[Q] Samsung Sm_n750s wont power on. - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
my samsung galaxy note 3 neo (Sm-N750s) won't power on after I mistakenly installed the wrong software on it. The phone froze during the the end of the installation and after taking out the battery it won't power on. I tried accessing the boot menu and stuff but nothing happens. Please help.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds like you've bricked your device and there probably isn't much you can do to fix it. I'm going to move your thread here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-neo/help where the experts on your device reside. You probably also want to look and see if JTAG is available for your device.

Hey people,
A friend of mine is getting a white screen on his Galaxy Y, can't do anything with it. Even a hard reset (as found on the internet) doesn't work. (Hard reset being holding volume up, center button and power button).
Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Thats NOT a hard reset! Pull the battery, and insert it again. Now do your "hard reset". As in, holding volume up+home+power key together until you see the Samsung logo. Do a data wipe and restart. If that doesnt work, search for flashable firmware packages in the Development section. If that doesn't work either, replace your phone.
Hey guys,
Thank you both for your replies.

Stating what happened: He just suddenly had a white screen, unable to do anything with the phone. Rebooting, pulling the battery etc. didn't do anything.
Your second option didn't work either unfortunatly.

Sorry about that, I just read in about this phone, since it's not mine, and I already forgot about the second part.
Unfortunately, neither of this works. Every boot method gets him a white screen. Since he rooted his phone about a week ago, looks like he's going to need a new one.

try flashing the ROM using Odin from the PC
Might Odin be the same as Samsung Kies in dutch? Or is this an external program?
Assuming it's this program: http://odin-win.sourceforge.net/
Now how does this work? I've been flashing my phone for quite a while now, but I'm not familiar with this program. Can I just download a ROM (stock) from the developers part here?

Okay thanks for all your help guys.
My friend tried everything you people suggested, but nothing worked. He just had an expert look at it and it's just totally bricked. Gotta buy a new one. Thanks for trying anyway!
Sorry for bringing this up again, but I kinda feel sorry when people brick their devices. Yours doesnt have to be a brick. Read this. The instructions are on the first page. There's a link to Odin too. Hope for the best!

My samsung galaxy note 2 got bricked!

Hello everyone I have bricked my note 2 and suddenly I can't boot because it's stucked on the Samsung Logo. After i installed a font program it said that I had to reboot and then I did.
And then I was trying to recover with "recovery-cwm-6.0.1.5-N7100"
But right now it doesn't display more than Samsung galaxy note 2...
Would be awesome if you guys can help me
Well youre in luck because if it showing a Samsung logo its not bricked.
Second just flash the factory image found in the android development forum. You can do this by booting into download mode by holding the power button and home button and volume down as it boots and then use odin to flash the .tar factory image you just downloaded...its simple really. So dont panic because its entirely fixable!
Just go find a guide on how to flash factory images and youll find step by step Instructions

I'd have to be shown it is possible to brick a high end samsung device. Between recovery and in the worst cases Odin or in some cases emergency recovery in Kies I have recovered from a complete non bootable phone. No vibrate, no splash screen, nothing. One of the real positives to Samsung and their software. An, as far as I am concerned, virtually unbrickable smartphone.

Ill tell you a way. Go flash some roms from other phones see what kind of damage that does. Most people dont make efs backups until its too late. See jow many times you can flash in correct roms before you lose that all important imei

If you soft-bricked your phone because you messed up the fonts like me just now, you don't have to reflash the entire ROM!
Instead it's enough to just restore the fonts via one of the zip files found http://tips4droid.com/how-to-install-jelly-bean-font-by-flashing-it-through-cwm-recovery/#.US8t2Ddc1ic"here:
I copied the zip file to my external SD card and then used CWM Recovery to install it to my phone.
To enter CWM Recovery, press Volume UP, Home and Power Button at the same time.
Hope this is helpful!
Cheers, FW

There might be others, such as me, you know...
what i did the other day was.....
i was installing different ROMs. maybe 3 or 4 a day just to get a feel for different ones. Since i am using a t889 on NET10's ATT network, i wanted to ATTEMPT to change over my phones hardware or internal settings to pick up the ATT towers better... my phone is already unlocked for ATT, so whatever im attempting is not needed. not knowing exactly what I'm doing I confused myself a bit. I went to the GooManager recovery page and was wiping all my information so i can install another ROM. while wiping the information off my phone, i was browsing through my SD card i had in the phone and saw a modem pack i put on it. FORGETTING that i just deleted everything i went ahead and just installed the modem pack and rebooted my phone. lol it got stuck on the SAMSUNG GALAXT NOTE 2 page. my MAC, PC & KIES on both weren't picking up my phone via USB. i left the phone attached to my PC and went to get dinner. came back 2 hours later and saw that my phone was connected to the computer. I ran ODIN, put a stock image of tmobiles system on the phone and had to start over with my ROM experiment.
needless to say, i was bummed thinking that i just broke such a nice phone.

