I'm pretty sure this similar to the same one on other similar sites. I'll wait for it to be posted on TWRP's main site

If it's out, wouldn't TWRP's own site offer it for download? Smells fishy.
I'm not the type of guy to bull **** people but I fallowed the steps on the link and I have working recovery I did a back up and flashed the vol mod so yes I can confirm it does work

Wooo Hooo! Worked like a charm. Thanks for the post.
working great, thanks for the early release!
well, its not an official release, that was confirmed to me by the TWRP folks..
if you REALLY want to test that it works, do a nandroid of your current rom, then reboot to recovery.
Do a complete wipe of data/system/cache/dalvik, factory reset, then try to restore your nandroid, and reboot
If it reboots, and works as normal, then you're good to go!
If it doesn't, you'll know its not a good recovery, and you'll be restoring your phone with Odin or some other way..
Good luck!

Anyone getting deep sleep after TWRP? I installed it and no deep sleep, restored stock and deep sleep.
Anyone else?
yep, and its been discussed dozens of times throughout these threads..search and you will find..
Can anyone confirm adb access from with twrp? How about restore functionality?
I have been unable to do either, restore sends me into bootloop on splash screen.
Thanks

I followed these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20438599&postcount=1 I've never tried it with a pre-rooted ROM, so YMMV. Like I said I flashed this and started the root process over from scratch and this is what worked.

No dice. Rebooting to recovery even with that just leaves me staring at the boot image.
EDIT: I remember reading that those who took the KitKat OTA got a different boot image that makes going back to Jellybean difficult, if not impossible. Could that have anything to do with this?

How can we get onto official CM then?
I know it has something to do with the kernel. We can't downgrade the kernel to the one CM is using? Or we have to wait until CM move up to kernel 3.4?

The latest Nightly is from February, which is 4.4.2.
Honestly keep checking that website, and check XDA.
Since the bootloader has been unlocked there should be a lot of movement / action in the dev section.
I would honestly not flash anything older, I mean feel free to mess around w/ kernel that are newer than 4.4.2 on CM.
I can't promise anything if you're on stock. I hope that helped at least a bit.

I was, but in the end I followed @ATTACK 's advice and used the apps from the Play Store. My impatience and forgetfulness caused me to butt my head against a metaphorical brick wall a few times, but I managed.
Long story short, I am rooted and s-on and running an older version of insertcoin rom. The TWRP backup of my stock rom won't restore and I want to use sunshine to s-off but it says I need to have a stock or close to stock rom. Can anyone recommend a rom that will work for me? Keep in mind that I'm still on firmware that is compatible with 4.4.3. I'm only needing the rom to enable me to s-off, then I can upgrade everything.
Thanks.

You do realize how quickly and easily you can switch back and forth between recoveries if you need to, right? Flash the backup, then switch immediately back to TWRP, then make your own with that recovery to save for later. Or you could just switch back and forth again because it is so easy. I'm surprised that there are no TWRP backups for you. Most have TWRP ones available.

OK here's whats happened. I downloaded the nandroid for my carrier and managed to install it. Its version 4.4.2 and it detected there was an update. I downloaded it and it installed fine, rebooted and it detected another update, then the wifi suddenly turned itself off and would not turn back on so I couldn't download the second bigger update.
I've re-installed the Insertcoin backup and it's all working again.
any ideas?

Q&A for [RECOVERY][Hima] TWRP touch recovery
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.

I don't think you are an idiot... You have actually taken the time to read the thread and check compatibility which is very smart.
I know v79 skd23 works on cm13 and genesis v3.5 so any marshmallow based roms should be fine. If you have issues then use the uninstaller and if that fails then restore the backup you have taken. No harm done. If you do have issues I'm sure a fresh install of your rom of choice and then install xposed (and nothing else at the same time, plus wipe dalvik and cache) should sort you out.

We're okay, i sorted it. Never been so scared in my life, thought the phone was done for because i had no ADB or Fastboot to save me. It turns out that by choosing the factory reset option in the LG recovery, it simply boots straight to TWRP because the default recovery is missing. Then i was able to flash the Xposed uninstaller and it booted fine afterwards.

Sorry..... That's your issue. I actually told you wrong yesterday. I meant to say stock based marshmallow rather than stock. It will work with genesis v3.5 which is stock based and an easy flash of you are already on marshmallow. It's due to xposed needing the system to be deodexed.
Regards,
Ravi
