You guys should categorise the forum, place the devices sub-forums into the brand sub-forum. What I mean is, all HTC devices in 1 "HTC devices" sub-forum, all LG devices in 1 "LG devices" sub-forum, Google Nexus devices in 1 "Google Nexus devices" sub-forum, and so on.

Hi!
Your suggestion would be best made here,

New Palm Treo Pro is manufactured by HTC so I think it should have it's own subforum. What's your opinion?
I asked this in the General forum too. HTC or not, it's a cool device and almost requires some attention here Being an HTC build though just makes it that much more cooler!
Normally, if you provide a Link with Proof that HTC manufacture the new Palm then the Admin will add a forum for it.

Even Request Threads need to follow posting rules. No need for redundant threads.

I haven't seen this thread, sorry for my spam you can delete this thread if you want
I notice that the device-specific forums often have a "mobile 6" subforum. My device is a T-Mobile Wing, so I see a "Herald" subforum and a "Herald Mobile 6" subforum. What does "Mobile 6" refer to? If it refers to Windows Mobile 6, I thought all Heralds/Wings were WM6+ devices?
Just trying to understand what the two subforums are for. Searched for an explanation but had no luck.

Yes they're Win Mo 6 forums. IIRC (maybe have to ask an older mod, I joined with a Wizard, and didn't start posting til I had my Kaiser), the Herald was a WM5 device, so WM6 forums were added to support it's development on it.
The forums may seem obsolete now, but they were probably required in their day. And removing forums is always hard work .

Thanks, Dave. People continue to post all kinds of topics in both subforums, so I'll have to keep an eye on both. Just a minor annoyance.
Just wondering, why is there no category for forums about the Droid? When I browse forums by category on the new XDA app I see a category on there for most all other android handsets, why no Droid? I guess I feel like it was a mainstream enough device to merit some hacking, right?
Please assist.

It is time to pull the trigger on the DROID forum? Yay or Nay? Let's resolve.

It is, in my view, time to bring this issue to a vote. Not that we citizens of XDA-land have a voter per se in the Information Design and Forum Structure at XDA. But you admins do, of course. Svetius has had his "new forums?" thread open now since January 11th -- it is now April 7th -- Not quite 90 days, but surely enough time to take the pulse of the community and the site management.
I personally think it's embarrassing to XDA to continue to stonewall this issue and act like "it's covered elsewhere on other forum sites". If that were actually the case, then I have to say, all these people who nonetheless ask repeatedly for a droid forum here must just be stupid. However, numerous seemingly bright people have challenged this claim that seems to be the basis for blocking the addition of the DROID forum. But it's not my call. It is the call of the owners and admins of XDA. My request as a user is: Please, at least resolve it one way or the other.
As I wrote in this post here, at the end of the day, if nothing more, if you've got valid reasons for not opening this widely asked-for forum at XDA, then at least have the courtesy to SAY SO, and to at least provide a suitable re-direct link to the most useful DROID development community sites on the web -- placed within in a STICKY within the General and ANDROID General Forums suitably named something clear like: For DROID devices, we recommend these resource links.
To me that would provide a suitable closure on the issue, and give people seeking Droid development help a doorway to help, vs a bottomless pit with no answers at all.
Hi, im checking od theres something new around my desire 500s android development but conversely to other phones, it still is not supported on xda, not to mention it is 4.1.2 out of the box in 2013.....I'd like to ask then, what is wrong with this HTC??
The forum admins choose new device forums carefully, based on several factors. There's no guarantee your device will have a forum created here, but feel free to post your requests in this thread.

Let's say we have "Device" forums
there is also "Verizon Device" and "at&t device".
The forums of the Verizon and at&t device should be subforums in the "Device" forums.
@X3RATH, instead of making new threads, please post your recommendations in this thread dedicated to that purpose.
Sorry.
