Personal advice: if you are rooted, don't run it, unless you are up for an adventure!

I got two new apps, one called Installer, which just says "No applications available on memory card", basically the same as what you report, and one called Wireless Emergency, which just says "No alerts received." What are these for and why did the update have the identical version number?

The last one you said is in my background process list, but I can't see it in my app drawer. Weird...
I just noticed another subtle difference. I currently have no SIM in my phone, which causes a message to scroll across the notification area saying "No SIM card - Emergency calls only" (or "No SIM card - No service" if there is no signal). It used to do that on both lock screen and on the home main screen after unlocking, now it is only on the lock screen. Is there a change log for this update somewhere? It seems rather odd that they have released a tweak like this. The must have had some good reason for it.

Hi there, please I request your help on the following:
Since I bought my orange spv m600, I've always had that stupid 'Orange +' icon in start menu programs folder, I can't even mark it as hidden, it will be restored at next boot (at least I guess that happens while restarting).
edit: it should be the SIM card that writes it on every boot. I wonder how to overide/disable that... maybe a reg editing ?
Any idea how I could get rid of it ?
Thanks, niko
No Orange icon here
I have the SPV M600 G4 Model also from orange (Netherlands) And not the icon you are talking about. I flashed and unlocked the phone the day I got it. Think the icon might still be there on your SPV cous its not Unlocked ?
Greetz Ché ter Maat.
It's SIM-unlocked, is yours CID-unlocked ?
I guess there is an extra OEM memory zone which isn't flashed with cooked ROMs. It looks like that. With ANY rom.
i don't know how to delete it, but i know that it's a menu written by the sim card...
i bet that if you try with a different sim card you will not have the icon...

Damn... Thanks for your answer, of course you're right... Didn't try but I'm sure that's it.
Would someone has a workaround ?
I'll try to do my next hard reset with the SIM card off, then create a read-only hidden file with same filename, see if it helps... Stupid providers !
Title edited to reflect the subject better
When the SIM is off, the icon is not there anymore.
Then I tried to create a fake file with same filename and read-only attribute, it was replaced on next boot with SIM
i'm not shure if you still need the answer...
the program that adds the orange menu is SIMTKITAPP.exe
Well, it still interests me, thanks
How do I prevent it to run ? As it is not in my startup folder...

i dont think you can do anything only getting a sim from another company that does not offer does services. the icon comes out only when the sim has apps or services on it. if you try the sim on another device they will also come up.
i think that you have to delete some registry keys... i will investigate...
Hello Everyone!
I just rooted using UnRevoked 3.0. I was installing apps on to sd card and suddenly (while installing free spades from Market) the phone just sat there at "Installing spades" and never completed. Even worse now NOTHING installs. Not even the OTA Sprint voice mail upgrade app. What I did notice is that I can't format the SD card, the option button is grayed out. When I try to unmount the card I get this error:
"Sorry! Activity SD & phone storage (in Application Settings) is not responding."
I have the option to FC or wait and if I try and wait, the message just loops. Is there ANYTHING ANYONE can tell me about this. Please, please help!!!!
Try restarting the phone and see if that helps.
restarting doesn't work, re-running Unrevoked doesn't work. I don't know what else to do. Am I just app-less now?
It happens. Sometimes it takes a few hours to go back to normal, at least in my experience. Is it working for you yet?

I encountered a problem similar to this with my Evo. Basically the card stopped working and said I need to format it, but then it wouldn't let me actually format it. I contacted HTC and apparently they had a "bad batch" of the cards and they'll replace it for free, when they have some in stock. My advice would be to contact HTC or Sprint.
Not working yet. But one thing I forgot about is that after I rooted it I also installed "Choose install" from the Market and set the default to the storage card. I wonder if I should try and unroot my phone. I'm stuck there to because if I understand things right I would have to access my sd card to load a new zip file on it in order to unroot. My pc will no longer let me browse my device.

Thanks for the tip. That could be why I can no longer browse the device from my pc. I will give that a shot. Thanks!

You will need access to an SD card to unroot. My advice would be to either buy another one or just borrow a friend's or something. Why do you want to unroot anyways?

I don't really want to, I just thought I would have to do that to try and go back to "stock" or if I'm using the word right, back to the way it was when I got it. I thought it might be my last resort to fixing it. I would still re-root again so I can try and figure out how to get rid of all of sprints bloatware.
Just an update - I bought me a new sd card from buy.com, a 16 gb for about $30. It fixed the problem for a little bit. I started installing my apps, got a good amount of them on there and it happened again! I'm starting to wonder if you just can't install very many apps for this phone or by some odd coincidence I got a 2nd bad storage card????. Weird. I might start a new thread for this but thanks for all you who participated. You rock!
when it's stuck on install can you go to your manage applications option in settings and see if they're all stuck on 'computing' too?
Because this sounds all too familiar.

