Hello guys,
I bought a G4 from the T-mobile and I have a screen brightness inconsistency.
middle portion of the screen is darker than other areas especially when I'm viewing gray color.
it seems like a burn in but I just got this phone (less than 24 hours)
is everyone's screen alright?
I'm thinking about going to tmobile store and compare the display with mine.
would t-mobile store swap it for me? or do i need to contact their tech support directly?
either way, I'm heading to t-mobile store when I finish my job today.
No issues here on my TMO G4..
no issues on my T-Mobile device either

To answer my own question I visited T-Mobile store and they confirmed mine was svere case of screen defect. Just in case they ran the diagnostic for me but everything seemed ok.
Since I only had it less then a day, they would replace it for me and no need to worry about IMEI changes on that freebies promotions.
I'm at T-Mobile store waiting on line for my turn. Hopefully I'll get something better. At least less painful screen to look at.
Thanks for the quick feedbacks guys.

I've had my GS3 for a few months now. A few days ago I noticed a single green pixel stuck in the "on" position. I was able to press and rub the screen enough that it went away. Well, now it's back and the pressing and rubbing doesn't help. I'd really like to fix this issue without the hassle of unrooting and returning/exchanging. I did install this free app called Dead Pixel Detect and Fix, which is suppose to help with stuck/dead pixels. I've ran the fix for two nights in a row and I have to say the green pixel is less noticeable, (if that's even possible). I may run it a few more times just to see if it diminishes even more, but has anyone else had this issue? Found success in fixing the issue?
After a few days my screen issue has not improved. I decided to go through the hassle of unrooting and returning my phone to Sprint. I called my local Sprint store this morning and was told by the woman working that since I don't have insurance I'd have to deal directly with the manufacturer, and send in my phone for repair or possible exchange. When I informed her that would leave me with out a phone, (for possibly a long while) she just acknowledged the fact and basically had the attitude of it's my problem to deal with.
Does this seem right to anyone? True I do not have insurance but it is clearly a manufacturer's or component defect of a 2-month old phone. Why won't Sprint send it back to the manufacturer and give me a loaner phone in the meantime? Any advice would be clearly appreciated.
Im not sure what you want Sprint to do for you. You don't have insurance what else is there left to be said? Maybe next time you get a new phone you'll have some type of insurance.
As far as a loner goes just look in Craigslist for cheap ass Sprint phone, I'm sure you could find one for 20 or 30 bucks.

Do you work for Sprint? I don't think I'm being unreasonable. I'm not asking for Sprint to fork over a new phone. Just a loaner phone so I can send my phone to Samsung for repair.
Anyone else have any suggestions besides finding a 20 dollar phone on Craigslist. ?
Sprint sells refurbished phones on its website that reqhire no contract extension.

Last time I had a manufacturers defect on a phone with Sprint, they ordered me another one and I kept mine until it arrived. You may check with the store and ask them.
NOBODY has them that I have found so far. Most places only have the titanium color, and I'm not about to jump the gun and get something I'm not going to be happy with right off the bat. I still have my Captivate coming up on two years now, so another week or so of waiting isn't going to kill me, but I still would like to know if there are any White GN2's sitting at some local store just waiting for me to pick up.
You can actually search on the Web Site for what stores have inventory of what color. Pick the color you want and underneath the color you will see check inventory.

I've already done that for BestBuy, AT&T, Walmart, and Target. No luck.
It's the opposite in jersey! I want gray but they only have white in stores!
I myself had trouble finding a white model for att in Atlanta area. After seeing the Grey one enough times, the color grew on me, and I got it. I picked up a white flip cover. It a nice combo imo. The store I purchased one told me they would call me if a white one becomes available and allow me to exchange and waived the restocking fee for me, that's if the phone comes before my return period ends.
My local Best Buy just received a bunch of Titanium and White. Picked up a white on at Lunch
Central PA
Here just north offyou in central PA I looked up the stock online on Friday and everywhere said they were out of stock. I gambled and called 2 stores that I pass on my way home. The one had 2 in stock. I stopped in and they had some and were getting more. I know that does not help your question for Baltimore, but you might be better off just calling some that are local to you. Good luck!
Just wondering how many folks out there did a handset exchange on their T999 land got the LTE model back...
My audio jack is becoming unreliable and I'm going to have to do an exchange... Wondering of I will get lucky (I'm in an LTE market)
I got one several days back and received a non-LTE T999, which looks refurbished too. Not complaining since it has no scratches or anything...
i complained about the service network for interneton my t999 so they swapped me into the s3 lte t999l my god the speed is mind blowingly fast ,it blows my brothers iphone out of the water,if you can get an lte for free get it
I got a replacement in on Monday.....T999.

I also got my replacement on Monday (see post 2 above) but I'm starting to get worried now - this is obviously a refurbished one with the original screen replaced. The screen which is on the phone looks OK but is missing the 'SAMSUNG" inscription at the top under the speaker and the menu and back buttons do not light up uniformly - only half of them are lit. The missing inscription is being quoted around as one of the features of the fake S3's with non-AMOLED screens, which gets me worried - did Asurion scam me with a fake screen?! How does yours look like?
All warrany and insurance claims are always replaced with refurbished devices. I don't believe Sammy does the refurbishing either, so the parts used are likely correct and from samsung, just not branded as such because they probably buy in bulk. Thats my guess anyway.

