Certainly that can't be right.
Nevertheless, I have to say my experience getting my bricked phone (my fault entirely) replaced throught the ATT warranty dept went very well.
They even included overnight shipping, didn't require me to ship mine back 1st and included a return shipping label for my crapped out phone. I made the claim Friday and received my new phone Monday 11 am.
Well done ATT.
Congratulations!
What can you advise me to do with my bricked phone? I bought my phone from eBay and I live in Israel. I think that will not be able to replace my phone for a new one. Only if I'll send it directly to LG. But will there be something to do?

Maybe LG but ATT won't do anything for you unless your a customer. And usually warrenty is not outside of the country you got it from.

I think this particular ATT Rep was smoking salmon...I have returned 2 already due to warranty stuff and will probably be selling the next replacement I get...the rep at my local store wasn't overly enthused with the phone and said that was the consensus.
On a lighter note they were very helpful with getting this taken care of and doing so very quickly...

I don't have AT&T so despite living in the USA, I sent my phone directly to LG. (I use an AT&T MVNO, so I don't get support from AT&T) LG repaired it free of charge and mailed it back. So I guess LG does something right.

what's been the issue(s) with your phones?
Generally, I tend to find local store rep's opinions to be, well, less than they should be. After using this phone for 2+ months I'm unsure why a local store rep would not communicate the benefits of this device as opposed to their lack of enthusiasm for it.
I don't think the phone is so bad...I think there are lots of great things about it. I love the screen, it has the potential to be so quick and snappy and really could be an all around awesome phone...I just realized the fact that updates were going to be a little slower towards this phone and it seemed like making any slight mod (firmware/rom wise) would work but had a much higher failure rate than I think anyone was looking for-hence my looking to move on...
The specific issues with my phone were a short or something that just hard bricked the phone without warning and without any mods...at all. It just turned off one day and nothing could ever, every be done to get it back on. Strange.... the second phone has never been quite right after installing a rom and the boot loops and not being able to reboot was kind of a turn off. Plus the speaker in the earpiece has been a bit wonky so I decided to do a warranty return and then move on from there.
And you're right...some of the reps seem to be way off from what's realistic...you can tell they definitely play favorites and seem to be very partial and unsupportive. But at least they were helpful!

I called LG Customer Service and told them the device wouldn't power up. (I had done a battery pull and it totally hardware bricked the device.) They had me send it to Stellar Wireless with the Repair Authorization # they gave me. I got it back within 7 business days.

Exchanging in a store during your 30 day buyers remorse period is different than exchanging through warranty. You might have exchanged it several times in store, but to AT&T's warranty department, this is the first time. They keep track of how many warranty claims you make, once you get to a certain point they usually allow you to try something different.
As for AT&T store reps, many of them base their opinions on phones on popularity, return rate, etc. The Nitro/Optimus LTE is an awesome phone, but it isn't very popular saleswise.

One problem - I live in Israel, and in my country this device is officially not for sale. So I do not know how and where to call and send the device. I have no idea what to do.
AT&T reps were trained to lie to customers. I had to turn in my SGS2 twice for exchange, and both times I was told I was the first to exchange the SGS2.

Quick question. My G3 developed a screen fault on the 6th so i rang three for repair. LG sent out all the envelopes, padded and special delivery so i sent the phone back on the 9th which they signed for on the 11th. Apparrently that isnt the day they count their 3-5 days from, as that starts at the point it gets to the technicians. I spoke to a guy on monday whio simply said its with the technicians and to wait...its a pain in the backside as i am phoneless, am paying for a contract that i cant use and see no timescales. the guy on the phone on monday wasnt much help (though not his fault i suppose) but as im going away next week i kinda want the phone back before i go. has anyone sent their phones back to LG and got it back quick or is it looking unlikely that it will be back by next week? Its a pain as they havent told me a thing, havent said if they are going to mail me, ring me etc. not good though that its lasted less than a month before needing repair, after my very light usage of it. should i keep ringing them to chase them along?
Also had a bad screen. After two months the middle of the screen just stopped worked, in a horizontal line.
Called my reseller and said that it could take one month maximum to get it fixed (she couldnt say anything more in detail). Thats insane, imo. Especially since its here in Sweden and bought from a well known reseller with quick and good support. But yeah, i sent it to LGs service center.

