My MMS will not work no matter what APN settings I use. Background; I have an ATT g3 running unlocked on T-Mobile, everything is working fine save for MMS. I tried a number of different stock based roms including the port of the int. D855 version all with the same result, Data works fine but no mms. So just for kicks I flashed AOSP to the phone and behold, MMS functioned properly. So what would make MMS work on AOSP but not on stock based roms. I used the same APN setting for both systems. Any ideas.
Oh and also ive tried stock roms rooted and not with and without custom recoveries and no xposed so I dont think its a software conflict.

I have been going back on forth between 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. The latest 4.2.2 ROMS that I flashed were Hellybean and ParanoidAndriod. It seems that with those two ROMS, my MMS stopped working (it kept saying SENDING). I am flashing JellyBeast Odexed now to see if I can get MMS working again. Have anyone experienced MMS problem with 4.2.2 ROMS? I would like to go to 4.2.2 but if I can't get MMS working, I have to go back to 4.1.2
TIA
i been on 4.2 ROM since they came out ive never encountered any of those problems do you have the latest radio MC6 and also have you tried sending MMS through a 3rd party sender like chomp sms or go messenger anything other than stock ?>
I have MC6 radio. The thing that I noticed different now is that I have the DC on the signal bar. I haven't tried to go 3rd party sender, I'll do that after I check on the Jellybeast MMS.
yeah DC is only telling you that your phone is capable of the highest data in your area (dual carrier) your phone has the best connection when you see that good luck
Are you dirty flashing?

I always clean flashed. I used either the TDK script or the Infamous script. I went back to 4.1.2 and mms work fine. I guess i'll stick to 4.1.2 for a while.
Anyone else having problems sending or receiving with MMS on the nightly builds for CM 12.1? My SMS works just fine.
I have Ting, which may be part of my problem. I am using the same APN settings that use to work for MMS in CyanogenMod 11.
Yep. I've been fighting this for 3 days now. I must have tried every CM 12.1 variant out there with the same result. The APN list shows Ting... but you cannot select it, modify it, or save it. Reset to Default APN doesn't work... Rebooting 18 times doesn't work... flashing the various APN "fixes" like for FreedomPop, MVNO_CDMA, etc doesn't work. But like you... SMS, Phone, and Data (on WiFi) work fine. However, MMS and data (on 3G/4G) don't work.
What has worked... backing off to either a Stock ROM or CM 11. So something in these recent CM 12.1 builds is just broken. The only reason I was trying to upgrade from CM 11 to CM 12.1 was because of that StageFright vulnerability. So I may just go with the Stock ROM until I see the CM 12.1 APN issue for Ting has been resolved.
I've been using the clear google messaging app from the TBO updater app and just installed their latest hangouts to try. They both have been handling mms better than any other messaging apps and sometimes the stock mms will work by just having the gmessenger app installed. I've been rom hopping lately and it seems pretty much the same for me across most CM12.1 based ROMs. Also, you could try editing the actual apns-conf.xml file under /system/etc/ back it up first tho and for permissions 644. from my Virgin Mobile Tri-Band model S3

You should be able to modify Ting by touching the name, even when the button for selecting it is absent. You may need to add "default" to the type once you have it open. I have Ting and I have had to deal with this somewhat as well. I believe I saw some recent Ting APN updates get pushed through as well. Have you tried Exodus?
There is also another thread in here about lollipop and 5.1 which has information that may help.

Exodus? Nope... but I'll be checking it out now!
If you don't mind me asking more about the APN. How many are actually needed in there? If I were to delete all the APNs and just manually setup the 1 needed... is it just the LTE version pointing to http://mms.plspictures.com ... or ... http://mms.sprintpcs.com and making sure the "type" has "default" in it? It's the one thing that I can't understand. Out of every forum I've read... not 1 mentions just blowing all the APNs away and just simply adding a single APN for Ting. I don't think I really need all 8-16 APNs (depending on the ROM you flash).
And this question is open to anyone. Is there any reason you have to have all those APNs for other networks like Boost, FreedomPop, Boost Mobile, etc? What should the APN contents be for just Ting? Inquiring minds want to know.

I actually tried that myself but didn't have any luck with it sticking past reboot or even holding the data signal right. It's possible it might work. I don't know enough about APN's to say for sure. Did you try adding "default" to the beginning of the Ting APN type and then save it?
I have installed Fulmics 4.0 and everything works wonderfully, except data.
I have entered the correct APN settings for AT&T but nothing has gotten data to connect. I had the same problem running fulmics 2.7, but i went on to install flyme OS and data worked there. It also worked on stock with correct APN settings.
I have the LG G3 D851 32gb carrier unlocked and on AT&T (Im currently stuck with AT&T, just upgraded from my G2 as this device was given to me)
I can do any type of edit or anything as I am familiar with rooting android and this isn't my first rodeo.
I have calling and texting working, just no data. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.
Id love to get a reply. I have to do some traveling starting tomorrow and i would prefer not to have to swap roms. I love fulmics. Anyone with anyhelp is greatly appreciated
Hey, I noticed recently that my data has stopped working all together for custom roms on my LG G3 D852 (fido network). I thought it may have been a hardware issue so I reverted back to stock and everything worked. I tried different modem versions yet that didnt seem to work either. My APN settings are the exact same for both stock and the custom roms I have tried (Fullmics 4.1 ,4.2, CM13 various nightlies, and CM 12.1.) All these roms were clean flashed with TWRP 3.0 . Selecting a network provider out of the list turns off service all together unless i choose (select automatically).
Does anyone know what the issue could possibly be? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank-you
Anybody else having issues with rooted phones and Wifi MMS(picture/group) on T-Mobile? I cant seem to send or receive MMS messages while I'm rooted. SMS works though.
Now when I flash back to complete stock and locked bootloader, I have no issues what so ever.
I'm compared stock T-Mobile APN with the rooted ones on Lineage, Benzo, and Pixeldust. I've even added my own custom APN mirroring the stock APN, still no go.
The last time I remember this working on a rooted rom, was back on like 7.1 when the one guy that made an awesome pixel rom, just stopped updating...I forget who it was.
You're using Magisk for root right
