I noticed the zenfone 2 does not have this feature. Is it possible to add it?
Maybe through an xposed module. But face recognition isn't that secure anyways.

I am running fully stock, not rooted. So, xposed is not an option. I am really curious why the option is missing from the smart lock selection.

Well maybe Asus had something against faces lol
Perhaps a future update will bring it, but not for now.

My Asus memo pad 7 had it when it was running 4.4.2 kitkat, but when it was upgraded to 5.0.1 lollipop they took it out, so I doubt we'll see it on our Zenfone 2.

Hi guys, I was wondering if I install any cm12 rom on my G3 (855) will i have the knock features still working ?
Thanks
likely not... not now anyway. CM12 isn't even official on G3 yet.

Okay thank you very much I'll stay on AndroidNow for now
Also to note is that most phones using knock code required xposed framework which is no longer supported in lollipop. They also didn't work while screen was off... So I'm guessing it may never happen to the extent you want it too.

What? Knock-on code works great on v20F/5.0/Lollipop without Xposed, or even without root. It's a feature that LG implented in their ROMs, it has nothing to do with root/xposed etc..
And it does work on a rooted device running a stock(-based) ROM with the screen turned off.
I meant phones running Knock Code that are not LG.... Sorry if that wasn't clear enough.
Knock code was a module within xposed framework to allow knock code on NON LG devices but only with screen on.
When the 851 finally upgraded to Lollipop we were left out on the new 5.x user profiles. The one where you get a nice picture in your status bar and can toggle between users. Does anyone know how to get this enabled? Kinda disappointed, I hate using guest mode from the G2 and KK G3.

May be your phone is out of ram. i can suggest you that:
- get root, disable Asus app, install Xpose and fix lollipop memory leak
or
- enable developer option and disable animation.

I m on android 5.1.1 and it doesn't have memory leak problems...and I tried other method too...it isn't working
Have you altered anything in the kernel?
Ive found I get some tiny flicker sometimes on CM12.1 01/09.

Yeh on Android 5.1.1 the screen flickers on certain apps. For me it's done it on only 1 app.
I'm not sure what all else have you don't to the phone but in my case, it's just CartonBox, it's not too bad.
Hello,
I just purchased a Chinese version of Oneplus 3 with Hydrogen OS.
I have installed Google Apps straight away with Xiaomi Google Installer and everything is running smooth and fine.
However, I found that Hydrogen OS lacks lots of features especially in the "Privacy and security" department. No option to set a normal password (only pattern or pin), no information on device encryption, no settings on lock... what's going on? Am I missing something?
How is it possible that there is no way to check whether or not the device is encrypted?
Regards,
That's especially strange considering that stock, vanilla Android includes such features. Why did you purchase the Chinese version instead of the A3000 or A3003?

Exactly, that was my same thought. I also have a Google Pixel C and a Galaxy S6 and the settings on both are far more complete, security being night and day. The fact that only pin (4 digit) or pattern is allowed, no password, and that there is no information on storage encryption is ridiculous.
The phone is the A3000, bought in China, with Hydrogen OS.

The Chinese version is A3000 too, model number: ONEPLUS A3000, firmware: ONEPLUS A3000_16_160630.
And by the way, Hydrogen OS seems not to support widgets... WHAAAAAAT?

One thing I do know is that China seems to really love knocking off iPhone. The no widget move seems to fall right in line with that lol.
BTW my firmware is ONEPLUS A3000_16_160705. I'm assuming the 0705 is the date of the release, which seems like it coincides with the newest release of Oxygen OS.
Seems like you just need to unlock that bootloader and say to hell with Hydrogen OS lol.

I am happy with stock BL/ROM, I just want to have regular Android features.
Does Oxygen have encryption on by default?

Yes. I agree though with @biglilsteve though. Time to unlock bootloader and load other firmware. Also on the point that Chinese phones do live to knock off iOS. You can however just install another launcher that supports widgets if you don't want to get rid of hydrogen.

Well, I thought this entire thread was surrounding your dissatisfaction with the stock ROM. Oxygen OS does encrypt by default. It shows this in settings (as any ROM should). I'm fully satisfied with OOS as a ROM and have no plans to unlock or root the phone in the near future. But it sounds like HOS is no good, so I'd probably go away from it.

Didn't think about just using another launcher! Maybe Google Now Launcher would be a good place to start.

LOL. The first (and last) time I tried miui I had to install a different launcher for widgets. I am a minimalist when it comes to home screens, and love the app drawer. Using a different launcher as default gets rid of the pesky iOS emulation that i try so hard to stay away from.

I installed Nova launcher as a workaround, probably going to keep Hydrogen OS as I read everywhere it's more responsive than Oxygen OS. The unlock button is blazing fast!
I still can't figure out where to find whether or not the phone is encrypted though.

I just got my brand new HTC 10 today. Double Tap to Wake works fine, but why does DT to Sleep ONLY work on the lockscreen and not from the Home screen?
Can someone help? I already did a Gravity Test/Calibration Check btw.
Thanks!
It would not work because probably the first tap would open the app from the shortcut on your home screen if you would have any. This is why this is not working on home screen or any other screen. Just in lock screen mode.

Kruk,
Ok. Is there ANY way around this though? My Sony Xperia phone has the same feature but NO issue with double-tap to sleep despite also having a lock screen.

On the stock ROM, no. Some custom ROM's have a feature that allows you to double-tap the status bar to turn the screen off, though.

yes, you would need to.
Nova Launcher has even a feature to double tap anywhereto turn the screen off....BUT it needs root to for that.

I have Pro Nova, but still couldn't get it to work. Well, I mean I did, but the problem is, while it's "working", all the security stuff on my phone gets disabled as a result. I DO NOT have this issue with LG, Samsung, and Sony phones, only HTC. This is unacceptable. HTC should know better.
Nova Launcher does it fine, however, when unlocking, if you use fingerprint security, it forces you to use the password. This is probably an Android security issue, and not an HTC issue, since it behaves this way on all devices. I'll let someone with more knowledge on the subject explain why it is so.

Yeah but on LG, Sony, and Samsung phones, their systems DO NOT force you to put the password/PIN in again. That's why I wish HTC would take note of what those 3 are doing and implement those processes on their own phones.

Hi jimm2,
I'm actually VERY familiar with that app and had been using it for years until recently. I also have family that still use it.
I DID actually try that one out too, and it DID work...........however, the sacrifice I have to make in order for it to work is that I can no longer have the security settings of my phone enabled.......it completely bypasses them. And I am not willing to give that up, so unfortunately I can't use it.
Thank you though anyway!
I have fingerprint security to unlock the HTC 10.
Now I cannot wake the phone with double tap to wake. Is this a bug or a security issue which is normal?
thank you

Hi,
I'm using the stock ROM. I'm guessing it may have to do with HTC Lockscreen. Is there a way to reset it? Or possibly there is another strange reason for the problem
Thanks