Unfortunately if the device has absolutely no power at all, the device is considered a "hard" brick. The only ways to recover from a hard brick is using a JIG (possible solution) or a JTAG. JTAG cannot be used by an inexperienced tech and they are expensive to purchase. There are a number of sites that you can send your phone to that will complete the JTAG resurrection for you for around 80.00 USD.
I hard bricked my phone once while flashing CWM and was lucky enough it was within 30 days of purchase. I acted like I didn't know what happened when I got to the AT&T store and they gladly replaced it for me. You can try your luck but no guarantees. Sorry about your luck =(
A note going forward: I was only able to find a i9300 download for foxhound. You are currently in the i747/i747m forum... If you downloaded the i9300 version of Foxhound onto your device (which is for international phones) this is why your phone is no longer functioning.
You cannot flash i9300 ROMs onto USA device variants.

^^^ This is exactly right. It is a confusing point for many too, especially coming from a GS2 where compatibility was a lot better.
Good point. I probably should have looked into fox hound before I installed it.
I'm on Bell in Canada so I run a i747m.
I guess it's my own fault in the end.
I'll see if I can take it over to the Bell store and see what I can do, otherwise I guess I'll have to send it in to get it unbricked.
Thanks for the help guys.
Let us know what happens.

[Q] Is it bricked or...?

I've been searching for an answer to this since before Christmas...I haven't found anything that's worked.
I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2. I attempted the Jedi Mind Trick Rom (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called...it's been so long I can't really remember all of the details). And my phone hasn't turned on since. I've been told that it's hard bricked and I'm willing to accept that, but I thought before I threw in the towel once and for all I'd see if anyone on here could shed some light on this. When I connect it to my computer, the computer recognizes it and wants me to format it and then tells me it can't format it. Then constantly (like every few seconds) the message pops up (see attached pics). I'm hoping someone out there can tell me if that's normal of a bricked phone or if by some miracle it's holding on by a tiny thread and there's something I can do to revive it. My fiancé and I had the same phone, so I've been able to put a fully charged battery in it, but still nothing. I think I've tried every button combo possible, too. Well...hope someone has some insight on this. Thank you in advance!!!!
A quoted by keithross39:
Ok.....so there are several different levels of "brick"......
Bootloop.....recovery and download modes are both accessible and wiping cache and dalvic will fix the problem....
Softbrick 1....recovery and download modes are accessible, wiping cache and dalvic doesn't solve things but reflashing the ROM in recovery does......
Softbrick 2....Only download mode accessible....flashing a firmware via odin fixes the problem.....
Hardbrick 1.....neither recovery or download modes are accessible, but you still get the battery charging symbol appearing when you plug in your charger....a jig *might* get you into download mode, a jtag *might* also help......
Hardbrick 2 (aka...call in the undertaker).....no recovery, no download, no signs of life even if the charger is plugged in....jig and jtag will NOT help.....mainboard replacement by Samsung the only option......
On that list....where are you? And what were you doing to the phone to cause it?. Also, what firmware/ROM were you on before it went "pear shaped"?.......

For last-ditch recovery attempts I generally recommend installing Kies and seeing if it can do a full factory restore on your phone. It'll write over everything from bad ROMS to bad radios and leave you right at whatever stock is being pushed right now. Then you can re-start the tinkering from that base.

SGH-I747 Bricked to hell and Back again!!

