Just got the tmobile LG G3. I had the HTC one m9 for a week. G3 has 0 bars at home. M9 has 1 or 2 bars but still wouldn't connect or work really. Why g3 so bad? Radio crappy?
Why would I want to root? Could I safely get rid of apps I won't use? So they won't run ever? Disabling apps has caused issues maybe. Like google newsstand and etc.
How can I get the themes option I have seen in videos? In app update app there's no smart world.
Can I root using only my phone?
When playing video sometimes I'll change sound yet only the phone icon sound slider opens and sound does not change. Sound in music and movies settings screen was up all the way almost yet video has quiet sound. Not video cuz if I restart phone it seems normal.
Can I get the beam live wallpaper that is In the m9 and gs5?
Why are there no live wallpaper on the g3?
Anyone please.
Anyone please?
Hello out there?
Man guys.
One thing to is videos when downloaded have 2 listings icons in the notify menu sometimes. That is stupid. Thinking to return my g3.

hey guys, currently running 1.29 on my unbranded HOX.
Noticed earlier while listening to my music through the stock music player that the songs kept semi skipping for a couple of seconds and the music sounded very, how to put it, crackly and popping, has anyone else had this problem?

It's been posted a few times I believe its to do with beats.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Yeah I have read about beats but I thought the problem being discussed was full songs skipping, also thought 1.28 was supposed to have fixed it, hopefully HTC can sort it out! I'm no audiophile but its damn annoying.
I have it to. First i thought that is was my headset now i read its the phone on 1.26 i never had probs

i had this too. the 1.29 update seems to finally have fixed it.
that or that i am now using ubermusic with beats enabled
Hello. 1st time posting, new Android user.
I have the very same problem and it seems to be getting worse. It's definitely to do with the phone adjusting network, as when it's in airplane mode it doesn't happen at all. As I travel on a train that goes along a coast line, in and out of tunnels - this is really getting to be annoying.
I'm using both DoubleTwist and the stock music player, happens with both EQ/Beats on or off.
I don't really want to buy another music player

But if ubermusic really solves the problem then I might look into it.
Also happens when watching vidoes inc. streaming video.
This really is a bit of a joke - "Authentic Sound" they said. So far it's about as authentic as an old walkman. I'm smitten with the phone in general, but this is unacceptable.
Maybe there's another fix. Perhaps a 3rd party app conflict? Any ideas?
1.29.401.11
I have this probelm as well, I thought it was my bluetooth headphones until I connected my wired headphones and the problem was still there - Poweramp is better than the stock player. Will try ubermusic tonight and see if that helps. The Galaxy nexus had this problem but was sorted with an update - hopefully HTC will do so too - quickly.
I am on 1.29...11 by the way.

remember android has a 15 minute period in which you can get a refund for an app - if it doesn't work open the play store for ubermusic and the buy button should have changed to a refund button.
(ubermusic is also skinnable, i didn't like the default but the ics style one is nice)

beats won't be "authentic sound" - music with no EQ applied will be the most authentic. but i get the point!

Exactly, it seems to be not just the network coverage, but any notification coming while the music is on.
Happens to me while traveling by subway, the network coverage is only in stations, not between them, and the music starts skipping right away after leaving/before getting to the stations. Also if the network coverage is OK (outside) but you get a notification from calendar, music crackle the same way.
Contacted HTC support and they replied to me to get a replacement device from my reseller...
Bit of an update on this one.
I checked what apps were running in the background - to see if there was anything I could kill to see if it made a difference.
I noticed the widget for SeriesGuide was running, despite my not using the widget or the app for a long time (I had rebooted the phone on occasions since not using the app).
So I uninstalled that application, cleared all cache using ES Task Manager and shut down the phone (not reboot). I heard that a restart could just solve the issue anyway.
Hey presto, no cracking audio or video so far - (that's 3 1hour train journeys).
I'm not entirely 'blaming' SeriesGuide, it may have been anything - but it's worth checking whats using resources that isn't running - I'm sure many of you do this anyway.
One interesting thing is, I was browsing the net or something last night on the couch, just using the phone - when I noticed it started to make pretty audible pops for no reason - about 5, and then nothing. No problem on the train this morning though - so for now I'm happy.
Install poweramp and problem disappear
Inviato dal mio HTC One X
I tried Poweramp - despite not liking it, it didn't solve my problem.
Service repair
Sent my HTC One X to service repair for diagnostics and the final statement is - faulty motherboard. Anyone having issues with crackling music player either when the network signal is lost or when the notifications pop up, go and return your phone.
Well, since my last post explaining what I did to remove the crackle, I've had none at all.
Hey guys,
Just got my M8 last week and I love it, but there's one thing so far that has been bugging me. When either playing or streaming music via BT in the car or via headphones at the gym/home, I've noticed that my notification sounds will not come through. Every other android phone (or iphone) that I've owned that I can remember has always attenuated the music for a second to play the notification sound. So far, I have not been able to figure out how to get my M8 to do this. It doesn't even vibrate to let me know I have a text/email/whatever... at best, I'll look down at the phone and the notification light will be blinking.
So, can anyone point me in the right direction to get this feature working again?
Also, FYI - I'm on the stock, rooted ROM with Xposed installed and s-off

