Hi,
I've been connecting my ps4 controller to my nexus via Bluetooth. I've been using fpse and epsxe emulators. The controller works fine for about 20 seconds then all of a sudden a huge delay happens. E.g if I press x there's about a 2 or 3 second delay. Is there anyway to fix this?
Android version
KitKat 5.0.2
Thanks!
i think its an issue with nexus not maintaing enough juice to the micro usb otg.
i believe its the root cause of my wireless keyboard timing out

I have a PS2 controller that i connect trough an adapter to convert the PS2 port to USB, then i connect the USB Male to a Hub that i connect to the Female USB connected to my Galaxy Nexus... a little bit confusing...
Is necesary to connect the controller in this way, because if i connect it directly trough the microUSB to USB adapter it doesn't work, i don't know why.
The problem start when i try to play games, because it looks like the system detects the x axis is stuck! I try it with 2 controllers that i use regularly with the PS2.
I tested the controller with Shadowgun and Riptide, and both games are having problems... with Shadowgun the character is stuck in a circular movement that doesn't allow me to play, and Riptide seems to work fine, but when the character jumps just a little, it falls inmediately because he tries to make a stunt.
The problem doesn't stops there, because i'm not able to play Shadowgun until i reboot, because the character continues his circular movement, despite the fact that the controller isn't connected.
For the moment i don't have any games to try, but i know the controller works well, because i used it several times with a Toshiba Thrive without problems.
I'm using AOKP 37 + 3.0.8 - GlaDOS-v1.34.
Any help or suggestion would be very appreciated!

If you have a ps3 controller with cyanogenmod I know you can pair it using sixaxis controller app. But it costs $ on the market. At $60 retail you may be better off picking one up at a gaming store, eBay or Craig's list
Galaxy Nexus, enough said
I know the PS3 controller works, but since i don't have one, and i do have a PS2 controller with all the cables/adapters/connectors, i think it worths the try. Besides, the PS2 controller worked for me with Honeycomb! The only difference between the Toshiba Thrive and the Galaxy Nexus is the full USB port in the Thrive.
Ok, i tried it with GTA 3 and the character is spinning to the left...
I think maybe it could be the Hub, but i tried it with my PC and there's nothing wrong with it.
I was wondering why i need to plug the controller trough a Hub instead of plugging it directly to the Female USB? If i do it that way the controller is not detected at all!
C'mon, nobody have any clue about this issue?!
I'm going to try if it works using a Stock Rom of Ice Cream Sandwich without a custom kernel.
Again, your help is truly appreciated!

Ok, i was trying to get results with other Roms but i got the same results...
I installed the stock ICS 4.0.4 without Rooting nor Recovery, but i got the same results...
How can't anyone have a clue about this issue?!
I realized that when i try to set a button of the PS2 controller in Shadowgun, no matters what button i try to set, the Joystick Axis 3+ button appears.... and actually thats the one stucked...
Please! Any help?
Hey All,
I've contacted OUYA support (and have a dialog going with them) about this, but thought I'd throw a line out here as well.
I've got a bluetooth Microsoft Entertainment Keyboard 7000 as well as a USB Logitech K400 keyboard.
Both work pretty well with the OUYA (though I don't use both simultaneously for obvious reasons).
One thing I've noticed, however, is that no matter what order I pair the OUYA controllers and keyboard (or connect the USB keyboard) in, the keyboard ends up being player 1 after a period of time.
Example:
Pair OUYA controller 1
Pair OUYA controller 2
Connect USB keyboard
After a day or so, and possibly a full power cycle of the device, the keyboard ends up being Player 1.
This doesn't pose an issue for the most part (the OUYA controllers display that they are players 2 and 3), but some games specifically rely on the device that is identified as Player 1 to actually be an OUYA controller in the game, and therefore I have to go through a whole rigamarole of unpairing all controllers / keyboards, disconnecting the USB keyboard, and doing a full shutdown of the device, then powering it back on and waiting for the pairing wizard to pop up so I can re-pair my controllers.
The real question here is, has anyone else experienced this, and if so have you found a viable workaround?
I'd prefer that the keyboard (whether USB or bluetooth) doesn't get detected as a controller period, but simply acts as an auxiliary means of input for fields where I need to type something in, move a mouse, etc.
Thanks!
pitcherj
Yes, I have exactly the same issue with a Logitech K400 as well. Very annoying, I haven't found a workaround yet.
I have an Ouya controller, a PS3 controller and the K400 in that order and after a while the K400 takes over controller position 1.
There needs to be some way of locking controller 1, or at least a way to quickly change controller positions from within the interface without needing to repair everything.
I had the exact same problem, after looking around for several days trying to find a way to get my controllers paired to slot 1&2. Installed the Blue Board app from the OUYA market.
I've been installed it on my phone, got to to to pair, and used it a couple of times. After that I noticed that my controllers properly paired to slot 1 & 2, and if I hook up my keyboard it properly goes into a different slot.
Blasted from my Samsung Galaxy SIII (CM10.1 Masta Mix).
Over here it is the same problem.
I use a Rapoo E2700 Keyboard with touchpad. It is connected via a seperate USB wireless-dongle.
[A little o.t. but i want to tell everybody thant the keyboard is working great! The Touchpad is super smooth and (unlike the Ouya Controller Touchpad) realy good to navigate a mouse cursor]
It would be nice if there was a menue where you could assign wich Device takes wich controller-slot. Working without a keypboard is a little annoying to me.
Same for all my keyboards, i think it might be intentional.
Everytime I plug in my keyboard dongle it causes the system to lock up and i have to restart, but if I boot with the keyboard hooked up its player 1. They need to get this fixed
Edit: It seems that removing my hub and pluging straight into the ouya works... but now I've no way to use xbox controllers...
After reading through this thread, I'm beginning to wonder if it has something to do with using keyboards meant for PC. The reason I say this is I have had my Motorola Bluetooth Keyboard made for the Xoom paired since the day i got it and it never took over any controller port, but 1 full power cycle with my Logitech USB keyboard and it took over 1st controller.
Does anyone else have a android BT keyboard they can try?
Xbox wireless dongle as well as a el'cheapo GE USB keyboard do the exact same thing... very very annoying