In all my local forums, people keep saying their G4 has died with mainly motherboard problem, then need to go to LG to fix it, and even LG ran out of motherboard and asked a lot of them to wait for a week or two for new motherboard. All photos or anything cannot be got out and totally lost once motherboard just died. Do you have similar experience?

Or in my case..bootloops and now it ll just shut down entirely after showing the LG boot logo for a few seconds..it wont do anything at all unless I pull the battery, put it back in..and then it does the same. So..for all intends and purposes this thing is dead.
Mine was a hw v1.0 manufactured in May of 15.
I'm pissed..lost a ton of pics and vids of my newborn
I had to send mine in 3 weeks ago for major overheating issues and unresponsive touchscreen. I received it back on Saturday. Overheating issues still happening, but now I can't make or receive calls. I had to send it back again. LG Customer support is awful.
Got my Verizon G4 on Nov 1.
Manufacturers Date Oct. 2015
Died 3rd week November.
Mailed back to LG and got my phone back 2 weeks later.
Still testing my repaired unit (was hoping for a replacement but no go).
Using stress test app several hours a day.
So far, OK...

As I mentioned elsewhere I'm very much done with LG. First they didn't acknowledge issues with the gps chips in many of the G2..(went thru 4 of em) and now this..on top of the touchscreen issue (which got a bit better with recent updates) something that once again seems to be down to poor quality control and is being swept under the rug. Ridiculous really.
Back to Moto, HTC or perhaps go with Samsung for the first time (somehow managed to avoid them since starting with the OG Droid) when I can upgrade again. Sucks because I really love the LG cameras in particular and the removable battery n storage.

I was considering getting the Nexus 6P and selling the LG G4, but I don't think I want a phone quite that big again (previous phone was the HTC One Max). That, and if there's one thing I love about it, it's the camera which is hard to give up. The manual controls are great.
But dealing with their Customer Support is enough to take my business elsewhere going forward. My wife, sister, and I all go the LG G4 on release. Theirs ended up fine, but that's almost $2,000 in sales right there. A supervisor doesn't have the power to do overnight shipping. What BS. Over a month without my phone when you consider that I have to send it in back-to-back times. And HOPE that it comes back repaired this time.
With Verizon Wireless, just call Verizon Wireless Level 2 support at 1-866-892-7957. They will send you a Certified Like New Replacement by FedEx Express and then you either return your original phone or the new one should you not like the new one using the pre-paid shipping label. They do not care where you bought the phone as long as it's a model that Verizon Wireless sold so basically you get the 12 months manufacturers warranty. If you have Total Equipment Coverage, then the warranty is as long as you still have TEC and the phone gets sent FedEx Express Standard Overnight. You have 5 days to send a phone back to them but in reality, it's a month.

No, you have to be a current Verizon Wireless customer.
I have a G4 (VS-986) originally bought in June 2015 (and then replaced twice on the spot by Verizon when it broke on two different occasions, including another bootloop about a year ago).
I went to the LG website, looked up support, reported my purchase date, provided a PDF of my receipt, and picked one of the "Power" problems when asked what the issue was.
The website took my return immediately, gave me a prepaid shipping label, and LG fixed it in a week flat. (They replaced the mainboard; serial number is the same.) So I can confirm they are fixing phones with this problem regardless of warranty.
Here is another good thread about it:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g4/636120-kinda-official-lg-g4-bootloop-thread-37.html
WooT 8 AM sharp my V30 order with T-Mobile has been placed, with a ship date of 10/5-10-6. Of course I selected overnight shipping....Ill keep everyone updated.
FYI the website for the LG /Daydream promo is:

After fighting with the live reps who didn't even know what the phone was and couldn't find it in the system, I finally gave up and placed my pre-order online. I got a window of today through the 9th for shipping. Really hoping it does go out today so I can test the cameras over the weekend.
---------- Post added at 12:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:53 PM ----------
Looks like the promo isn't live yet but if I remember right, we needed to have the IMEI number to get the V20 headphone promo.
My rep, Denise, was great. she knew all info, had me order online, instead of on phone, saving me a service fee. She also informed me of how to order the Daydream promo via website.
As I am currently phoneless, and stuck in the dark ages (how did I survive the '70s and '80s) I too hope it ships ASAP

