[Q] HTC one m8 : battery drains overnight :(

last night I had fully charged my m8 and when I slept at 12 it was 95% and morning when I woke up at 8 it already drained up to 15% battery ..that is 80%...I don't understand what's the reason for it ...no apps were running background and even power saving mode was on!
battery works great on normal mode..this happens mostly in standby mode!!
is anyone facing the same problem or I m the only one. .

Is there anything that could have been turning your screen on during the night? That sort of drain would most likely be caused by the screen. Has this happened before? It could be an isolated incident if not. Also, if you used extreme battery saving mode I doubt you would have had the problem, but that is a personal preference sort of thing.
Also, install GSam battery monitor and you can check what might have been going on when the drain was occurring.
Yes, need gsam screen shots. Or every reply will be a wild guess. And you need gsam root companion.
Hopefully you are rooted tho... Or you can't see the wakelocks from apps.

is my battery draining fast ??

just bought the phone yesterday , worked few hrs on JB 4.3 then updated kitkat 4.4.2 via odin
battery drains hell fast ( it drops about 17 to 20% ) per hour on wifi + lowest screen brightness and internet browsing while disabling all other connections and sensors , this is my first charge
used it few hrs on JB but still the same results , did factory reset after kitkat update, and alreadt installed about 7 popular apps which i don't think to cause battery drain that fast (whatsapp, viber ,fb,) but even b4 installing them battery drops
this is far below battery tests in gsmarena review
help plz
From your screenshots i can see you are getting 2 hours SOT in 36% which is quite good.. not bad..
Sent from my SM-N750 using XDA Free mobile app
Did u activate power saving option? Enabling this option improves battery daily usage.

Battery Issue

I was facing some serious battery usage problem on my s6 edge.
so i finally decided to check it out
step 1 = I completely drained out my mobiles battery until it didnt got shut down on itself.
step 2 = I charged my phone for 10min which the company claims to be useful for 4hrs of task
so for 10min of charging i got 18% of battery life.
which shows 3hrs 18min of usage and using power saving mode it shows 3hrs and ultra power saving mode shows 7hrs and 19min.
Does anybody has battery problem with their edge ??
I dont play games just normal usage like whatsapp and bbm and sometimes snapchat and insta gram

The battery issue and fixes for it have been discussed a lot on here. There are unrooted solutions and rooted solutions. Please be a bit more specific about your device itself such as whether you're rooted? Did you use CF-Auto-Root? Are you unrooted? Did you flash the OTA update? Giving these types of details will hopefully make it easier to point you in the right direction.
I havent rooted it.
My phone is the same as i got it out of the box.. i have only updated all the apps and a firmware update which came automatically when i switched on the device.

Where's my good battery life?

I have never had good battery life on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 ever since I got it in April of 2015. I did a battery test using the Geekbench app and it gets only 4-5 hours of life. And since this is just screen on time, my battery normally drains much faster. I've tried 4.4 Kitkat, 5.1.1 Lolipop, and even 6.0 Marshmellow with no real difference to battery life. I have also tried battery monitoring and battery doctor apps, as well as deleting the batterystats.bin file and even ripping my tablet apart and reseating the battery connector. I've thought about replacing the battery, but the only battery i can find is from NewPower99 and that's $60.00, way too much for a battery in my eyes.
Plenty of battery`s on eBay.

me too in my tab s sm t700
battery life is die quickly in stock rom 5.0.2
Keep your screen brightness as low as usable, avoid white or light screens as they use the most power it is a disadvantage of oled displays, I keep my display on auto -5

Downgrade to KitKat, as the other day i upgraded to lollipop and the battery was dropping 1% every other min its a joke. So i downgraded to KitKat and it gives me easy 3 days use and that's heavy use T705!
How to downgrade t705 to kitkat
I use a built-in feature to keep the screen toned down. In the display settings, there is a reading more feature where I select the apps I primarily use, including my default launcher Nova Launcher, and it tones the screen brightness down while those apps are in focus. Like right now while I'm using the Tapatalk app.

Head over to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ download your firmware and flash using odin it's real simple!
Found this over at Android Central as last few days my battery has been all over the place, as it was fine before. Anyway my battery dropped to 5% turned it off. Waited a minute or so, turned it back on bat was showing 45% wow so i'm draining it again Ive let it drop to 5% again this is the 3rd run now its showing 42% crazy credit goes to rouge-hawkins
I had the same issue on my brand new Galaxy Tab S LTE version with Exynos chip. I was like WTF on the battery because the moment i disconnect it from the charger it would soon drop to about 85% in 5 minutes. Then the dropping continuous in huge leaps like from 70% down to 30% while i'm just browsing the web. Then when it came down to 5% it would turn off. The moment i plug in the charger while the device is off the battery level would start at 40%. It was erratic for 2 weeks. Good news is i was able to resolve this without doing factory resets.
What i did was the moment the battery came down to like 5% i completely turn off the tab and turn it on , the tab reported a higher battery level like 45% then i continued using and until it drops again to a lower level like 3%. I power cycled the tab again and it reported battery level at around 24%. I used it again until battery level went to 3% and rebooted it, then it reported 12%.. used it again until the device really wont boot anymore. Then i used a slow charger. I used the 1A usb charger from my other phone (while off) and waited until 100% full. Then things became normal.. it reports battery level fine after. I also installed Clean Master and disabled some background apps and Samsung bloatware that i really dont use. Everything is ok now and im happy with my Tab S 8.4... hope this helps for those who got their device over the holidays. I resumed using the 2.1A default charger and issue doesnt seem to repeat anymore.

No deep sleep after battery change GT I9195I

A few days ago I went to buy a new battery for my s4 mini plus . However my s4 mini plus had the battery of the Ace 4 not the s4 mini one . After buying and installing the new battery for some reason the phone depletes battery faster and after some point it enters deep sleep and stops the battery consumption from 5-7% every 45 minutes to 0 % after 2 hours (data and WiFi off). If I leave the phone with data connection enabled either LTE or WiFi it carries on to deplete the battery 3x as fast no apps running . Before and after the battery change I was using the same apps. Can this be a problem with the battery not being the one the plus edition had but the battery of the s4 mini ?
