Anyone try this app from Samsung?? (You can download for Samsung app store) Seem like it's not working on rooted Loly? It claimed that I am not using original samsung software? and just shut down itself.
Works good on my Edge. I'm using the free version.

Hmmm...strange i cant seem to get it run on mine. Keep saying its not supported on non samsung official firmware. I thought it must be the root that causing the issue. I will try to unroot see if it work. .

update: I reflash my firmware to unroot....and it does work! I am really unsure how you managed to get your Music to work with rooted firmware?? even if it comes with the phone....It seem like this app can detect whether the firmware has been modified or not (in this case root). Once I rooted, it stop working.

No, I'm on AT&T. No root available.
But yes, this app was originally designed only for Samsung and therefore can detect altered roms, etc.
Works fine on my rooted sprint edge

For future reference; Install Xposed if not already then download RootCloak from the "download" section. Once downloaded go into the RootCloak app and check the box for the app/apps you want.

Ok further to my last post, I was able to get milk loaded using a module in xposed called 'Chocolate Milk'. Please note if you use this module you will need to sideload(not install from the appstore) MILK to get this working, good luck!
Working great on rooted sprint. Love this app i use it everyday.
only available in the United States... anyway to bypass this?

HI,
i have rootet my T-MobileGalaxy S3 and leave the original FIrmwarfrom T-Mob on it. No custom Rom.
Now i wanted to show TV with my MobileTV App. But there comes a disclaimer, that i don't use original firmware
from T-mobile so i can't watch. Than the app closed.
A talk to T-Mobile custom care have no solution, cause they can't stop the romcheck in the app.
Anyone any idea? And please, don't the unroot it. I have rooted it cause i need AF-Firewall. Unrooting is no solution.
Please help :crying:
Thanks
How did you root? If your status shows "modified" things like this will not work. Only one way I know for sure to gain root without causing the status to change. Even then, system modifications can also trigger it. Has to do with DRM policies where any drm content will not work with rooted devices.

Hi, i rooted it with "oneclick 7.0", from here.
everything works. only MobileTV denied.
But I'm not the only one with this prob.
forum.telekom.de/foren/read/service/mobile-nutzung/mobiletv/root-romchek-in-mobiltv-zwingend-noetig,875,11148223,11148223.html
Only way to root w/o causing the device status to change is the root66 method. (Sorry I didn't put that in before, too tired i guess!)
Even then, if you apply any mods it'll change to modified. (I just tested a root method that failed, so I'm 100% stock, and just the attempt seems to have changed it)
Ill reflash root66 in a bit to verify I'm not remembering wrong. Will let you know.

Oh, OK, thats not fine. I searched here for a while, and find the one-click-root .

But the most fail is, that the MobileTV app is checking the ROM.
Why, its not necessary. :silly:

Guys, please Reset your Flash Counter and all will be well. You will be able to use the original App. You should get the App Called "Triangle Away". Please do read the OP completely, of the thread before using the app.
I've just deinstalled MobileTV.

How To ROOT the Optimus G Pro E-980
after installing the latest update to E98010p
1. Install the drivers if you have not done so yet from http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-E980 (under Software Update tab)
2. Install this program (Kingo Android Root) from download.com: http://download.cnet.com/Kingo-Android-Root/3000-2094_4-75996768.html
Notes: You get a download.com installer initially. I was offered two programs I would never use so I declined those and got the actual program from the installer. Nothing was forced so don't freak out. The actual program is 22.5mb.
3. Open the Kingo program after install.
4. Put your phone in USB Debugger mode and connect it to your PC.
5. Select "Install PC Software" on your phone popup and let the Kingo program do its job.
6. The program will attempt root in Odin mode at first and fail and will then automatically use the correct mode and succeed.
Once the program completes you will have rooted your LG Optimus G Pro with "SuperSU" installed. Very simple. Next step is to install a Recovery.
I tried to post this on XDA but I don't have 10 posts so I gave up there. I go there often for solutions and new information but rarely post, but people seemed to be struggling with this and I thought I should give something back. Someone with link posting power can repost this to the forum if you want but please give me some credit for finding this on YouTube. Thanks!!!

