It started a few days ago or yesterday, certain notification apps like gmail, and lets say, Skype are not responsive. I have to open Skype app to actually receive messages or missed calls. Gmail mails received a moment ago only show up when I turn the screen on. I don't have deep sleep saver or anything like that installed right now cuz I deleted it. What happened in the past few days =_=

I am disabled and stream my church's live services. Inevitably though, I get notifications that stop the stream. I can't turn off wifi and still get the stream though. Is there some way to manually turn off all notifications or maybe an app that will halt all notifications on a set schedule or while video is streaming? Ultimately, something that could halt notifications if Netflix or Hulu is running or during scheduled hours would be the best situation.
You shouldn't lose wifi when turning off notifications in the task bar. I have mine off all the time. The notifications still appear when i go to the taskbar, but they don't pop up and interrupt what I'm doing.

I'm an idiot! LOL Not used to the differences in settings and never noticed that option before. Is there anything that will automatically turn it on or off based on time or running app?
Not that I'm aware of. And no worries, it happens. Lol.

I've noticed that when I set notifications to off, I am still getting popup alerts from apps like Friendcaster Pro that halt video playback. Looks like the solution won't be that easy after all.
Hi.
I don't have any problems like wifi dropping while browsing at my home, college or gf's house.
But when i turn off the screen after a while (can be 5 minutes or 30 minutes) my downloads stop (big games from the store, torrents, etc). They resume after i turn on the screen.
Also messages received from email and messengers are unpredictable. For example, while writing this post, i received a notification from hangouts on my N7 5 minutes after i received on my S3. Other times i only get the notification if i turn on the screen.
The battery status and wifi analyzer show me wifi was always on.
On wifi settings, keep wifi on during sleep option is always on, like i want.
This happens on 3 different locations with 3 different isp's.
This doesn't happen with my other 2 android devices.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Let us know if you figure it out.

Did you read my post?
That option is always on like I wrote and highlighted in bold.
It seems that for a few minutes it ignores the option to keep wifi on. Any ideas?
Sounds like the N4 issue to me. Try one of the tips from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2072930
im having a BIG problem with my phone

Hi,
I need some help, please.
I have Cyanogen 13 installed on my phone, nightly 20160729, but for some time now, I'm not getting my Whatsapp messages when screen is off. They come all at once when I unlock my phone.
I have background data enabled, battery optimization disabled for Whatsapp, all notifications are enabled in the app settings and in the phone settings, I have Whatsapp whitelisted in Task manager, my WIFI is on when screen is on, when screen is off, mobile data is active ( no changes detected when only WIFI is on or only mobile data is on).
Can't figure out what's the problem, Viber works fine on the same phone and with the same settings.
Also, I've noticed that when I turn the screen off, messages do get through for about a minute or so after turning it off and then nothing.
Could it be some setting related to the phone sleep mode?
Any help would be appreciated, thanx

Hi, tried that, no effect.
I'm testing settings for all apps that control background processes and will see if there's any progress.
Thanx for your reply.
Seems that something in Hibernation manager is at fault. Looks like some process is getting killed that affects WhatsApp. Don't know which one is it, but for now, messages are coming through.

So, messages not coming through again. Uninstalled Hibernation manager, seems to me that when phone goes to deep sleep, Whatsapp messages stop coming. Any suggestions?
These are the processes I have set to autokill, can anybody tell me if any of them should be active for Whatsapp to work?
This is solved, apparently, WhatsApp needs Google play and services to work while Viber works fine with them disabled.
Has anyone else noticed this? I've noticed it with the Gmail and Youtube apps specifically but it could be happening on other things and I've just not noticed. If I have emails and delete read them on my desktop then the notification doesn't clear on my phone and notifications for YouTube subscriptions appear when I unlock my phone. I don't think it's happening 100% of the time, I have watched email notifications clearing when I clear the emails on my desktop but it's happening enough for me to notice and make this thread. Power mode is on high performance, pretty sure it's all set the same as my Note 9 was, so is this another niggle that an update is going to sort?
Battery optimization settings?
That was my initial thought but it's configured the same as my Note 9 was and I didn't have any issues with that.
Something not quite right here. I woke up to no notifications for Gmail so I've disabled adaptive battery for it and it's still hit and miss with notifications.
No one else at all getting these issues?

Mine was doing something similar and the battery optimisation setting was turned off so I delved into gmail settings and found that all of the labels that I need notifications for had been set to No Notification [emoji15][emoji848] so I turned the notifications back on for the labels and it works just fine now [emoji6]

Yes, I do experience the same issues. I've checked the notification settings and battery optimizing settings multiple times. It is exactly the same as my Note 8. My Note 8 displays the notifications directly while my Note 10 doesn't.
At least it looks like it's a Note 10 issue then.
Yes I seem to be experiencing the same issue. Thought it was odd I didn't have any gmail notifications and went into the app and all the emails came in.
I can feel my sanity returning. I even did a full wipe yesterday and set it up fresh instead of the smart switch I did originally and it's still doing it.
I swear it's getting worse which makes absolutely no sense at all. Before it just occasional times but now I'm having to go into the app every time to find emails.
Talking to myself now but...
I had the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 arrive today, they're sat on my desk side by side, the Tab is getting Gmail alerts and my Note 10+ isn't.
Have y'all looked at Don"t kill my app - Samsung?
I tried turning battery optimisation off for it and it didn't seem to make a difference.
Same issue here with Gmail notifications. Checked all the options. It was working before the security update though I'm not sure if there's correlation.
Same here with Gmail.
Same issue.
I don't get push notifications with gmail app as well.
Seems like the culprit is the Note 10 in this situation.
However try another email app and see if the problem exists.
Randomly started working yesterday perfectly and then stopped again.
Same issue. No Gmail notifications. App only refreshes when I open it.
Same issue. Turning off battery optimization does not help. Only seems to be happening with gmail for some reason.
