This is not meant to cause offence to anyone especially the devs that do an incredible job
This is just my opinion but paranoid android was easily the most polished well put together custom ROMs there was
Is there any that are of similar quality in terms of integration and looking like it was meant to be there all along using lollipop?
Paranoid had it nailed with all there custom tweaks they coded themselves
I'd live to see something similar and will try most
Anyone got any recommendations?
Cheers

So you didn't run the stock rom at all?
Dragonstorm is a huge improvement and much more in line with what you'd expect from a new win mobile. LG's interface appealed to a few, but most were not fans. The stock rom was also an older build (with the start menu at the top).
If you visit lg-expo.com you can find a couple of sense based roms if that's more what you were looking for, but that's more htc-ish obviously and a few things aren't working quite right yet.
I think the quality of Dark's work is a large factor in the lack of other roms. It's got everything you need and you've got room to add whatever you want.
I also think theres a decent number of people are cooking "privately". I have reasons for not sharing any of my builds so far (time, apps I cooked, etc), but fear not, I do intend to eventually. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing your builds.
I too would like to see more choices in the expo rom section; But I do quite like darks rom.
But see what I don't understand is what is different? I never ran the stock rom but this dragon rom seriously feels stock to me. I mean the hd2 stock rom was better then this. I'm NOT saying it's a poor quality rom and I do want to be clear that this rom does work well. But I'm used to having loads of style and setup options and customized themes out the wazoo. So I seriously look forward to some sweet Roms in the future.
Dark's ROMs are built to improve speed, memory, GPS, etc. He lays out a great foundation for you to add apps. If you add to much in your ROM, it will gobble up all the phone mempry. These ROM are fast and free up phone memory. The stock ROM were bogged down by useless apps. If your looking for a more flashy ROM there is a touchflow ROM at lg-expo.com

More stuff in rom does NOT equal more ram used up. more services and more stuff running equals more ram used. Just make sure to keep that clear yes ATT bloat does use up more ram but its not the fact that it uses more rom space its that it runs more programs.

You're trying to compare a HTC device's ROM to an LG device's ROM. Obviously they are going to be different. You can't really compare the two, stock or otherwise especially when the stock HD2 comes with Sense and the eXpo stock has the LG Idles instead.
Like posted before, there is a Sense build posted over at lg-expo.com that has actually been downgraded back from 2.5 to 2.1. Sense was never designed to run on this device so it's pretty awesome that thekingvrock got it working cooked into a ROM. Personally I'm waiting for an Android build, but the Sense ROM is pretty nice.
You also have to keep in mind that the device itself is still relatively new since not many people were able to get it at launch with all of the delays. Plus not everyone that was able to get a device earlier on were devs or anyone that could even make a full rom. HTC devices have been out for years and the architecture is similar enough to have plenty of ROM options shortly after launch. It's going to take some time for more roms to come out for the eXpo, but it has the potential to be a pretty damn good device.
Well I'd love android on this [email protected] phone. I'm always looking here and on lg-expo.com
Is there rom better than miui_au. Have a htc desire I thought that the was a smooth system. I have seen great improvement in the performance. The screen customization and options endless.it looks stunning and feels correct. What other roms match this. It seems to be a good mix of the best features of android and the OS.
You mean Android and the rom right? Anyway, there isn't really any other great customisation roms out there like MIUI-Au, well there is but it is a bit more difficult sort of. CyanogenMod and Oxygen seem to be the most favourite that I have seen around the forum but other roms are great. The only way your going to be able to find out is by trying them out for yourself. If you know what kind of a rom you would like eg, sense, non sense, froyo, gingerbread, sense hd, etc, then just pick one. Some are better than others but you really need to try them out, all of them if need be.
I'm curious. We have about three different sense 3.0 ROMs in the works. Each have or have had the same issues in porting it over. Yet, one ROM will fix one issue while another fixes a different issue and neither fix the issue that the other has already fixed. I don't mean any harm. Just curious. It just doesn't seem like much communication is going on between developers. I don't have enough knowledge about this kind of thing to understand.
true..i was actually kind of wondering what the difference in between Synergy and Hybrid RLS is?

Here's my analogy:
Mercedes and BMW both make really nice cars, but they use a different method to get similar results. Every now and then, a Rolls Royce will appear. One of these will be a Rolls Royce.
Hybrid is pure 3.0
Synergy is 2.1 with 3.0 add ons
Currently Synergy might be more stable, but Hybrid has more toys.