FreeGee will put the lokified version of the recovery on your phone, which is needed since the bootloader is still locked
Can you tell me, or anyone can tell me, why Rom Manager doesn't work? It says it has Loki support but when I try to use it I get the android with the red symbol denoting it can't boot into recovery. I'm just curious.

Not sure....
I've read that Kingo and vroot are malicious root programs that might be sending IMEI info to Chinese servers. Then, supposedly other phones can be set up with your credentials. I don't have any way to verify if the aforementioned is true, but I'm just passing it along...
Maybe a web search of vroot and Kingo are in order.....
If that is true, and I'm not saying it is or isn't, I'm sure a web search on the matter could tell you what to look for. Such as hidden malicious apps installed, etc. It would be a prudent move to check into it but nothing to panic over until and/or unless there is some truth to it. Just my 2 cents on the matter....lol
---------- Post added at 02:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:02 PM ----------
Just because you brought it up Andy, I went into all my settings and apps. This method DOES install an app in your phone. I probably should have wrote down the app info before I removed it but I forgot to. it's not rocket science to figure it out on your own though. You see a blue icon with some Chinese writing on it. I went ahead and removed it from my phone just to be safe. But chances are IF this app is sending ANY data to a foreign server, it has done so already because it's been in my phone for a few hours already before I noticed it.
I did read online about the uploading of IMEI numbers but ONLY to build a database from but that feature has since been removed because of the concerns it raised.
Worked fine for my LG Optimus G Pro E980. I also ran Malware Bytes afterwards and found no malware, then I ran CM Security and the only thing I found was an sms fake phishing vulnerability which I am almost sure didn't come from the root process.
So just want to verify on this software is working for E980 10p update? Has anyone else found 10p root method to work without reflashing.? I am almost tempt to hold out on 4.4 OTA update coming for my phone.

Yes, it will. Even on the S5 without tripping KNOX. Just try it yourself, no risk involved. I haven`t tried it myself but i`am absolutely sure it will get you root.
Good to know.

I've never worried about the 'warranty voided' stories. If software could physically damage a device then the device is poorly made. I had three different rooted Samsung that failed due to the 'sudden death syndrome'. They were all fixed under warranty. Never heard of anyone having problems with warranty on a rooted device - only urban myths!

Not with my rooted phones - any that died or had faults have always been fixed under warranty - going right back to the 'Hero'. If I buy a brand name Windows PC, wipe the hard disk and install Linux, the manufacturer still has to honour their hardware warranty under EU law. Same with mobiles/phones/tablets.
Maybe North American consumer protection laws are not as good as those here in Europe.
For instance, in the EU we can return anything we buy via mail order for a full refund within 14 days for any reason under the 'distance selling' regulations. Goods bought in shops or via mail order also have to be of 'merchantable quality'. As it currently stands, EU customers could obtain a full refund for the LG G3 as it does not work reliably with the Google Chromecast. This is probably why Samsung fixed a similar problem with a software patch when some of their devices had the same problem.

It did work for me too, is annoying now , now the phone has to have a lock screen set up. Google Wallet had better . It does look better to the eye though
For now, there is no guaranteed way to maintain both root & use Android Pay. XDA featured an explanation on the portal that was offered by one of Google's security engineers. It's fairly straightforward, if disappointing for anyone who wants both.
Mine stop working after a day ,
I just uninstall it , I was happy cuz it was annoying having the screen lock with a pin or pattern

Anything but xbin_bind.
I'm wondering about this too. I guess in the meantime I could always get a contactless credit card and superglue it to the back of the phone. To emulate the NFC effect, I could just turn on the torch.

It gets deactivated by the csc file settings. If you are rooted you can edit your carrier settings to enable it. Problem is finding the right file and right settings to do so.
