Hi,
I tried to disable the my tmobile app, but unlike other apps, this app does not give you the option to disable it.
Any ideas?
Thanks
didn't give me the option on the m9 either
I can't delete it either. It pisses on my OCD.

Yeah that is pissing me off BC it always shows up as using a lot of battery. I was able to disable it on my S6, not sure why they prevent that on the G4.
You can disable the notification though, maybe that might help with the battery since it doesn't have to refresh all the time?
Have to wait for root. Sucks cause it dtains the **** out of the battery.
turn off all the settings in the app itself if you have not done so already.

Recently on a few roms I've seen my phone wake itself. Not entirely sure how.. And not to mention, it does this when I'm sleeping. So basically my phone will die within hours as my phone stays on and the screen burns in
Unfortunately I have a 30 second time out and it does not shut off my screen. It stays on entirely.
I need help to fix this issue, I have not recently installed anything I normally don't install things and haven't flashed any kernel or mod that should affect it. I did flash a Beats mod by rocko but I highly doubt that is causing the issue.

It sounds like some app is waking it up and then holding a wake lock. You will have to experiment and uninstall apps to see which app is doing it. Do you remember installing a certain app right before it starts doing it. More than likley it will be one of the apps on the running menu under manage applicarions.

Exactly this, apparently Doubletwist was the culprit. Shame too.. its never done that to me before, I like using my phone as a media server to use on my xbox/surround sound system
Thanks though, appreciate it.

I use better battery stats to find wakelocks. Sounds like yours was any easy find but some can be really sneaky.
I know Songbird has a ton of addons, maybe give it a look and see if it can do what doubletwist does.
In a related note....my screen timeout wouldn't work one day. No matter what I set it to, the phone would never timeout/display-off automatically. I just ran 'Fix Permissions' and issue fixed itself.
I'll have to try it, songbird is sick. I am in love with that audio player.

Precisely, in my case it was skype keeping my phone awake.

You probably have an issue with Screen Wakelock(a.k.a FULL_WAKE_LOCK) , which is used by third-party apps to control the screen.
There is an app which is specially developed for solving "wakelock" issues, It is called "Wakelock detector" freely available at GooglePlay.
Or you can just type "Wakelock" at GooglePlay
Here is XDA thread; Xda Wakelock detector
Perhaps this can help as well.

Wow. Digging up an old post and the op has switched phones.
This information could still be useful to someone.

When I receive a SMS, the phone wakes up.
Having a hard time finding the setting to turn it off...any insight?
bump for this - I don't see why the screen needs to come on every time a sms message comes in. I haven't seen this happen with email(exchange), gmail, GTalk, etc... so annoying to waste battery for no reason with the LED indicator enabled.
I've looked and looked and don't really see anyone complaining about this, which I find really strange.

bump - seriously no one cares about this wasting battery for no reason?
No one has found an answer? Just got the AT&T version and I do about 20,000 texts a month, so this is very annoying and wastes battery, ESPECIALLY since it has a notification LED.
I got so tired of it, that I just switched over to handcent.

Just called Samsung and he searched and put me on hold for a while and came back saying there is no way to change this. He recommended downloading a 3rd party texting app or seeing if there is an app that will do this :/
here is a fix from the Sprint GS3

Just tried to flash, didn't see any changes in the Messages settings. Not the screen toggle or mms server issue

It was annoying me as well, the only fix I found without switching to another app is to go to Settings in the messaging app and make sure everything is unchecked under Notifications. If you do this, you will no longer see new text messages in the notification bar, but if you want you can use Nova launcher premium that has an add on called Tesla unread plug in (it adds a number to a messaging shortcut when new sms arrives).
Hope this helps.
So my Location Service keeps turning off after the phone sits idle for a while. I turned off connection optimizer and I still have this problem. Is there some setting somewhere doing this? Anyone else having this issue. My wife's note 4 doesn't do it.

It should turn off if nothing is needing it. Then turn on when an app request your location. It is now supposed to be an on demand function to save on the battery.
Problem is sometimes it doesn't turn back on and I get an annoying nagging pop-up when accessing something that needs it.

My wife's Note 4 has this issue. I doubt there's anything simple that can fix it since anything that forces the GPS to stay on (against the wishes of the phone) will surely drain the phone to death.
HOWEVER, has anyone noticed if the update to Lollipop helped fix this issue? Did they make the location setting idle and restart properly?
I had this problem (fully stock) post-lollipop as well. I spent a couple of weeks messing with it and never found the root cause or a fix.
A full wipe/factory restore fixed it for me.
Good luck.

Not incredibly important, but annoying nonetheless. I turned off a few apps I never use and rebooted, since then my Facebook app will open, then close within a minute, sometimes immediately. Facebook DID have an update shortly before I did all this, but is it possible to have caused this with disabling unrelated apps? Probably pure coincidence, I know, but I'm posting screens of what I disabled, in case someone had any idea.

Me too! Lol. I haven't uninstalled anything recently so it's got to be the app.
And ya, funny how we both mentioned it not being important. Lol.
I neeeeeed to check how many likes my status update got OMG!
Is anyone aware of a way to disable the knock-on feature of the G4? I was able to disable it in my G3 by using the service menu, but I have been unable to find the correct code to enter the G4 service menu.
I would also like to know as I feel disabling the feature might save the phone battery...
Anyone?
I am looking for this as well, i dont want it turning on in my pocket. On the lg g3 it was 3845#*850# for att. option was in the hidden service menu
Edit; I used the quick shortcut maker app (any cut force closes) and searched for knock. Checked it off. Worked.
