Is there any way to have more than one Google account on the Fire Phone?
Related
I have a google account ***@gmail.com and this is linked to my google apps e mail ***@customdomain.com.
I don't use the google account gmail address at all, only the google apps account. Presumably, my phone (when I get it) will ask me for my google account details so which should I use?
I see from another thread that paying for apps necessitates a google account login that is linked to google checkout rather than a google apps login. I don't want to get things too complicated but at he same time I want all of my contacts to be synched with my google apps account rather than my google account.
Does this make sense and can anyone suggest what I should do?
I definitely don't want the main e mail address and contacts list to be my @gmail.com address. Thanks
Don't sweat it! It isn't a problem.
Set up your phone with your Google Apps for Domains account.
Everything will work just fine, up to the point when you want to purchase some apps from the market. It will then just ask you for another account to link to Google Checkout, purely for purchasing purposes only - all your purchased apps will still be linked to your Google Apps for Domains account.

Dave
Awesome, Thanks
I just spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out what turned out to be a simple answer. Not having found the answer anywhere online, I'll post it here in case someone else is going through the same thing.
I rooted my son's Kindle Fire with KFU (thanks to everyone who has contributed scripts & helpful postings on that topic), launched Google Play and made a mistake by logging in under his older google account. Although the Google help claimed I should be able to switch to any account currently in use on the device simply by going to menu | accounts under Google Play, it was failing to recognize his other account, which was in use for email, and Google Play wouldn't let me configure an additional account.
The key: The account must be in use in another *Google* application (seems obvious in hindsight). If email is only set up with the original Kindle email app, the google system doesn't see it, and only some of the google apps have the "add account" function.
Solution: Use Google Play under the "wrong" account to download the free GMail app. Setup GMail with the "right" account. Return to Google Play. Menu | Accounts | select the newly set up account and you're good to go.
You should have been able to add another account under settings / accounts & sync / add account / Google.

on stock there shoudl be an app called "Account and Sync Settings" or something to that effect, you'll need to add the new Account.
then when you log into the market you can go to settings and account and select the other as the default account..
BUT: This isn't always 100% I've had issues where where it occasionally reverts back to the initial account.
Google really makes it a PITA when this happens.. I wiped my phone and did this exact thing, and it felt like it was pretty much a pain.
Works Great

Thanks a lot for the solution. Gmail was the key to adding another account. Once I created the Gmail account for the new corrected account, I was able to choose that profile in other parts of Google (like Play Games) on the Fire.
Then, how do you delete the wrong account ?
Thank you so much !
I am using a Fire HD 10 (2017) and my wife accidentely added her Google account below my profile. Since the stock version does not provide "Account and Sync" below settings: how can I remove a Google account from my profile? Removing the account from the device using another device does now work since the device always tries to re-authenticate the removed account. This is driving me insane. As a bonus the Gmail app crashes since then...
For all registration purposes, purchases and other services i was always using my secondary google account (newsletters, spam..), primary is for irl people.
But using secondary account for play store could be a mess, earlier android ver. tried to associate always your primary account, in the desktop browser
play store doesn't have 'switch account' option like in gmail or youtube, so you have to log off - sign in etc, so you end up with apps installed on both your accounts.
I'm interested in what people here are using for play store? One primary account for all because it's more convenient, or something else?
I use 2 accounts, one is primary that links to all Google services. The second is just added for gmail sync only.
I cant login to my google account it says that theres no wifi connection and i am on fast one although i have google play services n all the gapps but i cant login any help?
This is a stock, unrooted Fire Phone. The only thing I did was followed the guide to install Google Play services so I can install GMail, Google Play Store, and add Google accounts. No problem.
Now the phone is going to be used by a family member, and I couldn't figure out how to remove the previous Google accounts already added to the phone.
Please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

Just like with any google play install on any android phone you can't remove the main gmail account attached to google play without a reset.

Nope, not the main account. There are two additional google accounts added to the phone after the original account, and I'd like to remove those two.
