I suffer from terrible battery charge anxiety. I always carry a second battery and have another cooking in the charger. Are the LG G3 and G4 batteries interchargeable? Any recommendations on purchasing additional batteries and a charger for the G4?
I've read elsewhere they are not interchangeable. I have not seen any replacement compatible batteries available yet in the UK but given it was only released here last week that doesn't surprise me.
The G3 batteries have little feet at the bottom of the battery that make them incompatible with the G4 unfortunately.
Hello. I came across the same situation actually. My brother had a LG G3 and ordered a spare battery. Then he sent his phone in for a refund, and got a new one. I noticed the dimensions of G3 and G4 batteries are identical, however the G3 batteries do have these 2 jutting-out parts at the bottom. So I sandpapered them till they were flat, and it fit perfectly into the G4....

I have both g3 and g4 and g4 battery fits in my g3 perfectly no mods
I have read everywhere that the positions of the voltage are reversed between G3 and G4 so be carefull !

I dont know I use my old g4 batt in my g3 and it seems to work ok other than the batt being really old and crap
But my g3 is hardbricked and have not un bricked it yet so I cant confirm it works when os is booted but when I press power is flashes red and blue so its accepting the batt at least

Unrootable, no microSD card slot, no 3.5mm audio jack, unremovable battery, stupidly small bezels - just to name a few anti-features that the Android scene has encountered in recent times, and to be honest, I've been avoiding the recent bunch of Android "flagships" as of late due to this farce.

No old menu, just 3-4 homescreens is the most terrifying for me and the new phones i saw have no menu, where you can arrange apps and folders, they dont even have a menu button. For some reason this is freaking me out. ? They were mostly Xiaomi, Samsung, and Huawei btw.

Hello all,
just a quick question as I'm new to this phone and have a few starting questions(I'm coming from HTC one so this is all new), I have read and read threads about build numbers but I'm not finding mine. I have the d855 variant with a build #JDQ39B and it has 4.4.2 but it is horrible. it's missing alot of features:
edit options oe Q-Slide within the quick settings
Dual screen
multi copy and paste
and many other factory features.
Also the battery life is horrendous( recharge it 3 times per day).
What I'm looking to do is either change the kdz firmware file to another region( preferably canada if possible) or root, install twrp and install a ROM such as Cloudy G3 2.1( again if possible).
But because of this starting issue of this phantom build # I don't know where to begin. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Also, apparently this device isn't compatible will stumproot. which sucks but I'll try towelroot as well.
update, towelroot will only give me a text file no apk. again, that sucks.

Sorry
I was hoping this wasn't the case. I can't believe I shelled out $380 for this.

Remember, if its too good to be true it probably is
LG G3 is still roughly mid $450s (if your lucky) to $500 something in most stores
Noone would sell one for $380 unless its a LG G3 Beat or if its a second hand phone
Its fake who'd you get it from?
Just never seen any fakes yet? theres the Kings something but that doesn't even hold the same shape. I've stripped this thing down to the motherboard and it all jives. Amazing work they did. I'm gonna try a oem battery and see if it helps longevity?

Just a local site, kijiji. like a craigslist.
First one I received during the pre order did not read SD Cards... after some inspection I saw that there was some damage to the SD Card slot.
I filed a claim with T Mobile and received a new device. This new one was able to read SD Cards, however in a side-by-side test with the original phone, the screen quality was absolutely horrible. Yellow tint on everything, most noticeably on the settings screen. 100% brightness looked more like 70. Holding both phones in hand, there is also a definite weight difference between the 2... the original with bad SD slot undoubtedly weighs more than the 2nd phone I received. Its not a mental thing, I've had 5 people blindly hold both and each one says the same thing.
WTF LG?? I'll make one more exchange before I move on the the S6
Had mine for over a week now with no issues (H815 EU).

Its possible, but 0 for 2 isnt a very good rate... Luckily the G4 is pretty easy to disassemble (an advantage, i guess?) so I swapped logic boards and now have what I consider a complete unit.

Hey everyone.
I wanna buy my wife a phone under 400$. At 370$ i have the g4. At 280$ i have the g3. All the Samsung phones are pricier and provide low level hardware at the same price.
I thought i buy the g3 as it is very cheap but satisfying phone...
But i am wondering if the g4 today doesn't have the bootloop issue...
If I'll buy the g4 today, i won't suffer from this issue?
Thanks.
Why would it have bootloop if you didnt do anything with bootloader and adb and root?

Its not just the manufacturing date but also serial number that starts with 505,6 etc ... Bootloop is one of major issue in g4 ... There is also a screen burn issue it happens when the phone gets to hot also a hardware issue... The lcd needs to be replaced there is a line on the screen thats shows ... Such a shame for such a good phone with so many faults
But its LG fault.... Samsung and etc are better....

Shiiit my phone has burning screen
False info
I got mine in december 2015 and since then I'm on stock. So far no bootloop either burned screen. Stop believing crappy info. Had also the g3 but they cannot be compared, g4 is miles in front of the g3, plus in not cracking prone.
Im planning to buy this smartphone by the end of January 2017, its the European version I think (Spain)... But Im afraid it would still bootloop as older G4 devices manufactured in previous months, so...
This problem has been fixed in newer devices?
I was thinking in buying the G5 but the price I have found for this smartphone is quite interesting.

How many times is this gonna be asked? No one can tell you if it is fixed with "newer" G4 devices. Anyone who owns this device should have a backup device because you can't trust any G4... and even if its fixed, I still do not recommend this phone. It has many other problems which is in my opinion not worth to deal with. I regret buying this phone.

If you really want to go with LG, buy the G5, that phone isn't flawless but much more reliable than a ''newer" LG G4.

Well simply no one can tell you for sure, there are some reports of newer versions boot-looping, but that are only a few but still some..

Yes I know, I never said that there aren't G5's with bootloop problems but with that device it is way less common.
And that why I think he should better go for the G5 if he really wants a LG phone.
It's a worry though - if they can bring out a new gen device that still has the flaws it took them a 35000 strong petition to even acknowledge... not a trustworthy company.
I'm sorry to hear ppls had problems with their G4 phones .
What I can say , speaking from a developer perspective , LG g4 is great , at least the one I have , I have a h815 European Unlocked , serial number starts with 6xx.
I just can tell you that i stressed this phone like no other phone before .
I always think how this little piece can take so much stress.
I'm a rom developer and I can say I i flashed and reflashed over 10 -15 times per day different roms.
I build Maru OS for this phone and I runned Debian inside it ,with a lot of app oopened and a lot of multimedia tasks , and tested a lot how apps works on it , even games.
I used it like a pc , using debian and I can tell you I stressed it a loooot .
What I can say is that is a good harware , I do not try to convice anyone to buy one and I do not want ppls to spend money on something that can easly brick . But told you , I was impressed how mine resists to stress. No problems in 4 months.
Have a great day all !

Also in Canada, can't find any OEM batteries that ship either. G4 battery life tanked over last few months, getting like 3 hours on a charge.

Had some guy tell my phone is a clone once comparing it to his Canadian G4. I said good one lol
My bootloader is unlocked. I am rooted using DirtyUnicorns
Certain roms don't work on my phone though even if they are h811.... It simply doesn't like them
I just took apart my phone and took a chip off and on to get it back to working after flashing a bad ROM/kernel as well. It would not fix the problem going back to stock
I'm out of warranty. No bootloop here though. Although unless something new comes along worthwhile that is stable
I don't plan on taking it apart again to troubleshoot for hours because of a sloppy developer