SOooO I'm just some tinkering nut that likes to check out all of the roms out there for my devices. Flashing is worse than crack for me. I have bricked de-bricked and re-bricked this poor little galaxy and updated to 4.3 and downgraded back to 4.0 all to make it look like it just came out of the box again. nice clean bootloader. A factory rom. 0 flash count which is simply nutz since this thing should be a stripper I have flashed it with so many Roms and Mods. I have pretty much every file you can think of for this device on my computer and I am more than happy to share my information and tips with the community here at xda.
If you think you need some assistance and don't want to spend 3days hopped up on pizza and mt.dew searching every inch of the forums looking for answers feel free to ask me and I can try my best to help out.
I have almost every custom Rom out for this device.
I have Custom Kernels from chapters 4.0.3 - 4.1.1 - 4.3 - 4.4
I have Debrick Images from the first three chapters will make one for 4.4 when I see a stable Rom
I have Stock Rom Files
I have updated Stock Rom Files.
I have updated rooted no knox Files
I have a crap load of continuous hours of searching breaking and Fixing this poor little thing.
I would have made a Tutorial page but it looks like there are plenty on the forums. I KNOW I've read them all:silly:
so I would rather put my knowledge to use in letting you simply ask me a question and I will reply as quickly as possible.
I know its going to sound nubcake. Buuut.... this is my daily device and I know how frustrating it can be when you have made one of them fatal mistakes and your device goes black or won't flash your new custom rom you want to test out.

If you go from the 4.3 bootloader to a previous one, you will brick your device via an e-fuse. You shouldn't need to revert to an older bootloader anyway unless for a specific rom. If that is the case, you are better off waiting until the developer catches up.

sorry I didn't ever encounter that in my adventures with the device. I have quickly discovered that there are too many issues with them and the flashing. I have had more problems and bricked states than I care to look at. I got the phone operating and gummy installed on it and left it at that.

Sudden Death AT&T GS3
Hi,
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3. I was running CM11 nightlies. It was working perfectly fine for all these days. Couple of days back it suddenly died. The phone hasn’t been switching on back since then. I tried putting it on full charge. Whenever I pull out the battery and reinsert it, it vibrates, The LED comes on and the Samsung screen comes on for a second and turn turns off again. I cannot access the recovery or download modes through the key combinations. I also tried going into download mode using a Jig. I have to remove the battery and reinsert it. The Jig did work and the phone did go into download mode but, only for a second and then turns off. I’m not sure what exactly the issue is.
I would be very grateful if you could help me find a solution.
Thanks.

once again not for your device but scroll down to stock firmwares and READ the whole guide. There is a kid that makes a video some where arround here as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369125 you need a 16gb class 10 sdcard or larger as well for this
Disk Space Back
I had trouble getting my max disk space after I did the debrick trick. So i'm going to shoot a quick tip to get all your space back.
go to your windows start menu and in the search type diskpart and hit enter.
in the command line type "list disk" no quotations and enter.
You should see your hard drive and any other storage devices connected in you computer. Determine which one is the sd card.
Next in the command line hit select disk x. x represents your sdcard.
last is clean disk in command line and your sd card has all its space but you must reformat it how ever you choose.
I just used sd formater.
hope that helps some peeps if so hook a noob up with some thanks clicks. :good:

*I bought this off a friend of mine.*
All he told me was that he tried installing a rom and he thinks that he installed a rom for a different model S3.
What Happens/What I Did?
1. I tried to plug it into the computer and the computer doesn't show that anything plugged in, the S3 doesn't turn on. NOTHING.
2. I connected the phone to the PC without the battery inside and the phone responds with one RED light at the top left of the phone. Nothing shows up on my computer still, not even that the phone was connected NOTHING.
3. I bought a JIG device and tried plugging it into my phone and it doesn't work. (I previously tested this JIG on another samsung device and it worked)
4. I tried doing the method to use a 16gb SD card and downloading an i747m debrick IMG and using Win32FlashTool to copy it to my SD Card. I tried with 2 different cards the first one was a 16gb SD card and the other was a 32gb SD card.
5. Through a lot of research I found a leaked way to unbrick the Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 by shorting out the R313 chip, I'm sure you guys are all aware of this method. I opened my device and couldn't find the R313 chip. After further research I found that a user was able to locate the R313 chip on the i747m and he'd unbricked his phone with that method. If anyone can help me locate the i747m R313 chip it'd be GREATLY appreciated!
If anyone can help me out it would be great! I'm very experienced at soldering so if there's a method that requires me to solder I'm more than confident I can do it.
Thank you!! :good:

I am not an expert but I'm pretty sure you need the mjb2 but there are guides all over that point misleading information. I can post a link that I believe is helpful. And as always I take no credit just pointing a finger here.