My replacement came Thursday, not a T999L. But the network speeds on this new phone are terribly slow (one 20MB app from Play Store takes 5 Mins to download on "4G") so I'm going back to T-Mobile to request a T999L.
Good luck! And let us know how it goes!

I am getting my replacement on Monday. They said nothing about a t999l, so I'm guessing t999

Just because you want it, it doesn't mean that they will give you one. Also, just because it is capable of LTE, doesn't mean that you get LTE service or the D/L speed that you are hoping for.

Exactly. The lte model is going to perform the same depending on your coverage, it won't just be faster because it has a few extra bands..and as far as the exchange questions, its luck of the draw, depending on what shows up in the exchange form for the rep, that's what you get. T999 may be out of stock or on backorder so you get t999L, but don't count on it, and don't expect it to be amazingly better.
Its so small, yet noticeable. Paid the full price for the phone, but I'm thinking if I take it back, they'll think I did it. Just because its there, its driving me crazy. What would you guys do?

Basically, I'd like to know if I should return it. It's so small.
If you got it from an authorized retailer and you've only had it for a day or so I would bring it into the retail store and try to have it switched out. Call them first, be honest. Hopefully somebody decent will help you out or get authorization from a manager.
It will help if you have some sort of print out (order tracker details stating delivery date and time if shipped or receipt if bought in store) saying when you bought or received it. Call multiple stores until you get the answer you want. Be somewhat confident and aggressive that you paid good money for the phone and you deserve a minute t condition decide upon arrival.

Bought from a TMO corporate store, this morning.
Oh yea.. They should do it man. Read the edit, be direct, confident and respectful but demand what you paid for.

It depends on who you bought it from. If you boutch it from a retailer take it back they'll replace it. But if you didnt you may have a hard time returning it, much less getting a replacement from the same person. Thats why whenever I buy something ie ebay/craigslist/amazon, as soon as I get it I take pictures of it, with the same days newspaper in the picture so it validates the date. and i make sure they have pictures of it before the package it.

Bought at a TMO
I would take it back today. Same day with the nick almost guarantees a replacement even if they do think it was you. You probably lose 50 percent of your chances even by the second day and then from there you might be screwed.

Good point. Hopefully I'll have no problem. I'll report back. Is quality control on these phones pretty bad?
I don't think so I purchased an AT&T version and a tmobile version both were perfect. I haven't seen any complaints on the forums, although a few they seem to be very few and far between. Good luck I'm rootin for the little guy.
thank me dammit i probably helped you!!

That was a signature test. It was supposed to come out small with italics and possibly be funny with a point. Didn't work, my bad didnt mean to come off as a d.

Update: Ok I went to the T-Mobile store and they really hesitated to swap out my device. The girl had to call her manager. She did question if I did this, and I told her very humbly that I did not. She was like, well you had the device for 10 hours. Her manager then agreed to let her swap it out.
New device seems fine. No nicks on the bezel.
Hell yea buddy. I was very persistent with them and finally they sold me an sm_s900t with no service plan. It's funny though, I'm actually cancelling my att service tomm and headed to a T Mobile store to start using them as my new wireless carrier. I had no idea that their data plan was so good until today. Peace ATT. I've been with them for 5 years and I still pay 110 a month for my current plan. Better plan for $40 cheaper on
Congrats

Exactly my scenario. Using TMO on an unlocked att iphone 5S, they sucked. Using a TMO GN3, it's a whole another story. I'm using the $70 prepaid plan, but plan on porting my two att lines over soon. I am so sick of AT&T's locked boot loaders, and them throttling my data every month. What pisses me off the most is not everyone on the old unlimited data plan gets throttled. I was really shocked to see TMo LTE light up in so many places today. With one bar, I pulled 25 down. Yea att is faster, but who cares. Now I won't have to monitor my usage with my unlimited plan.
Yup that's the first thing on my to do list tomm. Att who? Never heard of em.
Should be no problem returning it
One of my buddies, we'll call him " Butterfingers" dropped his brand new T-mobile Note 3 2 hours after opening, while sitting in his room. It fell and slightly dinged a corner. He went to T-Mobile the next day and they overnight a new phone for him, no questions asked. LOL
Glad it worked out for you.
Hey so I am taking my phone back to AT&T to get a replacement but just wanted to let you guys know that my phone will get up to 180 °f just being on a phone call. I was told this is not right by an AT&T rep. Have not heard anything from LG but I am assuming they will say the same thing. I used CPU-z to view temp rewdings. What are you guys running under lead and testing and such

my phone was extremely hot, verizon variant, just took it back today and exchanged...will report back as to how it feels...LG said something to me too
If I ordered online, can I exchange in the store?
I used my ATT g4 to drive around los angeles this afternoon with waze running. It wasn't hot after unclipping it from the cell phone holder.

i would imagine so, but youll have to look at the website return policy
Alright so I exchanged my g4 for a new one. This one runs very cool. It has a hard time getting over 100°f. Was on a call for an hour and a half last night and stayed cool didn't even get warm. LG also told me unless under a heavy load the phone should remain cool. So if your new G4 gets hot take it back!
Glad it was just the unit. Bad ones coming about in every batch lol

I don't use mine much for calls, but I've made a couple of "hangouts to phone" calls in the last two days, and it's gets hot during that.
