Safe to roll? - Moto 360

@dproldan @jcase or otherwise ..
I know Motorola has this wonderful tradition of bricking phones if they roll back..
Before I take this update, I'd need to roll back to the latest that the toolkit has.
Any chance I'm going to brick my watch?

I still haven't updated, but I don't think there will be anything preventing a downgrade.
I've flashed everything up and down so far without issues.

the release note specifically state that it is not possible to roll back after applying the update. I don't know how true that is but that's what it says in black and white.

Needs to know

Some of you might know that I work for Verizon sales. I have had 4 inc2 come in this week all with the same issue. The phones will not boot past HTC screen. Factory reset freezes in bootloader. Have tried flashing a ruu but it freezes also. All of my customers phones have been stock unrooted. Any ideas as to what it could be.

Sounds to me like they bricked trying to root. Flashing an ruu theoretically should fix it but there may be a problem with the boot image
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
I thought the same but I really doubt that.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
I wouldn't doubt it becausethere are very few things that just randomly hard brick a device. I have heard that otas sometimes cause them but it is really late for someone to be getting an ota on this device.

[Q] Stock issues

i work in the sprint store and in the past few days we have gotten at least 4 people with an epic touch still running gingerbread (with no option to update to ics) having issues with the bottom buttons not responding, touch screen acting weird, vibration activating sporadically, and with one case the media scanner runs in a loop. the only way to solve these issues have been to factory reset. but could only be temporary. the customers havnt returned. these issues have not just been happening on older devices but recent activation's.
is this a common issue? is there a fix? (without rooting!) we are a sprint store. we cant promote that lol
Well, couldn't you use the one click ek02, no data, which isn't rooted, and then let the ota process take the phone back to el29?
EK02 thread is here.
It would be stock, unrooted and you wouldn't be losing data.
Worth a try before a factory reset anyway..
Only thing I can think of since you don't want to root, then unroot..

We can't do that. This is a sprint store and we are very limited on what we can do. So far factory resets have done the trick. We haven't gotten anyone back sense but we also told them it wasn't normal and that if the problems returned that they should take it to a repair center to have repaired or replaced.
It really sucks though. I wish I could manually flash these peoples phones but I'm not allowed

Oh. I thought you were meaning that your limitation was rooting, not flashing.

[Q] (HELP) Fiance's Note 2 has signal loss after 4.3 OTA

Hey guys I upgrade my fiance's Note 2 on AT&T to Android 4.3 via OTA update since the said update has been applied she has had major signal loss and pretty much no cell reception and comes in and out and its not stable any ideas? is there a way to perform a factory of factory reset via Odin? I've done a factory reset in the settings, but the same problem still exists. Or should I root the phone and reinstall the stock firmware (4.1.2) I'm thinking that it's the radio that was a bad flash during the OTA.
take it back to ATT and let them fix it
Does it still have a baseband or IMEI? Look in setting > about phone > status?

This ....^^^^.....
Seriously dude...
If your carrier borked up the device by their update...then "they" damaged your device...IMHO
Honestly...I've seen some shoddy updates over the years...but this latest really takes the cake...
Reports are everywhere on the web from all carriers regarding big problems...after taking this one...
Make them give you a "new" device....g

agree totally bro; I've never seen an "official" update screw up so many phones in the last 10+ years...ATT/Samsung should be ashamed of how shoddy this has been implemented, especially since it took them so incredibly long to put it out..
They replaced it

Thinking of sending in my one to get the pinkish camera hue fixed.

So I'm wondering if any of you have done this? How long did it take? Do I have to remove s-off, unroot, and relock before I send it in? Will it be possible to s-off and unlock after I get it back?
I was wondering about that too.
Same boat here. I've heard it takes about a week, but I haven't really heard if people have had luck remaining s-off, etc. I was actually thinking of starting a thread just like this.
I was just planning on flashing the stock recovery, rom, Santod's faux hboot and possibly relocking but not returning to s-on.

In actually doing this soon, probably when I return back to school, in just going to return to stock on everything including s-on but I might just leave it with the firmware I'm currently on and send it in. If they update it for me I'm not to worried doesn't rumrunner work on 4.3 firmware?
**** I'm in the wrong thread hahaha I got a Sprint variant. Well just go about it on a sneaky way like u described and hopefully they won't noticed because I think they charged some people for tempering with the system. If u don't want to risk the fee just s-on and wait for the rumrunner update.

