Better sound? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A question ; viper4android doesn't work on tab 10.5 (it's work on note 4 lollipop 5.2) but I wonder if it's any other app /program to get better /louder sound. I think it's quite poor sound in the tablet. Only thing I really don't like on my tab.

[Q] Volume Boost / Increase

Hi There,
I have a Galaxy Tab3 7.0 and I'm wondering how I can go about increasing the headset volume? Even at 15, it's still pretty low for me. I've tried a few of the volume boost apps on the app store but none of them work.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Also looking for the same. Viper worked for me, but caused massive distortion even with modest settings. On the plus side, with an EQ running I find that sound quality is great via the headphone jack, it sounds nice in my car.

My bad - to clarify, I am not using Viper and don't recommend trying it, due to the distortion (which let me know that it technically worked). It sounds great in my car- without Viper - partially because my car stereo adds a 18db boost.
I dunno if this will help, but I found this volume hack/mod for the galaxy s4. I have this installed on my phone, but I dunno If this will work on the tablets. It is a flashable zip file... If any of you brave people wanna flash and confirm if this works on the tablets that would be awesome

Does the Tab S have a proper dialler

Dont know why it is so hard to find this info online but can someone confirm whether the 4g/LTETab S can be used as a big phone i.e it has a normal dialler just like a phone (when used with a sim card of course).
Thanks
Yes it does
It's a phone on steroids + a whole lot more

The tab s 8.4lte I think has the phone speaker near the camera in which you can use vs the tab s 10.5 doesnt
Anyway to pull the apk? I could use bluetooth on the rare chance that I need to use the dialer.
from what i know US carrier don't allow phone capabilities on tablets, so that tab s with a dialer, is it an exynoss international version? does it get LTE from t-mobile and at&t? does the snapdragon version have a dialer? if i buy a US carrier version can I add a dialer and text apps that will actually work with my phone number? lol
man are these tablets over price for the old technology they come with. a note 3 is better. that screen though that screen!

pick up calls From watch does not work

Hi!
Everything in my M360 works perfectly EXCEPT pick up calls (hung up works well). when I can not take the phone because I have my hands busy it is a good feature because I can pick up the phone and use the handsfree.
I have a Meizu MX4 in 4.4.2 KitKat and of course I have all permissions allowed

I seem to have the same problem, although that's not a big issue to me.
Let's see if 5.1.1 fixes it.

It's all in my signature... "Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (N9005) - carrier-free, black, 32GB + 128GB Samsung microSD - stock 4.4.2 (XXUGNG1) - Nova Launcher Prime - CF-Auto-Root - Xposed"
Anyway, sometimes it works and it accepts the call, it's not consistently "not working", for me (while rejecting a call works 100% of the time).
In my case never... It is weird...
Still same with the new update.... I dont know why

New Note 4 - Updated to 5.1.1. Root?

I recently got my AT&T Note 4 (yesterday, actually) and it updated to 5.1.1 (Unsure what it was running before hand) and I am wondering if there is a root for 5.1.1 on the ATT note 4?
Nope, not currently.

Not at the present moment. I'm in the same situation. I went with the Note 4 because the 5 did away with removable battery and expanded microSD. I just got mine last week and it has 5.1.1 on it. So I guess we just have to wait it out for now. I've subscribed to this thread and hope there is a root soon!
I knew I shouldn't have updated! But I didn't do it on purpose, I think it did it on it's own or while in my pocket...
Yeah I stupidly updated not realizing there wasn't a root available and well I'm here to join the club lol
Should be soon.

My wife's makes some sounds even on standby when the screen is tilted. Small sounds similar to the ones it makes when you swipe the screen to unlock

That's normal. Samsung assumes that if your messaging app is open, and your screen is on, then you will be able to see new messages appear on the screen. There's no way to change this unfortunately.
It sucks for me too because I use multi window sometimes, and the messaging app is open along with something else. I often make the messaging app smaller until I need to reply in a conversation, but I have to constantly check for new messages because no sound plays (or vibration).

I really hope they can make a root soon... I wanna get a debloated ROM (I've disabled most of the crap I can through the app manager) but it still seems abit bulky, and heavy on RAM and battery usage.

Question Dolby Atmos MD2 Edition - Magisk Module

Coming from OnePlus 7 Pro - I really liked the audio processing/equalizer capabilities that were built in when connecting to my 2020 Corolla (that doesn't have AndroidAuto because Toyota is stupid)
I was looking at Viper4Android and reading the problems people were having keeping it running didn't appeal to me.
Has anyone else tried this? https://github.com/reiryuki/Dolby-Atmos-MD2-Edition-Magisk-Module/blob/main/README.md
It installed fine first try and the Dolby app appears to be working when I poke through the app, but I don't have any headphones at work to test with.
I'm looking forward to seeing if I can get back to great sound music in the car again this afternoon!
Viper 4 Android might be a pain to get to work on whatever devices, but it's totally worth it. Someone always finds out how to make it work. There's a thread for it in here - find it and do the one where you modify a line in a file (NOT as difficult as it may sound lol). Worked perfectly for me. You'll understand v4a once you have it working. Seriously. I've been using it for years. It's night and day, even in my Audi.

I appreciate this. While I got viper working on the speakers of my phone, when attached to my p.o.s. Toyota Corolla, it refuses to process. So I'm back to Dolby app I posted above which is working...but now I want viper to work.

I finally got it working in Legacy mode today!
After a lot of poking around and dragging around I kind of got the car sounding better. It really takes a lot to get the quality back where it used to be,but not exactly there yet.
