Unfortunately if the device has absolutely no power at all, the device is considered a "hard" brick. The only ways to recover from a hard brick is using a JIG (possible solution) or a JTAG. JTAG cannot be used by an inexperienced tech and they are expensive to purchase. There are a number of sites that you can send your phone to that will complete the JTAG resurrection for you for around 80.00 USD.
I hard bricked my phone once while flashing CWM and was lucky enough it was within 30 days of purchase. I acted like I didn't know what happened when I got to the AT&T store and they gladly replaced it for me. You can try your luck but no guarantees. Sorry about your luck =(
A note going forward: I was only able to find a i9300 download for foxhound. You are currently in the i747/i747m forum... If you downloaded the i9300 version of Foxhound onto your device (which is for international phones) this is why your phone is no longer functioning.
You cannot flash i9300 ROMs onto USA device variants.

^^^ This is exactly right. It is a confusing point for many too, especially coming from a GS2 where compatibility was a lot better.
Good point. I probably should have looked into fox hound before I installed it.
I'm on Bell in Canada so I run a i747m.
I guess it's my own fault in the end.
I'll see if I can take it over to the Bell store and see what I can do, otherwise I guess I'll have to send it in to get it unbricked.
Thanks for the help guys.
Let us know what happens.

So I managed to Brick my sprint version of the galaxy s3. Like an idiot I overlooked a rom and used the i9300 version instead of my model version(nood move). Anyway I can't turn my phone on AT ALL!! I tried putting in into download and recovery and I get nothing. How do i fix this?? Anyone???
If u can't get download mode or recovery than there is no help. Maybe a jig if u have one but I'm not sure if they even work for the s3.

Ahhhh shyt! These new phones are harder to fix now, never had this problem before, but its like if mess up once with these new galaxy s3's thats it, whats the point of flashing roms when you chance it every time. Thanks though man looks like I'll have to call to get a new one.

I thought I hard brick my sons phone and here is what I did: Worth a try at this point.
Take battery out and do NOT put it back in. Take SD card out. Plug phone into computer and attempt download mode. Mine booted right up with this method when it wouldn't with anything else. If it does flash the stock rom through Odin right away and you are good to go.

I just tried that and no luck. sounds like u soft bricked it. I can't get it to turn on period. The only thing that turns on is the lcd light but only for 10 seconds then shuts off. Thanks for the help though!
If your getting a light, even temporary, I'd boot a tinycore Linux and see what mode its in for that 10 seconds

Do you get a screen at all? You say you're softbricked but you also say it doesnt start up. If you are really just softbricked then you have a screen too, in which case you'll just look like an ass going to sprint because they will see you fuucked with it and laugh you out the store. If you are hardbricked then you would have just a black screen. If you have a screen, do some reading like you shouldve done in the first place and fix it yourself.

Mine was hard bricked and it couldn't be turned on period. If yours is soft brick then you should be able to get it back into download mode but you can't get it to turn on at all, then you have a hard brick. I went to sprint and got a brand new one because they couldn't fix it either. So unless they can fix it you will have to get a new one!
Also Hard Bricked.

I think you may have flashed your Sprint GS3 with an international GSM GS3 ROM. I think you are not going to be able to recover from that.

Right. so this is what happened. My friend rooted his s3 and.. well.. he played where he shouldnt have. he went into recovery mode and formatted everything because he thought format was a good thing -.- (that was until I told him it meant delete), so after I gave him a ROM to install, cause evidently he had erased his system.... after the installation, it said completed, then asked him to restart the phone, and when he pressed yes It just never turned back on. no bootloop or anything. just black screen.
I've tried going back into recovery mode (power+home+vol up).......no response.
I've tried going into Download Mode (power+home+vol down) ....... no response.
when I plug it into the computer or USB charger without a battery in the phone the notification light turns red for a few minutes. with battery in, nothing.
my guess is that a ROM got installed, without the bootloader being unlocked. (oops)
what I'm really here for though, is to ask if you can really blank screen brick your phone just by downloading a bad rom.
any help anyone? any advise on what I should try? anything? thanks!

