Is there any way to stop the front facing camera from putting pictures in two folders?

They're only in one folder on the actual phone but you can go into gallery settings and press show/hide albums and untick selfies, then the selfies won't show in the gallery separately any more.

Naturally, it's the natural image that camera takes the pictures. Most of cameras have the function to reverse the image, so the final image shows the objects just like what you see. If the image from your camera is inversed, then it means that something has been changed on the camera option or intentionally not reverse the image.
Very old camera shows the image like that...
I changed no options is this just something the device does?

Which app? do you mean Stock Camera app?
[Update] never mind. I just tested it out and found the issue in here.
The stock camera does not reverse the original image even it shows reversed image on the screen.
So, one step missing on front camera app. This should be fixed on next version....
During the time, if you need to reverse the image, there's a workaround. Go to the photo editor and select the image taken from front camera and apply the 'reverse' by clicking the arrow icon heading left side....
Thanks very much just making sure because I was like why is the image flipped!

I'm not sure if this has been posted in our forum, I was looking around for it last night tried it and it works great. Not too sure who to give credit to as I had a few drinks and didn't pay attention on where I got it. This will install the 4.2 camera and gallery. I flashed with Twrp. It won't delete the camera you already have, just adds the new one.
It was tricky to figure out how to use the Photo Sphere so I will give a quick rundown;
1. Open new camera in the app drawer
2. Tap small camera icon and select the spherical globe
3. Take a spherical photo, no need to tap any buttons, it will take the shot automatically
4. Close out app
5. Reopen new camera app and swipe left to access the new gallery
6. Scroll to your spherical photo and tap the little globe icon and view.
7. Awesome.

you don't have to exit out. you can just swipe left and find it processing the image and wait for it to finish.
Works perfect on rasbean 6/11..

Every time I take a picture using the flash, the pictures have a come out dark and with a blue cast over the whole picture. I have checked the settings on the camera and even tried resetting everything back to defaults but nothing seems to help. I know I have used the flash before and didn't have this problem. Does anyone have a similar problem or a fix?
Do you have a case on with a large bezel around the camera.

No case on the camera. I am using the OEM battery door/flip cover though. Could that do it? I'll try taking it off and taking a picture.
What is "smart capture" option in the camera settings?

From my knowledge if you put your thumb over it and quickly take it off it'll trigger the camera shutter. I don't like it personally so I choose to keep it disabled.

Isn't that how you normally take a picture? I mean how many different ways to we need to snap a pic.

My bad, I meant over the lens. So for example, while getting my camera ready I would accidentally snap a pic because my hand would go in front of the lens for a second.
Would like to ask my fellow xda member is they noticed when taking pictures it takes a few second to register the picture taken, meaning like mine everytime I take a picture it shows "processing" right after i click tue shutter and it will take a few seconds before I can take another picture. Camera settings is at default.

With the camera you can turn off Smart Stabilization and the processing time goes away completely.
does smart stabilization actually work? I've always left it on
yes, the stabilizer is work.
I think it works pretty good in the few tests I've made, but it does cause the lag you were talking about.

Check also that you do not have "HDR" enable. HDR will take a second to complete the process
