Some of you might know that I work for Verizon sales. I have had 4 inc2 come in this week all with the same issue. The phones will not boot past HTC screen. Factory reset freezes in bootloader. Have tried flashing a ruu but it freezes also. All of my customers phones have been stock unrooted. Any ideas as to what it could be.

Sounds to me like they bricked trying to root. Flashing an ruu theoretically should fix it but there may be a problem with the boot image

I thought the same but I really doubt that.

I wouldn't doubt it becausethere are very few things that just randomly hard brick a device. I have heard that otas sometimes cause them but it is really late for someone to be getting an ota on this device.

If you mess up, you'll end up with a brick

How can u mess up

By flashing a radio for another device, is one way u could brick it. Other than that, the way that our radios have been packed, they are done through the booatloader. Flashing anything that way period is pretty much fool/error proof. Don't worry and just do it.

Flashing a radio alone is safe. Just don't pull the battery out during the process.

Foolproof unless your phone turns off during the process
To the OP..if your phone is working proper don't flash a radio. If it ain't broke don't fix it

Nope, not true.
Check out this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020691
And this too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028780
So THAT is the worst that can happen.
There was also a thread on here a few weeks back (can't find it now), discussing how radios are updated by HTC, but no effort is made to ensure they are backwards compatible with older ROMs (since they are not intended to be flashed seperately from the ROM update they are released with) and this can cause issues.
As Spastic909 stated, unless you have a specific reception or battery issue, don't mess with it. If you are getting decent reception and battery life, flashing radios willy-nilly is probably not going to help much, and might hurt.
You may also get squirel aids. You have to carefull.

This only happens when I'm trying to type a text message or play a game that requires the use of a touch pad (like zenonia 3 and 4). The touch screen just refuses to respond properly and is causing me to be annoyed. Anyone know how to resolve this issue so I don't have to go back to Verizon and get a replacement?
NOTE: I've already tried to pull out the battery, format the phone, and the sd card. None of them worked.

Yeah, but even when it wasn't rooted, my phone did this.

On aosp roms I had the same issue.. just randomly would not respond. My soft keys would still and anything but the keyboard.. I don't know why. What I would do is turn my screen off and back on and it would start normal again.. then I just went back to sense and no issues

Ok, then I think it's probably an issue with the digitizer. I would take it to Verizon and see if you can get a replacement.

I was afraid you would probably say that, but I'm probably gonna do that around march or april. Unrooting my phone is gonna be a pain and redoing the process over, but I have little choice in the matter. Thanks.

A few days ago, i sent my phone in for a warranty exchange. I unrooted the phone, but for some reason the boot logo never went back to stock. I also never could reset the flash counter because i do not have access to a jig. I had 3 days to get it sent in and i was forced to send it in without resetting the flash counter. Does anyone know what T-Mobile will do? Are they going to charge me any money??

No. It'll most likely get flashed to stock.right when they get it . I have sent phones in with counters and wrong boot logos such as mytouch and have never been charged.

I had to send my hard bricked SGS2 in for warranty exchange, it was still rooted even. They sent me a new one no questions asked. Most the time the techs who are doing the reflashing don't really care if you're rooted or not. Worst that could happen is they charge you, though I would say your probably on the safe side.
I sell cell phones for my job and I can tell you most employee's won't even know what rooting is if you told them. When I returned my Galaxy Nexus it was hard bricked and had the bootloader unlocked, but they had no idea.
I sent back a sensation fully rooted with a custom rom still on it and had no issues. I would not worry about it.

I sent my dog and got back a cat... I miss my dog.
I completely screwed up and bricked an old Nokia I had when I flashed the wrong firmware...sent it in they replaced it no questions asked

For future reference they say you have 7 days but you actually have 60 days from the date UPS ships it. They will bill you the non return fee after 30 days but they will credit it as long as its within 60 days. If your pushing it with the cutoff but made it get a printout showing you dropped it off.
Hope this helps

Am I the only one found this hilarious lol
Anyone else experience this? My wife has an HTC Vivid and she still has the option to bill to carrier and she is running ICS. I have not rooted my ion or loaded any custom roms on it, it's all stock..I called AT&T and they said they have no control over that. Is there a way to resolve this? I wasn't really able to find any answers online.
Make sure you are using carrier data and not wifi
Sent from my SK17i using xda premium
I have turned off wifi and even went to the extreme of wiping my phone. I have never had this issue before...surely there is a fix somehow. It also must just be this phone because I tried a different phone with my sim card and everything and that option was available and that phone was running ICS.

Hmm I don't ask you to follow this suggestion, but how about try to reset or flash a gingerbread version firmware?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda premium
I would be willing to try that. It's not that it's major that it's not working but it just bugs me because occasionally I do use that feature. Are there any good step by step instructions on that process? I just don't want to brick my phone or anything lol...

Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812168 you can flash the stock rom

My vibrator died. I even did a factory restore but that didn't help.
Any ideas I don't think phone is under warranty any longer.

Try using Kies and doing an emergency firmware update. It will ask you to input a model number. For AT&T it is SGH-I747 with caps and everything exactly as I wrote it. See if that helps your issue first.

This may or man not help, but my Captivate would sometimes do this with certain updates. I even thought about trying to replace the motor the first time and then after I updated to a different rom it was back again. Or maybe it was just a re-install. Either way, it did come back and I think it happened again once or twice as I tried lots of roms on that phone.
