Hey guys.
I have read multiple times that i should'nt be expecting anything but slow transfer speeds of music from phone running walkman app to the SW3...but mine is rediculous. Even with the battery above 70% im getting around 1 song every 20 minutes and thats if it works at all. Most of the time it just gets stuck after 3-4 songs go over.
Ive been trying to put a play list of 165 songs over since 7pm last night and it is now 10am.
Is there i can do to fix this?
cheers,
nedmmo
Use "Wear Media" from the Playstore transfers are fast....One song takes about 1 or 2 minutes. Make sure your wifi on you phone is turned off

I have Battery Status installed on my Orbit - I'm not overclocking that much, just every now and again when i think it's needed - and the Today plugin has been showing temps of 30 degrees at the end of the day! Last night the device was really annoying me as WMP refused to play any music - i got 2 secs following by 'buffering' for every - required soft reset.
Now this morning - after being on the charger all night, it's at 16 degrees... is WMP playing up because of the heat?? Anyone any advice / input? BTW, i have tried other music players which suffer from the same slow downs so it's definately the device as opposed to WMP being rubbish!...

Thirty degrees isn't that much, is it? Last Summer there were days when I had a roomtemperature of 33 degrees (Celcius). So every object in that room was also at least 33 degrees, even when it was turned off.

I guess not... i'm just looking for a reason for the excessive slow downs i seem to be getting sometimes - when WMP refuses to play my music - it's really frustrating!
I also have pocket mechanic installed and when i get these slow downs i can see in it that CPU usage is constantly at 100%! Why?.. I have no idea!
Then i see the relatively low temp this morning and consider it must be that!
Any ideas greatly appreciated!...
I've realised it's nothing to do with the temperature.
This is a serious issue. Every time i got to listen to music (small mp3s) the device more or less crashes!!
Anyone able to help?
hey, last night i fully charged my TP2, i used a little bit
and when i went to bed it was at 92%..
when i wake up today the battery is on 30%...
and i cant really understand? what phone does that??
heres some info of the battery usage
Last full charge 10:32pm, Sunday Jul 26,2009
since last full charge:
standby time: 8hours 45 minutes
talk time: 0hours 0 minutes
Device Usge: 1 hour 0 minutes.
so can someone tell me if this is normal of the tp2 or somethings
wrong with mine ?
thanks in advance?
Had same problem with mine. Culprit in my case was Voice2Go software which is like MS Voice Command.
A few obvious candidates in the stock ROMs for this are
Push email
Other email accounts set up to auto refresh
Push Internet
Facebook checking for events every hour or so
Weather app set to auto refresh
Stocks app set to auto refresh
RSS feed set to auto update
Google maps updating your position online via Latitude
I'm sure there are a few others
Tom
thanks for the replies... but
no i dont have any of thoose turned on...
i dont think i have anything
that would use some connectivity or something..
Mine died overnight when I paused watching a tv episode using HTC Album and went back to the Home screen. I've had it happen a few times always when watching a video and pausing it or going back to the Home screen with the Home key. It seems like you need to stop the video and not just pause it otherwise it kills my battery. I now make sure I stop the video and then usually kill the process for good measure.
Mine never loses charge when in Standby.
Charged it last night. This morning still 100%.
also i have noticed that my USage time is A LOT
MORE than the standby time..
i think that the device even tho i dont use it
it keep being on ''device usage'' instead of being
on standby..
any thoughts ?
I've got the One X for about a month now, but I keep getting this issue now and then, and it's really really annoying.
It always happens in morning, and I only notice it when my low-battery signal goes off (this morning at 10:00 already). The phone feels very warm, and it's already depleted to 10%. When checking battery usage, it says "Mediaserver" used 85% of the energy!
Now this morning, I didn't play any music or watch any photo or video. On the tram to work, I only used a coupe apps (Engadget, Tweakers, Nu.nl (news site), "volvo ocean race game", autoblog.nl and a soccer app (voetbal international)). But I've used these same sites on my Desire and never had a problem with them.
It's a really annoying problem, and I don't seem to be able to turn of "mediaserver" untill my battery dies before lunch! I don't have a desk job (doctor in hospital) so I don't have any means to recharge during the day...
Now this doesn't happen every day, but 4 times already (that's once every week!).
Please help!
i have had it once, seems it gets locked in with you play sounds. have you tried a factory reset might help.
Try clearing data of all media applications (gallery, music etc...).
I guess your media index got corrupted, this happened to me before and this is how I solved it. I actually saw the reason in logs.
Install OS Monitor from the market and take a look at the logs of mediaserver
No haven't tried a factory reset, wish it wouldn't have to come to that. But a normal reset did solve the problem sometimes. And I haven't played any sounds this morning, however only when muting the phone with the volume rockers i do get a sounds...
hi,
im running stock 4.1.1 along with franco kernel.
Ive noticed that I either get 4 hours screen time if I dont do anything else, but if i listen to music in a day while working (like 6 hours), the media server + google play music uses just as much battery percentage as the screen. so by the end of the day I get 2 hours screen time + maybe 6 hours of music listening. ive also noticed that the time that these two music apps are awake is less than how long ive actually listened to music.
that seems bad. whats the total music play time you guys are getting?
anyone have any input
Yesterday during my sleep time in sleep mode my watch used 75% of the battery today in 3hours I'm down 25% any ideas ?
I checked my watch 51% of the battery on the music app.. I don't have music on my watch.... anyone can help me explain that ?
Glad I came to this site. Havent downloaded this update and hesitating to do so.
My app says its R820XXU1CTI4 so I have icon on my phone.
I found the problem it was reporting 50+ % of music app usage it seems that when I'm watching twitch it thinks it's music so it send the pasuse continue play to the phone, I disabled music control from the phone to the watch and voila , however music control uses too much battery

Where did you find the disable music control setting?
I would like to know how to disable the music control as well, as I have the exact problem. Listened to podcasts overnight and saw a %50 batter usage from the music app despite having never opened it.

This works one time, hitting pause and play again resets it on my device.
Manually having to turn off music control every time you hit play is not ideal for my use. Apparently another Samsung watch had the same problem a year or two ago and was only resolved with an update.

Update, this setting did not initially stick reversing itself. It now appears to be sticking and working as intended.
How did you get it to stick ? Mine keeps automatically switching back whenever I stop and start a new track.

I just played with it and now it's not working again. I'm not able to figure out a sequence to get it to stick.
