I have a Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P5210 wifi version , unrooted, kit kat 4.4.2, running KOT49H.P5210UEUOCNK1. No matter what i can't get into download mode. home+down+power gets me into a recovery/update mode. I can get into the screen that offers "volume up to reboot, volume down to continue" and no matter the button it simply reboots.
I have rooted and jail broken many a device, swapped parts in and out of devices, brought back hard and soft brick devices, yada yada. I am defeated at this point. It seems I can't flash anything without getting into download mode and it is amiss.
HELP!!

And the worst of all, you might end up with a black screen. Usb Jig will not work on this device.

Hello Everyone..
I own a Galaxy nexus from last 2 months.. Yesterday the phone fell from my hand and hit the ground because of some idiot crashing into me.. the phone felt ok.. but today I discovered that the down volume key doesnt work.. so I thought of rebooting the phone to see if it works after reboot.. but than it started going into downloading mode.. I somehow figured out that this happens because the volume down key is pressed internally due to the fall.. so i tried various ways out of which I was able to start the phone successfully via connecting a charger.. but as the volume down key was internally pressed the phone goes into safe mode everytime I start my phone now..
So is there any way I can remove this safe mode thing from my cell or change its combination? or any Rom that doesnt have the safe mode? Or any other method you can suggest that will help me start my phone and get into the normal mode..
Please help..
My Phone: Galaxy Nexus (Android Revolution HD) 4.0.4 Rooted Unlocked
I can`t get the phone in recovery mode.
Here is the issue:
Running Jedi mind trick rom three weeks. One day the phone restarted and got stuck in the boot screen.
The phone restarted and eventually keeps vibrating without display
After trying many times i did got in recovery mode so i could install the rom again (using darkside super wipe and then the rom). After one day it crashed again and again i installed an different rom which also crashed after several hours.
Now i can`t even get to download mode, Is this hardware related or do i need to use an usb jig to get this working again?
Does your phone screen turn on and at least show the Samsung logo? If not, and you said button combo presses do not work using a USB Jig will be your way to go to get back in to download mode.
By the way, did you flash the correct ROMs specifically for our phones? You shouldn't have experienced and crashes. Also, for the vibrating issue without the display, it had been mentioned that it could also be due to a stuck/dirty power button. If you can try, clean up around it.

Yes it does show the samsung logo at starting up but after that it turns off with 1-2 seconds vibrating intervals.
I already cleaned the power button but without any satisfaction.
I did dropped the phone monday but not from a great heigth.
estimated: 1mtr above ground
Yes i did. I used the guides from galaxy2root.com
Well, if you were able to use a USB Jig to get into 'Download mode', get a stock ROM from here and flash it through Odin which is also included in the link. Good luck!
GT-N5100 After OTA 4.2.2 stuck in safe mode. I didn't expect problems from a stock update.
It was working perfectly yesterday. I have wiped it clean, no change.
Kies doesn't seem to offer anything that will recover it.
Does anyone have 4.1.2 for North America? It is the international version tablet.
The one strange thing is that the volume down button does not work now.
Baseband version: N5100XXCMJ2
Build Number: JDQ39.N5100XWCNA1
Any ideas?

Try volume up and hold until you see the Samsung on the screen. I use that to boot when hung with odd firmware issues arise.
You can try going into stock recovery holding down home, volume down and power key when powering up.
If you get the notice... you should be able to connect via USB to your computer and use Odin 3.7 and flash a compatible ROM for your device, if available. I don't have a 5100, so I am not able to assist in locating one for you. You should state what carrier your tablet is with. So others can assist with the right ROM.

T-mobile is my carrier. I tried the phone and text messages and they are not working, yet the mobile data is.
When I tried the home/voldwn/pwr I get the
Warning!
A custom os can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.
If you want to download a custom os,press vol up key.
Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.
At this screen I can't press either button. Neither will do anything. I know the volup was just working.
I get different screens by either using the volup or voldwn. So this would indicate the vol buttons are fine as I knew yesterday.
I also was not wanting to do anything to void the warranty at this point since it is less than 1 month old.
OK, well then as long as it was an OTA and you did not root... I would take it back to T-mobile and ask for a replacement. They should be able to give you a replacement if they cannot reload the ROM and correct the issue.