I think this is tied to USB taking priority over Bluetooth. Every USB HID I plug in ends up becoming player one.

Are you using a powered USB hub? My non powered USB hub does the same thing.
If a powered hub doesn't do it, it might have something to do with the power draw on that single port.

I think its more just because The USB connects on boot, while the bluetooth controllers and keyboards have to be turned on. Since the USB where already there they get the first spot and the rest get whats there when they connect.

Yea I think I need a powered hub. I left one at my moms house I'll probably go pick up today when I remember. (Wow I never thought that hub that came with Rock Band 1 on Xbox would ever be useful again lol)

This is their solution.

I managed to get this working and I'm really surprised the ds4 works natively via OTG cable (couldnt get wireless working).
1. connect ds4 via otgcable
2. use this if the controller doesn't instantly work
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.homesoft.otgtroubshooter
3. start favorite game or emulator
4. press cast screen under the quick settings
can confirm it works with leos fortune.. enjoy
btw im stock rooted 4.4.4 but i don't think you need root for this...
Isn't the lag huge using this method? Games like sonic or Mario would be near unplayable

Curious about this as well. I would think any Chromcast/Miracast type technology would have too much lag based on controller input to screen lag..
mario kart is playable... this isn't my video but i also tested with leos fortune and its playable too

In one of the latest PS4 firmware updates, it added a pair function to the DS4 controller so you can use the controller with a PS3 too, and I just tried it with my Nexus 7 2013 and it paired instantly through bluetooth WITHOUT having to use any 3rd party app
- When the DS4 is off, press and hold the Share button and the PS Button and it enters pairing mode
- Search for bluetooth devices with your phone/tablet and it came up straight away as Wireless Controller
:highfive:
I've tried to play "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" via Chromecast and a controller...: About 1-1,5 second lag, Quality drops extremely and ther's no Sound....

I love you for this! I got it working on my Nexus 7 2013 using the Android L preview...
No luck on my Samsung Note 3. It just says pairing.. and doesn't do much.
Either way, thank you very much for this info!

It really depends on your network tremendously. My friends miracast has a ton of lag while on my chromecast there is less than a half second lag, sonic was very playable, except for the random moments of lag.

I've got 150Mb/s, shoud be enough for that. Other (more powerful) things work seamlessly over the same network
I'm having an issue with wirelessly pairing my dualshock 4 to my nexus 7 2013. When I enable pairing mode on the controller, the light will blink on it and it'll show up on the tablet. I tap 'pair' on the tablet and it pairs successfully, but the light on the controller continues to blink, then it eventually stops blinking. Again, it states that it's paired on the tablet, but I can't actually use the controller.
Any ideas?
Dear XDA team
I would like to ask you a favor. Can anyone with a xbox series x controller (the usb c version) do a test.on your RM5?
I have face an issue with mine when connected
via usb C and playing on stadia and game pass apps. The controller works fine with some other emulator apps for android and on PC, again, using s cable.
The issue is: when playing 3D games, one of the stick get stuck and the camera rotates for ever (let say in a game as Halo or destiny 2)
When playing and connected via bluetooth, there is no issue. I got to the conclusion that this might be a ROM issue. I am running the latest update (7.15)
I did a test with another control and cables and the issue persist.
Please let me know
Thanks!
I've had a problem, whenever I connect a wireless controller to my s22, it eats inputs when I press the same button over and over. For example, if I mash the A button, only some of the inputs register and if I mash it as fast as I can, it doesn't register at all making games where I have to press the same button in succession almost unplayable. There also tends to be input lag.
I've tried with to Xbox controllers and an 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ and it happened to all three.
Is there a way to fix this????
I just got a samsung s22 ultra and haven't attempted to connect a gaming controller to it yet, but was curious about the issue you are having. Since I have thought about getting a half keyboard and mouse to hook up to it and play games as well..
A bit of digging and looking and I found this article that explains what issue you might be having and a possible fix for it too.
[Update: Fixed in Android 12] Many Android 11 users are having trouble getting games to recognize their controllers
Some smartphones running Android 11 are unable to connect to gaming controllers due to a bug. This issue has been fixed in Android 12.