Yes, I'm on T-Mobile so just to make sure I got a version that supports the new bands, I decided to go that route. (That and I like the EIP option.)
Pre-Ordered Mine online today with TMO... The Pixel XL was tempting but I like the IP68, DAC, dual camera, and SD card slot. Hope to enjoy this phone for the 2 years and hope for a quick Oreo update to it.
I like that Google Lens from the event yesterday. I am wondering how/if that could be used on the V30. I'm not really into rooting it as I have Citrix Secure Mail on it for work...
Coming from the Moto X Pure 2015 which still does NOT have 7.0 on it and the battery is starting to lag on it as well. Time for an update for sure. My cheap Asus ZenPad has 7.0 on it for months.. Really disappointed with Moto on the updates, I know there must have been issues with 7.0 and the build for the Moto X... Oh well not my problem anymore!!
Glad to be back on XDA and will monitor the forums for cases and screen protectors...

No. Let us know if it has ADB flash commands with an unlocked bootloader. For the LG G6, T-Mobile/LG let the bootloader be "unlocked", but removed all the ADB flash commands. So, as of this date there's still no root, no TWRP, etc. for the T-Mobile LG G6.
See this post for more info:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=73652182
Like being given the keys to a sports car, but there's no car.
The unlocked bootloader does no good. The phone is still basically locked down.
I would bet they will do the same with the T-Mobile LG V30. Hope I'm wrong.
Woo hoo! Mine too! Unfortunately, my case won't be here until Saturday. I'm going to be freaking out until then. I've already watched a few videos of how well GG5 fares in drop tests. Won't get to run it through any tests until Saturday though.

Ordered mine first thing this morning... now says shipped via overnight delivery at Tmo. UPS has the label entered with tracking number. I assume I will see it tomorrow.
I called T-Mobile and customer rep gave me free overnight. Always call in. They also give free sim card instead of charging $25 if you need it.
My status just changed to SHIPPED!!!! Not sure if UPS will pick it up tonight though. Just label created and tracking number. I'm sure I'll get it by Monday.:fingers-crossed:
I called at 8am sharp and rep was not able to find the phone. I was on the call for 15 mins. Language barrier I knew right away was going to be a problem. I finally got pissed and hung up on her and called back. It was 8:30 by this time. Got a rep that got the order in. However, I have 10/5-10/9 with a status of processing. I have overnight shipping though. I'm pissed I won't have it for the weekend.

Yup, I also tried calling in right when orders opened and ended up wasting almost an entire half hour with someone who had no idea what I was talking about before hanging up and just ordering from the website. The front line reps these days are worthless on the phone and on social media.

I should have done online. I have been seeing where people are getting their phones today. I was wondering why I didn't get any tracking info. WELP....The jackoff didn't give me overnight, so it's comes on Tuesday. I called in to find out what she charged me for if it's not coming. The rep tells me the device isn't releasing until the 13th and when it ships on Monday, I'll have it Tues, which isn't the 13th. he also told me no one is getting them today. I told him he was totally clueless what his own company is doing and he's a supervisor. Ugh!
I guess it just depends on the rep you get on the phone. The one I spoke with knew all about upcoming phones, we talked about the Pixel launch while waiting for his computer to process. I checked status and I'll have my phone today!!! On schedule for delivery. I was not expecting it until next week. Weird how the local store rep told me they had them in the store but he could not sell one to me. That makes no sense. Call in they ship it but can't buy one in the store even though they have them in the back.

Totally the roll of the dice I have found after about 5 calls to them over the last month. 2 out of 5 times I got a smart and informed one. I suggest if you feel you are not getting anywhere with one of them, dont let them learn on the job with you. Hang up and call in again.

