Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read my post. So, here's the thing: I had some photos, which I had locked with the default option(when seeing them in Gallery-->Options-->Lock), and my ex-girlfriend(which is a whore, apparently), deleted them before she broke up with me. I need to recover them. Thanks for all the help, brothers!

DiskDigger or Undelete
Freeware Apps that will help you recovering those deleted photos.
( Just the sectors shouldn't be overwritten )
Your phone needs to be rooted to run those apps.
Both of them are available on play store.

When you root your device you can remove all apps you want. I use Titanium Backup for that because I can delete data file that can be leftover after uninstalling of app.
thanks

that is not my question has nothing to do with my question read it again
Hmmm.... well since you have gotten 88 views, and I'm the only one who bothered to answer. I would think that a bit less attitude is in order. The reason I pointed you towards that thread is because it is for Boost Mobile. Which if I am to understand your OP correctly, what you want to reflash your EVO to again. If you look in the thread someone may have had your issue previously, and posted up.
I will help you, just shoot me a pm. It's pretty simple after you do it a time or 2.

The thread prboy1969 pointed you too has all the tools to get it done. I've used the same thread myself. To answer your direct question, yes you should flash a stock rooted rom to your evo using all the proper wiping procedures like normal..then begin.
what rom do i need to flash or just factory wipe? and if i use titanium back up will it save my contacts?

thanks to captin throwback..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671395 ..contacts should be saved automatically via google..to my knowledge ti backup doesn't save them. To be safe just go into contacts/menu/import-export/export and save em to your sd. Then transfer that to somewhere else for safe keeping.

Pls help. Lots of NOOB questions as I learn about my Android phone.
1) I have done a backup of my phone using ClockWorkMod ver.6.0.3.0, but I am concerned that the generated .tar file does not have anything in it. Is that correct? The phone is new. I have attached an image for whoever to have a look at.
2) I am trying to perform a mdsum5 check. I have read tutorials (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939007) and I have looked at Youtube videos, but I still don't get it. I have downloaded the md5.exe. ClockWorkMod generated a nandroid.md5. Does it contain the number that I am looking for?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

So, I have had to restore my phone, since this posting. I used ClockWorkMod to restore and it worked like a charm. However, I still need help with issue #2. Any ideas?
First off, I have checked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/canadian-guide-complete-source-lg-g4-t3212449
And no, it doesn't help.
Story: I want to recover some deleted pictures and videos from a trip (about a month ago) from my internal memory. I have been quite careful and didn't install much into the internal memory since the trip fearing that it might overwrite my deleted contents.
Help: My phone has not been rooted and it has been updated to Marshmallow... I want to know if there is a way to root my phone (maybe downgrade to the 5.x version?) and recover my lost data (at least some of it) without a phone wipe? Or are there are any existing market software (I can pay) to recover the contents without rooting at all?!
I am a newbie here (both in the forum and with tech in general), so please give me any step-by-step guidance if possible.
Thank you so much for all your help in advance!!
So your phone does not boot now? As far as I know there is no way to downgrade without wiping data. If I am wrong someone please correct me.
In the future I would use a service like Google photos to auto backup your photos to the cloud. Makes life much easier.

Hello All,
after being able to export my contacts to my SD Card on my HTC M8 At&t , I input a password as indicated by HTC, and as time has proven, whenever you follow instructions you`re not sure of what you`re doing, things don`t go our way.
I hadn`t synced all my contacts to my google account yet, so I was counting on all my contacts from the sd card to sync to my htc.
Off course, not noticing what I did, I converted my Att m8 to a Gpe, and I wasn`t able to sync the contacts back.
Anyone able to assist me, on how to convert the .vef contacts, to standard .vcf?
Or has a HTC Sense, and is able to assist me on converting my contact list?
I depend on some of these professional contacts to do my job, so any help would be much appreciated.
:good:
I tried flashing a new rom with sense to try if it would work, but I got close to bricking my phone... Trust me, it took me about an hour to get out of a bootloop!!
Many thanks,
Cheers!

Hello Ged,
Thanks a lot for you input, but I had gone through that thread searching before and unfortunately Google does not recognize the .vef file.
Thanks anyway, but it's still not the solution I need.
Best regards