I actually like it like , I noticed it right away. I did look around all the phones settings even in the dev section and didn't see any settings to change the behavior.
Mine kinda does the same thing.
It just cuts the music for a second but i believe its because i use PowerAmp.
i'm still aware of getting a notification, just through slience.lol

Hello everyone, I am having Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 64 GB version and having basically 3 major problems..
1. Phone is getting very hot almost like iron during charging on top right beside camera.
2. While playing video, as long as I keep touching the screen and optiom menu remains on screen video player shows natural colors but as soon as the option menu goes the video shows a bluish tint while playing video. What is it?
3. While playing audio thru earphones, audio is interrupting everytime I am using any function of phone. Its like old CD players when the voice used to face hiccups. Its so annoying.
Kindly share your experience in this regard. DO I need to return the product or its normal software bug?

Firmware ?
Installed apps ?
How many apps running in background / Sync ?
Saving Mode ?
I'm on my third LG G8 that I got here in Dallas from T-Mobile. All three phones have been acting the same way. I've even talked to LG Technical Support and they're clueless.
Music stops playing on the phone randomly. Videos on the preinstalled YouTube app play in slow motion with no sound.
I've rebooted the phone and sometimes the problem goes away and sometimes no. LG tech support told me how to put the phone in safe mode and using the built in music app, music plays. I can then switch back to regular mode and music plays again until it doesn't. On the first LG G8 I had, I reset it back to factory defaults to clear out the problem but it came back again. And then I reset it again without loading any of my apps but the issue returned. I showed the problem to T-Mobile store reps and they agreed with me that the phone was malfunctioning. I had to mail my phone in to T-Mobile because of the way I purchased it. I got an exchange. They let me buy a temporary LG G8 in that store until I got a replacement. That LG G8 also quit playing music randomly just like the first phone. I returned that phone after my replacement LG G8 showed up but this one is behaving the same way. LG wants me to send the phone in for repair. I'm reluctant.
Usually the problem starts after the phone has been connected to a Bluetooth device; headset or my car stereo. After disconnecting the device, the problem doesn't go away. Other phone "noises" won't come back either. I can avoid the problem in my car by connecting it to my stereo's USB cable and Android Auto kicks in. But even after disconnecting, the problem is still present.
Hopefully it's an isolated incident and doesn't affect all phones as I've just purchased an US T-Mobile version.
Did you try using 3rd party apps to see if the issue persists? Maybe it's just the stock Music player app that is glitched out.

I've thought about that. I like to play Hill Climb 2 {Stunticons team} and sometimes the game will give you a freebe by watching a video ad. And I've noticed when my sound is screwed up, the video ad plays in super slow motion just like videos in Youtube and there's no sound.

I have wondered if my phone is coming from a bad batch from my local T-Mobile warehouse. I've owned the LG G6 and G7 and I had no major issues like what I'm dealing with now. Today was a good day and the sound gave me no trouble.
I'm really sorry this is happening to you, LG should do more to help. It seems isolated, my Tmo G8 works as expected, aside from what I believe are Pie related frame rate issues.
Does it happen only with streaming, or also with locally saved files? Are you always using Bluetooth for the sound? Not that I can help fix it, just very curious what's causing it.
I do notice that when my phone connects to my car stereo's Bluetooth that's when my trouble begins but it doesn't go away after disconnecting. I noticed today it happened when one of my hi-res songs started to play.
This is really interesting as I am about to return mine to LG. My phone will lose it's ability to use the hearing "speaker" against my ear..and get this...it happens only after I have connected to my car bluetooth. I factory reset, all is well, and the first time I use my car bluetooth it happens again and it stays. I have a phone that I cannot use without either speakerphone or a bluetooth device in order to hear whom I am talking to. I like this phone and want it to work out, but......I hope LG makes good on the warranty! BTW, I have T-Mobile and bought the phone outright from Amazon separately.
On my T-Mobile (unlocked and using a different provider) G8, I have issues with both the native music app and Amazon unlimited online streaming. Both will randomly play the first song again from the beginning of a shuffled list. Happens randomly and repeatedly. Most often after like 4-7 songs in the player will start from beginning, and it happens with both Bluetooth and headphones. Any ideas? Running 9 with October 2019 security update.