Ouch! That's just about the same experience I had last year with the V20 and T-Mobile. Rep that helped me didn't even offer overnight and some people were claiming that they were just upgraded to it. So I assumed I had been too. Then the forums started lighting up with people who had ordered getting shipping notices. At first, they were all times before my order time but then as the day progressed, it rolled well past me by hours. Calling in, I got the same run around as you did. Their processes for orders/upgrades suck! Supposedly once you order, you're locked into whatever choices you made. Which is asinine this day and age. I sent an email in that somehow ended up at the Executive Response division. Guess what I said wasn't really taken to heart though because I complained about pretty much every complaint I've seen surrounding this launch too.
So went to my local TMobile store today to pick up a v30, and they have none in stock and then told me they can't sell in store till the 15th. Showed them the tmonews that showed on sale in stores today and they had no idea. Called the store in the next town, they told me they don't go on sale till the 17th. Looks like I'll have to order online as no one knows what's going on. I'm not happy at all.
Update: I've called every store within a 50 Mike radius and not one store had this phone in stock.
Pretty much what to expect in a store ....
Talk to someone on the phone, more likely to waive any fees and throw in overnight shipping.
Same issue here. I've called every store within driving distance and not a single one has them in stock and none of them seem to know when they'll be getting them. It's pretty frustrating.
I had previously made up my mind to go with the V30 with my JUMP! On-Demand, rather than buying the Pixel 2 XL. However, LG's inability to properly launch a phone/stock carrier shelves with their phones on the date that they promised has me re-thinking my decision. LG just may have lost my money with this B.S.

If this were an iPhone or a Galaxy phone, TMobile employees would be tripping over themselves to sell you one. With this they don't even seem to care.
Update: take a look at TMobile's Twitter feed. People are pissed.

I'm pretty sure it's TMobile that **** the bed on this one. AT&T and Verizon have the V30 in stock at their stores.
Funny. I thought i was the only one who felt this way today. I call 90% of all the corporate stores in new york and nj. Even waited for today shipment to arrive and noone got it. They have a paper which claim. The release day is 13.. today. Dont know if is tmobile or lg not suoplying enought unit but base on marketing and how they are handleling the v30 right now is going to be disappointing selling device. Im actually wanted to switch my note 8 for this phone and after spending so many hours i have decided not to get it.
Before u asked. Yes note 8 is better. Already played with the lg v30. But i take the v30 more comfortable size. Hifi dac, non curve screen, right place finger print. Face unlock (WITH SCREEN OFF).

Link? Curious to see this.
EDIT: Never mind. Found it.
LG doesn't seem to realize how much money they lose by not having their devices available on the launch date that they set with the carrier. It's such a momentum swing in the wrong direction for them. By this time next week, the V30 will have been forgotten in the minds of many because LG failed to get it into the hands of those who will sing it's praises and get more people into stores to buy the phone. The S8 and S8+ were readily available at T-Mobile on their set launch date, as well as the newest iPhone 8's. Which leads me to believe that this is solely on LG and not a screw up by T-Mobile.
Had the Samsung S8 not been available on its release date, I would have gone with a different phone. LG not having the V30 on launch day is going to push many, such as myself, to go a different direction.
LG can't expect to try and keep up with Samsung and Apple by pulling this crap.

Link? Curious to see this.
EDIT: Never mind. Found it.
LG doesn't seem to realize how much money they lose by not having their devices available on the launch date that they set with the carrier. I thought it was just a T-Mobile thing but it looks like someone tried to get a V30+ from Sprint in one of the other threads. They went through the whole process to only find out the only unit in store is the floor model.

I went to my local store again and none in stock. They just had me order one and felt so bad about not having them they waived the upgrade fee and overnight shipping. Saved me 45 bucks. Just have to wait now.

I tried the same thing and none of the stores near me had any stock. I did get a chance to play with the store model for about 10 minutes and I was very happy with it. Didn't see any banding at low brightness either!
I guess that I'll go ahead and order online. Too bad that Tmo only has silver to sell as I sure would have loved the black one.

And my phone has shipped. Hoping for tomorrow, but will probably be Monday.
Got out of work expecting to pick up one of these bad boys, only to be on the same boat as all of you.
The weird thing is that I spoke to the staff at the tmo near me and they told me that they were going to have the phone today. Today they told me that they received an email regarding the absence of the phones so even they were fooled.

Did LG finally did some quality control and concluded there are screen issues? And they better delay a week and prevent warranty issues??

Only that there absolutely no news on anything, with LG Italy that keeps answering "we'll release informations about price and availability in short time".