Would a usb jig work? anything work? we're only kids we cant get 80$ to pay for a phone repair -.-
I ordered usb jigs yesterday.. they better do something!
most likely no you might try taking it back to your carrier and tell them you updated to jb with kies and the phone wont turn on they will send it to samsung for a warranty repair but if samsung finds out you flashed a rom they will charge you for repair if you can get to download mode with the jig then you can oden stock rom

like... alot more than 80$? because if so my friend can get a new phone through his insurance for 150$ it would be useless to wait 5 weeks to repair a phone that would cost almost as much as it would getting a new one

couldnt find anything seems like it was a couple hundred dollars but i cant find that thread so i could be wrong found one where the guy did the samething and they fixed his for free ok after more checking those whose phone would not power on was fixed by samsung for free

Gentlemen,
I was playing with ROMs as I typically did in the past, when the phone is now stuck on the SAMSUNG logo. I reflashed the stock ROM for my i747Rogers device using ODIN. I had the PDA field with the ROM in it, and Autoreboot and F.Reset.Time checked. Hit start.
Everything went fine and it rebooted. IT's stuck........HELP?
I can get it into Download mode and ODIN will recognize. Now what??
Thanks

Worst case scenario, get riff jtag done. I brick my galaxy s captivate a few years ago and that fixed it. Basically they plug the motherboard into a computer and push the ROM onto it. If you're in Toronto, I had it done at Ming Wireless downtown.
I took it to Pacific Mall (for those not in Toronto, It's THEE place for tech). A gentleman did a key sequence consisting of
the home, power and volume buttons..... got it to boot.
Wish I knew what he did. Moving forward, it's on 4.1.1 and rooted, so it won't take the update from Rogers. What's recomended>? What ROM to go with? I don't want to run into this again........
Suggestions?? Thanks guys.

Yes, I also try to understand why I have a hard brick in the same day after making a jtag.
Root and flash TWRP-openrecovery-2.6.3.0-d2can trwp flash slim bean 4.2 with kernel-dkp aosp43 2013-09-20 steady hard bricked after 4.3 and also try to slim bean and still a hard brick.
Suggestions, thank you
I'm working on it now. I updated the 4.1.1 Rogers to 4.1.2 (Why, I don't know), but it wiped out my recovery. And, I'm guessing the root
too. So, starting over. I just don't want to run into what happened yesterday.
I have not been able to have a screen and I am dead brick to another jtag still do it as an idea of what to do to get back in touch bootloader mode or if I have to make a third jtag.
The only forum on xda that's being repaired, to make a sd card but no picture still works.
I never had a problem before
I forgot to tell that everything was fine and I wanted to restart and I stayed with a black screen.

Yeah, I've ordered a USB jig, so I'll try that when it comes if I don't find a solution before..
I can't get it to boot into download mode or recovery, so I don't know how I'd be able to flash with Odin..
I have been able to get odin to recognize it once in a while by messing around with different 3 button combinations, but when I press start on Odin, it just sits at "setup connection"

okay, so i finally got the usb jigs in the mail, and so i put a battery in the phone, plug in the jig, and all it does is light up the screen for a few seconds then shuts off and repeats endlessly. but i noticed that if i plug the jig in for a quick second, i see the samsung screen where it says the model number but then it shuts off. now if i press power agian without removing the battery, the samsung screen with the model number comes up again, but the phone still shuts off after a couple of seconds... i dont know what to make of it...

I've quicky googled them a month ago and they appear to be about 70 € IIRC, and if you're serious about them remember that having a complete dump of the exact phone you have will make it 100% unbrickable

Oh, the first
Basically, since you can read and write all the flash through it, just create a full dump when it's working and restore it when you hardbrick or... uh, get no display in recovery and want to fix it quickly  (for anything else flashing with Odin is probably quicker)
From what I've read RIFFBox is one of the most popular ones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TTjZgQYRfw, it's probably a little overpriced for what it is but it's aimed at the "professional" market of those independent service shops...

Debrick image is only way besides a jtag to get it to turn on again.
Try at 16GB or 32GB memory card only! anything lower will not work.
I would suggest trying it again it took me a few tries to get the phone to boot . keep it plugged in to wall battery out , put battery in and turn on you should feel a vibration and then viola ODIN MODE.
Note: if you have a t999L the image is different from the T999 ensure you use correct one!
Good luck!

I appreciate the concern but it would be very helpfull if you or someone on this forum could provide me with a samsung galaxy s3 sgh t999 debrick img file. ive been searching for days.
Flashing any ROM from the i9300 (international version of the s3) to the i747 (AT&T s3) or T999 (T-mobile s3) is pretty much guaranteed to brick a phone.