Samsung said to stop by a best buy where the samsung store is inside and have them reflash it with a US carrier firmware.
That seemed like a good idea, but he was unable to get to his server where the firmware resides. He also made mension of the fact they have heard of this model having these issues. So he was unable to do anything after an hour of computer issues with reaching their internal site.
Stuck in "Safe Mode" Issue Corrected
The Samsung reps at my local BestBuy could not fix it. They said they could fix anything. Not this apparently.
I remember that sometimes after firmware loads need to be cleared out. So I found this procedure, which is part of a manual firmware update, and figured maybe it would clear the issue causing safe mode.
If Galaxy Note 8.0 N5100 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. In recovery mode use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select the option. Please note, performing wiping task will erase your device internal memory data and not external SD card data.
YES, no more safe mode!!
Im looking to flash my galaxy s7 active because, for some unkown reason the os is corrupt or has a virus.
I have not downloaded anything, all i did was charge it while i slept, picked it up an hour ago and the voulme keeps going down no matter if i press the key or not, the button isnt damaged the voulme menu never leaves the top of device like some ghost hand is permently holding back on the volume dunno wtf that is. I did a factory reset, that didnt fix the issue. The phone is permmently stuck in safe mode, I have tried to enter recovery mode and it gets stuck in a boot loop or opens the light blue screen with the explaination point, the only options is download custom os or cancel. I would like your help on what software i need to fix my somehow randomly damaged device.
Andriod version 7.0

Your phone doesn't have a virus. The fact that you already did a factory reset has already reverted your OS back to retail apps and settings, just like how you first got it.
Given the scenarios you provided, it seems that your volume down-button is indeed "stuck" internally (for some reason). Samsung's universal safe mode trigger is to "press-hold down button while booting"--since your vol-down button is stuck, every time you boot, it will always be in safe mode.
You might want to remove the phone case if you have one installed. Then try to inspect the volume down button a bit closer. If all else fails, get a replacement/warranty or something similar (if still in scope). It could be a hardware defect that just popped up.
Goodluck

It had to have been a virus or corrupt os, I restarted into recovery and flashed it to stock and it works perfectly now with no issues, the button was not stuck internally or externally, as pressing it caused no issues as well as if the device button was stuck it should have navigated the recovery menu if it was stuck. either way after flashing it works perfectly so no it wasnt stuck, and besides i have a galaxy s7 active, trying to disassemble that thing is a nightmare
I wanted to root my Note10+.
It is a Note10+ SM-N975F. It is not locked to any carrier.
I enabled dev options, unlocked OEM, booted into download mode, and unlocked the bootloader. This was apparently successful.
I then tried to use Odin to flash stock rom. Odin fails at "system.img". I tried to flash with Chimera Tool. Chimera also fails at "system.img". I tried different stock roms (older versions etc.), the error perists. I tried on a different computer, the error persists.
So I decided to flash a patched TWRP, then I was gonna flash ROM throught TWRP.
I flashed TWRP and that leads me to now. My phone is effectively dead:
If I plug it in or turn it on, it boots to the "Samsung Galaxy Note10+" screen, it will tell me to press power to confirm that I understand that the phone's security has been bypassed/non-official software is installed. Then it will hang forever on the "Samsung Galaxy Note10+" screen.
There doesn't seem to be anyway to turn it off other than letting the battery drain, but even with the battery drained, if I plug it in, it will just boot to the "Samsung Galaxy Note10+" screen.
If I hold power + volume down, it will reset back into the "Samsung Galaxy Note10+" screen.
Whether it's on or off, power + volume up appears to do nothing
Any ideas? If I can get into download/recovery mode it should be fixable... But I can't even get there at this point!
Try different Odin.
Holding the power button for more than 10 seconds should always shut down.
Im happy to help if you are struggling?
Had the same bootloop symptoms, fixed!
i had the same bootloop when trying to update to beta android 10, let your phone drain completely, hold volume up and down at the same time, connect a usb cable and it should turn on to a download mode screen, flash latest rom (BL+AP+CSC+CP) and you re all set
Yep - solved in line with the above:
I let it it drain, then held vol up and down and plugged into computer - got into download mode recognised by Odin!