I have the same issue (seems to have started after I started using modinstallocation). About one in ten times I'm able to get my sd card apps back after battery pulls and multiple reboots, but not this time. When I go to manage apps, all the SD card apps are 'computing'.

i got mine all back today. I wiped the Dalvic cache from clockwork mod, and everything came back after a reboot about 5 minutes later.
Hey I a user from India.. Got the update 2.13.720.2.. After the update I have noticed a problem that the apps stored on the sd card dont get updated.. they get downloaded.. On installation it shows "Unknown Error - 18".. But if the app is moved back to phone memory it gets updated.. Also any apps that install directly to sd card also show the same error.. As suggested by HTC support I performed a factory reset still the problem continues.. Please help me with a solution..
Any help is appreciated... I hv not encountered anyone else facing the same problem... I hv contacted HTC support again but Im not too hopeful...
Also noticed another thing.. Apps which directly install to sd card do not get installed even with the application installer through the HTC sync software...
Well, even I upgraded to 2.13.720.2 but didn't notice any issue but except this "All the widgets on the home screen will have duplicates sitting on top of it" So you will have to delete all the widgets which is on the "first layer" the ones behind these works fine.
Hey there,
somehow XPrivacy is unable to find it's licence file...
I've put it in the root folder of my SD card as described in the activation instructions. (Which seems to map to /storage/sdcard1/XPrivacy_license.txt) But this had no effect.
In the about section XPrivacy tells me it would expect the license file in /storage/sdcard0. (See attached screenshot)
I also copied the license file to that folder without any effect.
Any ideas? Did anyone else have trouble activating XPrivacy on their Fairphone?
Hi seesawCharli,
I did not install a pro version but the normal one which you can choose in Xposed Installer - Downloads.
First it did not work but then I realized, that it must be installed in the internal storage (I did choose intall apps in phone storage before).
After moving it (both Xposed and Xprivacy) to internal storage (via settings - apps), rebooting, activating it in Xposed Installer - Modules, rebooting again - it worked.
I am not sure that would fix the issue in your case - but it may help the next one...
Hi sidingFP, thanks for your answer.
XPrivacy is running fine. In fact so well, I decided to get the pro version
But at first I also had your problem with several other apps until I figured that some apparently need to be installed in the internal storage.
Edit:
Solved it! I had to put the license file in the root of the phone storage, and not the SD card, as the phone storage seems to map to /storage/sdcard0/.
It was really confusing to see another folder called storage/sdcard0/ in the phone storage (so that would map to /storage/sdcard0/storage/sdcard0/), that was the wrong place to put the license file.

Hey there! These are default icons, no customization needed (at least on my Fairphone, I guess they might look different on your Xperia)
From left to right:
WiFi signal strength, this icon appears when you have logged into a wireless network.
Signal strength for 1st SIM card
Signal strength for 2nd SIM card, these two appear only when you have inserted a SIM card. The color can be customized in the options.
Ah okay, thought it was some customization i dont know about but like
...appreciated u taking time to answer me though. :good:
All the best :highfive:
WHAT DO I DO: "Error: The play store says not licensed please try again later or ask for support"
Dear All,
This is my desperate attempt after days of googled with a dead end.
Recently, out of nothing i have encountered a major error after years. It all of sudden. Bombarded with "google play service is stopped" then decide to reboot then never up again with "acore stopped working'' on the very first screen after samsung logo where you have unlock the screen.
I did wipe data/factory reset. All good. reinstalled all essentials. SuperSU and Rootchecker report im still rooted. Then noticed LINE app (by Naver) has a bizarre behavior. All image related operations is not working with message "Cant use SD card, please confirm SD card settings"
All other chat messengers all working flawlessly (BBM, Whatsapp, you name it) but this one. To be detailed, affected operations are downloading stickers, themes, chat image attachments, chat photos wont came out, trigger camera, attach/send photo..
Submit a ticket to Naver but returned with they have no support for rooted device.
Device detail:
N7100 4.4.2 (rooted)
SuperSU / Knox disabled
modified platform.xml (extsdcard write access)
Failed Attempts:
- format ext SD card from inside, issue still exist
- install / reinstall LINE app, issue still exist
any kind of idea/helps would greatly appreciated as most of my contacts and communication are mainly using this app. I hope you guys have knowledge to be shared for pinpoint the issue based on the error message above. I believe the solution can be a great value as there are currently none in the net.
Thanks
try to apply kitkat sdcard fix
click
I have the Xperia Z3 running on Lollipop.
Same issue, all apps such as whatsapp, fb, etc can access the SD card except for line.
The error message when trying to send a photo to someone in Line is "Can't use SD card. Please confirm SD card settings"
Reinstalled the app several times, unmounted and remounted the SD card, even moved the app to the SD card with the app itself still working fine. But still cannot send or receive photos or download stickers.
Also applied the suggested that sd card fix even though it wasn't really needed since all other apps can access the SD card just fine..anways it didn't help.
Any other ideas?
Oh yeah, even tried installing a Line version which was 6 months old - didn't help either.

I have the exact same issue after a full wipe and re-flashed custom ROM. The naver LINE app have the same issue as mentioned above. All other apps functions normal. Anyone found a solution to this yet?

Hi. I've encountered a similar problem recently. The interesting thing is that my telephone does not have SD card at all. So my first thought was that the problem is in permissions or cache.
I checked the permissions - app had full access.
Then I cleared programm cache on my phone. both inner memory cache and telephone memory cache (at least that's what they are called in my native language)
After that I tried to upload the image, yet it gave another error. something like: "cannot perform the action now, try again later"
I was quite short on the inner memory on my phone (around 70 MBs free), and thought it can be the problem. I deleted the biggest app and was able to upload the screenshots again.
Probably worth mentioning: I did not reinstall the Line app.
My device:
Telephone called ImSmart C471. China at it's best. Assembled in Ukraine though, company called Impression.
Android 4.4.2
In the latest build, Line apk cant send photo from internal/sdcard..it said line cant use sdcard..?
i had the same problem when i moved to new phone ( Xiaomi Mi4 ). I solved that. Just find the application permission setting in application manager. Try to find permission to stroarge. Change the permission to allow. That's it. That worked for me.
where's the settings?

I can't find any setting for permission to storage from the application manager, is there any? did I overlooked?
Try updating the app in play store. I had the same issue but solved with the updated version.
I had the smale problem. I deleted some pictures and videos and then restarted the phone. Works like magic
