Hello, i just got my phone in after sending it in for repair, and they upgraded my phone to V11a. This might be the newest firmware, and it seems to fix the battery issues (i have gotten a full day (8am-12:36am right now am at 30%) compared to having to charge my phone mid-day, and overnight).
Here is my story: My phone was rooted before i sent my phone away for repair (and i had cyanogenmod installed) but now it is stock. I remember a need for stock firmware previously, because all we had was a Korean firmware or something like that. Also, because it is a new firmware i am wondering if anyone would like to have it (though i am sure you can just do an OTA update) so i can upload mine if you want. I just don't know how to get the files, and what files to get.
The files i am talking about include the .img files and the .kdz (if i am right) so: baseband.img, firmware.img...etc.
If nobody has or will have a need for these files then i will stop posting about it, but i have a stock (not even rooted yet) phone and i want to do something to benefit the community...
here is some info you might already know:
Lg Optimus 4G LTE
Bell Canada
P930
same phone as Nitro HD
Stock - LG-P930-V11a-NOV-04-2011
I will be rooting and installing a firmware by Tuesday if possible.
Thanks for reading

TL;DR
I have stock firmware, and i am wondering how to make a backup of the firmware in case i need to restore to stock after i root and install cyanogenmod.

First,it's very old from and if you want cwm, you need root(not remember if it's possible) or use unbrick instruction
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app

if i make a nandroid backup, and then i install a custom firmware, will i be able to go back to stock, with just the nandroid backup?
I'm asking this not only so i can help myself in case i need to, but also to help other people who want/need to go back to stock (to upgrade/get repairs)
another, kind of related question. how would i get the things like the boot.img, baseband.img, firmware.img...etc. that seem to be needed to unbrick? from what i am reading (i never followed the instructions in the unbrick post though, as i don't feel the need to yet) we only have a korean version of the phone backed up like this. while i still have a stock phone, would there be any way to get these required files. or am i missing the point, and these files are not needed?
Sorry about all the questions, i'm new-ish to this, we all have to start somewhere.
Thanks
An E970 will probably need to be replaced. The current one is on 4.1.2 (stock AT&T, rooted, E97020j). Could I do a NANDroid backup (never done one before) and restore it on the replacement phone once received? From what I read, that should technically be possible.
Or, is NANDroid even what I want? I just want it to be almost exactly the same on the replacement phone as the original phone was.
Yes you can.
Should work with exception of various protected apps (Due to wifi mac and imei change)
I've done it before. Even did a data only restore off another phone and it worked.
Just disable md5 check.
Has anyone here used it?
I was wondering what firmware etc it was on as i get one this Saturday. I'm also assuming we arent lucky like the t-mobile version and have an unlocked bootlater as default? I Have always been addicted to flashing roms haha, been doing it since the HTC Dream (I.e the G1) days with jesusfreke root.
Having come from a Nexus 4 where it is easy to return to root/relock the bootlader if you need to send in for a warranty, What is it like for the G3? If i put TWRP on there and something hardware wise goes wrong, is it easy to relock etc? I have read about the LGFlashtool but notice a lack of availability of the Optus Firmware to use as a backup
Cheers
Hey all. I am planning on returning my Note 7 after New Years. I have a rooted phone running package disabler pro and Titanium backup. I have the ota frozen but everyday I keep receiving the notification about the new update coming soon. Does this mean when its released I will automatically get it? Anyway to avoid it? Thanks!
I just bought the Moto Z2 Force today (ATT version yuck). Basically I need to be able to restore data from google's automatic backup since I have apps and data there that cannot be reproduced (my launcher was discontinued etc). Since the ATT version cannot upgrade past android 7.1.1 it cannot restore from my old phone which was at a newer version of android.
Is there a way to kill two birds with one stone here? I don't want ATT on my phone but my main priority is to restore from google backup. What ROMs allow google restore? Is there a stock unlocked (not carrier version) of android for the Z2 Force that I can flash? This would be optimal for me since I like the android experience.
Would Lineage or Resurrections Remix work? (I have never used those so Idk how close to android they are. As long as I can backup I'd be happy to try).
Any help is appreciated, thank you!
further questions...
I see this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-force/development/att-ocxs27-1094717-xml-zip-grabbed-t3905967
which sounds like it forces an update on the att phone. If I follow these steps I'll be able to at least restore from my old phone? But then is there a way to unlock / remove att bloatware after that?
EDIT: update. I'm using the LMSA to flash a newer version as found in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/update-moto-lenovo-moto-smart-assistant-t3951714
hopefully this will let me restore. But I still need to unlock the phone and remove bloatware.
