[Q] Can someone get a korean radio on the Inc?

so, im pretty sure everyone has heard about the korean radio that gave the nexus one a 10x 3G Speed Increase, and i just wanted to know if anyone can port that over into the Incredible. im new to radios, so i dont know if there has to be any requirements for them.
also, ive also heard the speed increases are because of t-mobile releasing HSPA+ and not the radios, can anyone verify?
I've not heard about that, and all the reports I can find show a marginal at best improvement, and a 10x increase on an EVDO rev A network is impossible. The data rates just are not there.
I don't see this working in any way on the DInc since T-Mobile is a GSM network and Verizon is CDMA (hurry up and get LTE launched worldwide people! =p).

Calling all At&t users with a custom 4.0.3 rom installed.

I know Google recommends xxkk6 or UGkk6 with 4.0.3 however I get abysmal battery life with xxkk6 and I get frequent cell service drops with the stock xxkk1 radio.
What radio are you guys using?

xx seems to work better with AWS/1700 bands. Try the UGKK7 and UGKL1 basebands. Those were designed for canadian carriers which should use the same bands as AT&T.
T-Mobile user here, but considering the phone isn't out here we're pretty much all in the same boat. I've tried XXKK1/6 and UGKL1/KK7, and UGKL1 was by far the best reception for me. My buddy on AT&T said the same. UG designated radios are North American.
My phone came with XXKK1, and when I unlocked the bootloader and switched to a 4.03 ROM, I switched to UGKL1. While I'm getting less "bars" than I used to with my Motorola Milestone, my actual signal strength is about the same (-60dbm in great areas, -90 in my house). I feel like UGKL1 is slightly better, but its tough to say.

What Radio do you Recommend

For Tmobile in the USA

Can't tell me that you searched, because if you had, you'd see dozens of threads of people asking which radio is best. And in those threads, you'd see some people saying specific radios and other people explain to you that there's no perfect radio. There are many factors affecting which radio is best for you, and you'll choose the one that ends up working best. Try them all (there are only a few recent ones) and see what's best.
XXLA2 is the latest shipping 4.0.4 radio.
UGLC1 for both T-Mobile and AT&T in the US. I believe it's the newest radio and has been rock solid on both services (I have a SIM for each). Especially AT&T.

If you're gonna flash radios, start with this. It's a North American radio and the newest of all of them.
Generally, the GNex's radio works good enough that 75% don't bother flashing a new one. But you'll have to try them out for yourself, as what works great for someone in a different state/city/street/block may be crappy for you.
Whichever one works for you.

North American, European doesn't matter. What matters is the op trying them all starting with the latest. I'm using xxla02 and I'm in USA. Xxla2 performs better than uglc for me. Does that mean that it's better for all? No. Just means it's better for me in my area.

Flashable modem/baseband/radio ?

Does anyone have reception issues with this phone? Mine jumps so bad from full bars to no bars, LTE is spotty as hell, and believe me, my area and surrounding areas are fully equipt with LTE, great reception, etc.
Anyway to do like a better radio? baseband? some how? I remember my older androids (Samsung galaxys, LG, etc) I was able to find/flash new modems...anyone know of anything? Anyone having the same issues? I'm running Liniage, but I've tried MIUI, all of them ****ty spotty reception ? Btw, I'm in North Jersey (4 minutes from NYC) - Simple Mobile (T-Mobile) unlocked GSM
If you are using a custom ROM that is inevitable. There's no fix for it since we do not have full access into the phone. If you want spot on service you're better off staying on stock ROM.
oh?
I was under the impression that you guys did have full access into the phone, also, the stock is just well, laggy, and ugly,, and did I mention laggy? LOL

You'll need to unlock the bootloader, but you don't need a custom recovery :good:
On the subject.. I've been having reception issues since moving to Pie on T-Mobile. The last couple builds of Oreo included T-Mobile specific releases and reception was amazing. I don't want to go back to Oreo, so is there any way I can use the radio from the last T-Mobile build of Oreo? Also, would that be the issue when it comes to reception on T-Mobile?

Historically speaking, radios have been interchangeable on nexus/google devices. You'll need to be bootloader unlocked to fastboot it however. As far as reception/signal improvement on T-Mobile, there's only one way to find out
Does anyone have any tips for improving speed, performance, or network reliability on Verizon? Anything that we can do with the radios to do that? Other than take monthly updates of course.

I'm in a rural area on stock radios do make a difference you need to find the one works best for you. Depending on your phone and where you are. My phone worked great up until about 2 months ago then the radios changed with an update and it's been down hill ever since. Unlocking your phone is not a big deal you just loose all your stuff unless you back up. If your in a populated area you may not notice any difference in radios but if your like me in a rural area they do.
