoever. I really don't want to send my device to LG for warranty replacement so I'm hoping someone can help me out that may have had this issue and resolved it. The only difference between my device and my coworkers device is he is still on 10d and I am on 10f. That could be the issue I guess but that doesn't really explain why my device has been perfectly fine until this morning and I've been on rooted 10f for weeks. I am planning on flashing back to straight bone factory stock 10d when I get home here in a few hours from work but Idk if that will help or not. Judging from the amount of google search results of "LG G3 WiFi connection problems" this seems to be an issue for several people. I won't know if it's on the software side or hardware side until I get home but in the meantime has anyone had these issues at all? People have had success in changing to Static IP but I would have to do that for every connection I attempt to connect to and that's a pain in the a$$. Also, that does nothing to identify the root cause of the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

Thanks for the reply. So it turned out my phone just randomly decided it doesn't like my work network anymore. Idk why lol. I got home and it hooked right into WiFi. Gf's WiFi and open networks as well. I call shenanigans. I went ahead and flashed back to 10d anyway though.

I am having the same issue! But it is happening in other networks too...sometimes I get the phone to connect but it only works for a while and when I check the networks it only says Saved, even if I try to connect again
Having the same issue, whether at work or home, my wifi has become near useless. I've even gone as far as trying a different ROM. Didn't work.
Same thing here
I also have tried factory reset, installed a new ROM, changed settings in my router... but the problem remains I don't know what to do anymore, I use wifi a lot!! I searched through other topics but no one seem to know how to solve it. Unfortunately my warranty already expired, I took my phone to some technicians but honestly it didn't help at all...they all said it was a software bug and I should wait for an update but if it was just that a new ROM would fix it,right?
I am not very familiar with phone hardware but I assume that if it was a hardware problem I wouldn't be able to turn it on or connect to any network, right?? (any experts here???)
Any solution is welcomed.
anyone please?? :crying:
P.S : I tried a new baseband, new kernel and new ROMs. So far, nothing changed.
I can connect sometimes but get kicked out within minutes. At other times I only get the saved, secured message.
This is happening in every network
Look i normally dont ask for to much help ive been around a bit know more then the average bear. I also fix hardware.
My problem is my data radio will not switch on from any attempt:
Attempted solutions:
Dialed
*#*#4636#*#*
Will not switch on from that screen
Did the obvious and switched on and off airplane mode
Replaced the entire build.prop file with a very stock build.prop after flashing stock jelly bean
Repeated steps for all stock firmware
Newest attempt wiped the entire system partition through recovery forcefully bricking the phone. I have now flashed the original stock e980 stock 10p tot file still no luck
My phone is completely unlocked fully rooted.
I've replaced the data permission files.
And I know its not the SIM card because the SIM card is in the phone I'm using right now which is an LG g2 unlocked which is for sale by the way.
And if it is a hardware problem I have not found any related video or thread to help me find an exchange where the radio is on this thing
Help me please if anybody has any idea?
Cool no help, hey moderator can u move this to thread that may get more help that would be awesome
i came looking around here because my g pros radio stopped working sometime last night while i was asleep and was about to make a thread asking for help, but seeing as how you haven't got much i doubt i would either. but ill give you a little info on mine, will it help you out at all? not sure. but i know it might make me feel a little better.
I flashed Vanir 4.4.4 last week coming from Beanstalk 4.4.4 cause beanstalk was getting buggy from all the ugly mods i subjected it to. so all was well with Vanir till i woke up this morning and had no service, no calls, no network, AND even if i connected to a wifi network it seemed that i couldn't get any data from it. I tried flashing madmacks modem cause who knows, maybe thatll help, but it diddnt. So then i flashed a different kernel and changed TCP protocols cause who ****ing knows, but it did nothing. THEN i restored my older Beanstalk 4.4.4 backup sure that it would work flawlessly but guess what, same problem. Now that im back on Beanstalk i went to the "Network Operators" option under "Mobile network settings" and selected ATT, which is my service provider, i can now make calls and texts but still no data, when i did this on Vanir it did not help. So i started messing with my "preferred network type" and realized i have data on 2G, but not 3G or LTE. Im gonna take a wild guess and say that maybe if you flash your phone back to 100% stock your radio should start working again, as much as i dont want to, i might end up doing that as well.
tl:dr
similar problem, i dont really know ****, easiest option = go back to stock, hope it works.
@Fant0m3 @alb-o
Have you guys checked if your rom shows your imei?
I have had this problem twice. My IMEI disappeared and I don't know how.
Your symptoms match.
If that's the case you could take it to a repair shop and they'll fix it in a minute or two. Or, you can check around xda.
thats a good point, when i was looking around XDA earlier i saw a few mentions of it but diddnt see anything very specific and was late for class so diddnt have time to look for too long. strangely enough mine actually started working normally again after i kept switching from 2G to 3G to LTE, which is great. but if i would've known that info earlier i could have checked if my IMEI disappeared while my radio still wasn't working, i assume it probably did.