I had the pink purple hue issue here, did the update to 4.3 now stabilizes and turns black, I just took a couple of pictures, and same issue little pink purple around edges... I think when my wife's contract is up in Feb, might use her rezound while mines being fixed... Kind of messed up how they let these get out with that issue... Mines a blue best buy one as well

I've been told it's a hardware issue so a software update probably won't fix it.

Glad you posted this. I'm just about to call mine in...I'm getting distortion as well as pink.
I was thinking that unrooting is a safe way to go...they will be looking at your software etc. If I have time tonight I might start the process.

I was thinking of trying this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475216 because then it would be on .8 and rumrunner would still be usable as long as htc doesn't update it when it gets fixed... Would this work you think or no?
That's what I'm going to do...

I would think that they would update it in order to have a "proper" test since part of the updates have fixes for the camera issues.

See my thread on it and my before and after shot it did take a week and they perform a factory reset before sending back so backup your data!

Are you guys sending your phones to Verizon or HTC?
I sent it for repairs, it was great and fast.they got it on a Tuesday and by Wed afternoon they had already sent it back. The week wait is because shipping takes 2-3 days to and from.
Do perform a system restore and also recommend reinstalling stock recovery if possible, although I did not find the file so I just flashed the stock Rom without a recovery and they didn't even notice. Just make sure it's what you're supposed to be on and not a leak or something. Good luck

HTC will fix YOUR phone, Verizon will just swap with a refurb, that is possibly having the same problem plus whatever reason it was sent back for. Don't recommend dealing with Verizon since all you gotta do is say I have purple haze on my camera and say what build youre on for them to submit the repair case with HTC they just fix it.
Btw cant even tell someone opened up the phone, actually my phone had a slight edge on the screen popping out and that was fixed too when they sent it back. But as always ymmv

Really don't want to lose root ability to send it in. Did you keep it s-off when you sent it in? Do you lose root when you go back to stock recovery ?

Sent Mine in
Restored to stock and s-on, sending it in on monday....can't wait for that hue to be gone haha but i won't have my One for around 2 weeks
I sent mine in today. I went ahead and returned to stock, locked and s-on...I didn't want to deal with it if they decided to complain about s-off. I flashed the .15 firmware followed by the .15 RUU (by doing this, assuming they don't upgrade to .1, I should still be able to use rumrunner correct?). I really don't think they'd upgrade anything, but I've got my fingers crossed just in case.

You should be able to use rumrunner. I was gonna do the same but I smashed my screen last night. Waiting for my replacement to come and praying it's not updated.:'(

They received my phone this morning and it entered repair around 9:45am so hopefully it gets sent back to me today. It would be nice to have it back by Saturday (it only took 2 days to get there using FedEx Ground so I'm assuming it'll take the same to return). I've been using my og Droid as a replacement...its BRUTALLY slow (but has features just as advanced as the new iPhone hahaha). I'll report back on the condition of my phone/camera once I receive it back!

Want to return phone but rooted it...

Is there anything I can do to return it because I'm just not happy with it..I still have days left to return to T-Mobile. .I know I would have to return to stock somehow at least...Should I just Odin back to the newest Ota or the one before? Do they check often on the Knox deal?
Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Definitely Odin back to stock and then just hand it over. I'd be very, very surprised if they checked Knox. In fact, I just used my Jump to get this phone and the rep I dealt with didn't even check to see if my old phone turned on. He only checked for water damage and put the phone aside and handed me my new phone.
However, if by some crazy chance you get someone that actually knows what they're doing and gives you trouble, just go to a different store/s until someone takes it.
Sent from my SM-G928T using XDA Free mobile app
I have to send it by mail..
Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
Well, that's a different story. I have read a lot of folks on here say that the people who receive these phones just completey reflash the stock firmware to the point that the phone is basically like new. That includes any kind of security features like Knox. I would think you should still be alright but I couldn't really say with confidence one way or the other as I've not had to mail in a non-stock phone before.