Synergy is a 2.1 base with 3.0 features. They are trying all sorts of combinations to find features that users want and stability.
Hybrid started as full 3.0 port that was a mix of other 3.0 Roms mixed to try to find the best stability and functionality.
The issues with these Roms on our incredibles is memory, our phones don't have enough RAM to run everything it is trying to run. The dev's fix one thing and something else get broken.
There has been tremendous collaboration when in the early stages of these Roms and there still is. Dev's that have been working on their own have been teaming up to get these stable.
How do you guys get started with android development? I would love to be able to contribute and learn.
I am currently running the Nightlies of Synergy. It seems pretty solid, i've noticed a few things here and there. I have not heard of hybrid, might have to give it a shot.

Search up android kitchen. Also there is a pretty vast area as far as android development goes (Custom UI Artwork, Framework coding, Kernel, etc).
As far as kernels, chad has been very helpful to people interested in modifying kernel's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068432
For ROM's, this tutorial looks helpful but I've never followed it so I can't fully vouch:

I have had my Note II since launch and I have always had the stock ROM installed. I kind of miss vanilla Android OS from my Nexus so I'm looking into flashing a brand new vanilla stock rom, I have absolutely no time to look into finding the best combination of kernel/rom/radio.etc to get the best out of the note in vanilla.
What combination of ROM/Kernel/Radio..etc did you guys find best to run on the Note II and get its full potential with good stability/battery life? I use my phone heavily for productivity and I don't care much for games.

Use AOSP roms like Cyanogenmod , AOKP, Paranoid Android etc. Use a kernel that will save your battery. Make sure it is compatible with the rom. You can find it in development section

Ya I know, but which ROM out of all these coupled with a decent kernel(stock maybe) gives me the best overall experience? Has anyone tried using the Paranoid droid as their primary daily driver?
I'm sorry to say that they are all great but for different reasons. While I've toyed with AOKP and PA, it's CyanogenMod that fulfills my needs the best. My reasoning is that I am looking for a clean and simple experience in my AOSP roms. While the others may give more options, CyanogenMod make the greatest effort to stay within Google design guidelines for Android. Overall this gives the rom a feeling of being cleaner and less cluttered than the others.
Kernel wise I've found neak, perseus, and Red pill are all great. Currently using neak because the configuration app is (again) simpler than stweaks (which the other two use).

Battery life is still quite good compared to a lot of other phones out there but noticeably worse than the stock rom. I've encountered this on all the kernels and both AOKP and CyanogenMod. Haven't tested pa extensively but I can't see it being any better than the others.

Hey guys i wanted to know whic one of these roms offers better experience!
Cause i prefer gpe ui rather than sens and i don't like like pure pure gpe!
So which one whould you choos?
Cyanogen mode11 or skydragon gpe :?
Neither of them offer better performance. These types of thread get closed everyday here on XDA. It all boils down to personal preference. Make a backup and try them out for yourself. Nobody here is you and only you can decide what works best for you.
Should we pick out your next pair of shoes for you? Want me to dress you tomorrow?
I'm sickened by people that can't make an opinion on their own and make posts like this, posts that get locked up quick.

Last I checked all of the GPE ROMs are more stable. AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod and AOKP, which task650 is working hard to build, require more work to support things like WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera, IR sensor, etc. At the moment the CM11 and AOKP builds for the M8 do not have reliable Camera functionality.
Performance wise? Any AOSP or GPE ROM had felt the same to me. Very fluid performance with no lag to speak of.
Battery life? Haven't used both enough to get a grasp but from I've seen this leans more towards gpe based software.
Stability? Crushing victory for GPE here. Their Roms contain all the proprietary stuff from HTC so naturally just about everything hardware wise is going to function just fine. All this has to be worked on heavily with any AOSP ROM due to having to find ways to get around the closed source drivers.
Customizable? I'll have to give an edge to some of the AOSP based Roms. Some such as Paranoid Android having a seemingly endless amount of options. Even GPE with gravitybox can't compare.
All in all its going to boil down to what you prefer.
SD GPE is best
(c'mon i know thats biased but what do people expect with comparison threads)
reported for slaughter
Thread closed,
Rom comparison threads are against forum rules. Best thing to do is to try them for yourself.
Many thanks,