after searching around more i found this thread that talks about it and how to prevent it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857054
thanks for the help g0at1, hopefully this helps out the OP if he hasn't already fixed the problem, or anyone else that comes across this.
nope
I've flashed back stock numerous times even flashed other versions such as e988 and back again if u dint know how to do that just change your build number in your build prop file...I've tried everything I am downt to antenna cable SIM reader or cell radio.. If radio I might as well just give up cause I can't find one for sell anywhere...I'm not so pressed as I'm using the LG g2 and it's so fast stable and a bit slimmer I think I'm gonna keep it but I would like to fix it and sell it though...... My symptoms are mentioned and all tried fixes are there. Imei is read carrier is not WiFi is received but there is an X above the data bars phone is fully unlocked as well
This may help also but it does not read my imei when the SIM is not in hmm maybe I will rework the imei code and get back if that works. I will keep updated when fixed and with solution
I have a very weird problem on my S3 and I have looked everywhere and I can't figure out what's wrong.
I have a stock unrooted S3 on 4.4.2. Recently I took the phone overseas and had it unlocked, I don't know quite how the person unlocked it, but when I got it back it was having a lot of problems. All my Data was wiped, but still unrooted but showing many errors. I was having an error every time I opened my contacts saying android.process.acore has stopped. I was also having trouble getting signal with a local sim card, at the time I thought it was some setting I didn't know about or that it was the network that was messed up. Then when I got home I continued to have with my at&t network, always showing no signal and no data, when I did have signal it would cut out in a few min and when I got Data it was only 2g.
So what I did was install a stock rooted rom that I had been using before, this rom took care of a lot of the errors but wifi doesn't work on it, so I had to install a kernel which was verson 3.4.0-g2d4cae8 ktoonsez, this took care of the wifi problem.
Then I looked around a lot for reasons that my network wasn't working. One potential problem was APN, I checked that and mine was correct. There was also a problem listed with IMEI and that was fine on my phone too. Then I finally found that sometimes you can reinstal NV items and that can fix your network issues. So I found a site that had NV items to fix LTE and flashed that on my phone through odin. That actually took care of my network issue! I can get network now and get LTE, luckily saving my phone from being completely useless.
Now I have a completely diff issue and I don't know if I'm missing something similar to that to fix it.
What happens is that I constantly only have 1 signal bar, then when I start making a call or send a text I all of a sudden have 4 or 5 bars. So I have signal, but somehow its not registering properly. I would be okay with this considering my phone is at least letting me make calls even though it takes a bit longer to connect, but the problem is that it's been heating up a lot and the battery has been dying 3 times a day when it used to last an entire day. Looking up this problem I found that this problem is common when you have no signal. Also when I think when I am closer to a tower then my phone has 3 bars most of the time and the battery lasts longer, aka when I was in downtown Houston I only had to charge my phone once during the day as opposed to 2 times.
Anyone have any Idea how I might be able to fix this problem. My mom had her phone unlocked the same way but she is still on official stock rom with root, and is having the same problem, so I'm pretty sure it was the unlocking process and something similar to the NV items. Maybe I needed to install a whole NV items file instead of just the LTE segment? Sorry this was so long, and maybe rambling. Let me know if you guys need any more information.
Hi all
So I know that many people have reported the same issue but no one ever seems to come to a conclusion on what is causing the problem...Some say it's the network, some say it's the software etc. Anyway I'm hoping to get to the bottom of this, my issue is as follows:
I see signal issues multiple times a day where I have signal bars and phone calls and texts work but data does not. The only thing which resolves the issue is a full reboot.
I currently run Cloudy G3 2.2 in my imported 32GB G3, I saw the same issues on the stock ROM too though. The signal issues only seem to occur when the signal drops to a low "H" signal...all the time i am in the office I have a full "H" signal and do not see the issue...the issue only occurs when the signal drops quite low...even when it goes back to full again the issue remains until I do a full reboot.
Anyone got any idea what this is all about? I don't want to have to switch phones to get rid of this issue....
Thanks
Just to be sure, did you flash the lollipop baseband when you installed cloudy
Ermmm I thought it came with the baseband?
Just checked and i do indeed have the Lolipop baseband...any other ideas? From searching around it seems a lot of people have this issue!

Id say if it happens on Stock Rom as well its probably a network issue related to the cell towers in your area. So i wouldnt worry too much about it
Can't be that either as it happens in multiple locations which are all around an hour from each other I'm gonna have to sell the phone at this rate and get a one plus one or something

Try Flashing 'Newer' Modem, first.....
If you are using Model D855.....:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3110376... Thanks to @Step-han
I have the latest 20p version already though, there are no newer versions
Have a case open with Vodafone (they have simply suggested sending the phone in for repair, not an option for me) and have a case with LG too who have only suggested basic things so far (none of which have worked) aiming to get both of them to progress the cases to their engineering teams
